EJ and Sami start arguing about whether or not Colleen wanted to become a nun. Sami thinks Santo took advantage of Colleen and thinks if Santo really cared about her, he shouldn't have used her innocence to get what he wanted. She reads that Colleen begged God to protect her. Sami reads, "God was far away that night while your accomplice, Mrs. Fitzpatrick was there."
In the flashback, Colleen finishes praying when Father Mallory comes to tell her he wanted to thank Mr. DiMera for his generous donation, but he has left. He asks if Colleen would consider helping Mrs. Fitzpatrick at the Inn with the children. Colleen is shocked. Sami stops reading and thinks that Colleen was no match for Santo - the 'Casanova'! EJ thinks that Santo rescued Colleen from a life she never would have been happy in. He thinks their love was destiny. Sami reads on. Colleen says that Santo's motive was much less honorable. She reads how Colleen felt deceived by Santo and how difficult it was to suppress her sinful desires. We see Colleen praying in the church. EJ and Sami continue to argue about Colleen being a victim. EJ sticks to his thoughts that it was destiny, while Sami thinks that Santo didn't give her a choice. "They could either choose their fate or reject it," EJ says. Sami agrees with this and EJ tells her that if they reject their own fate, they could live to regret it!
In the flashback, Sister Mary Anne continues to bang on Santo's door while Colleen worries and begs Santo not to answer the door. Colleen hides behind the curtains as Santo lets a raving mad Sister Mary Anne in. She rants about him taking so long to answer the door.
Hope stops reading and Julie comments that the rule breaker is now hiding behind the drapery! Bo returns and tells the gang that Stefano has taken a turn for the worse. Hope continues to read that Colleen knew she was risking her future for a moment of pleasure but wasn't ready to lose what she held so dear.
In the flashback, Sister Mary Claire asks for a donation. He provides her with one and sends her on her way, lying when she asks if he has seen Colleen. Once the nun is gone, Colleen comes out of hiding and says she knows the Sister is on to them! "I'm likely to be the scandal of Galaway by the morning!" Colleen cries out.
The group at the pub discuss Colleen's courage and Marlena asks John if he believes if Santo and Colleen were destined to be together. "I know some people are," he teases. Hope and Bo debate on whether or not Santo and Colleen made love that night. Hope doesn't think so and so they make another bet with the loser doing diaper duty, and Bo reads on that Colleen says she felt despair for the first time in her life, but then when Santo touched her, she felt the warmth of his skin and the world dissolved away.
In the flashback, Santo doesn't think that Colleen has sinned. He reminds her that the sister left without knowing she was there.
Santo and Colleen make out on his bed until Colleen spots her wrap. She grabs it and figures the Sister must have seen it. She jumps up in a fright.
The group at the pub discuss the letter and laugh that Hope has won the bet once again, since Santo and Colleen didn't make love. Doug laughs at Bo for betting a Horton and says he'll be doing diaper duty until Easter. They turn the discussion to Stefano and his being near death. Hope says it reminds her that they still don't know how Colleen died. Marlena continues to read about how Colleen knew she'd be punished for her sin. She has turned her back on the church and knew her life would never be the same.
In the flashback, Colleen cries for her sins and betrayal. Santo says she didn't betray her heart. He tells her she is beautiful both inside and out and doesn't think the lord would have created such beauty for it to be piddled away. Colleen grabs her shoes and cries out that this type of talk led her into sin. She yells at Santo to stay away from her and leaves his room, with Santo calling after her, frantically.
When Colleen arrives back at the church, Sister Mary Anne and Father Mallory are waiting. Sister Mary Anne says she was at Santo DiMera's place earlier and saw ten toes poking out from beneath the drapes, and her scarf on the bed. The Father and Sister ask Colleen what she has to say for herself but Colleen is speechless.
Marlena stops reading. They assume everyone would have found out about Colleen and Santo quickly but unfortunately have to wait for the rest of the letters to find out more. Stefano could be gone by then, Bo states.
Flashback to Colleen asking Shawn Jr. to go to Father Mallory and tell him that she can't collect this evening because her aunt is sick! He tells her he knows she is to meet Stefano's father, and doesn't want her to go. "Please don't go," he begs of her.
Julie stops reading and they group debates on whether or not Colleen is as naïve as they originally thought! She continues on to read that Colleen knew she'd fail young Shawn.
Flashback to Colleen telling Shawn that she and Santo are good friends. She says the Sister and Father would not understand their friendship and wants him to keep it quiet about it. Shawn offers to go with her but she refuses. She says she is doing this for happiness - a type of happiness you can't find in a church! Colleen tells Shawn one day he can go to the States and study in college. Shawn claims he doesn't want to, and doesn't think he can lie for her because he'd then have to admit it in confession, come Sunday. Colleen starts to cry and explains how she has to do this. She thinks its part of God's plan. Colleen leaves him and thinks to herself, "That look in the eyes of my brother, like a dagger, went to my soul." She leaves and Shawn runs away when Father Mallory finds him in the church alone.
While Bo and John talk, Doug asks the women what they would do in Colleen's situation. Marlena thinks Hope would hire a private investigator to find out about Santo's finances and his wife. Hope starts to laugh, guilty as charged! Hope says when the report came back, she'd run it over to Santo!! They all laugh and John continues reading.

Santo writes that he was tormented waiting for her, "But I knew my anguish wasn't as bad as yours." He thinks to himself as he waits by the window for Colleen, who finally shows up, flustered. Santo asks her to make herself at home or asks if she prefers to dine in the pub. Colleen's eyes widen and she says that there are people in the pub who know her! Santo claims he's just trying to be a gentleman but Colleen retorts, "Don't waste your time.We both know it's a lie to end all lies."
