Stephanie arrives at her interview with Anna. It doesn't take long for Anna to drop her facade and tell her that interning there isn't a good idea. The company is barely surviving and she doesn't even have a secretary. Stephanie asks her what's going wrong. Anna explains that she needs to succeed to prove herself to Tony. "What do you care what he thinks?" Stephanie asks. Anna realizes that she doesn't care; she should be trying to succeed for her own sake, not his. "So what can I do for you?" Stephanie offers. Anna's pessimistic, but wonders if the ad campaign she's bidding for could save things. Stephanie starts coming up with ideas and Anna gets excited by this one: "Everyday people living out their dreams at discount prices." Stephanie offers to cancel all her other interviews and Anna hires her.
Morgan runs into Chelsea by the water. After inquiring about Bo, Morgan tells her that she got the internship she wanted. She calls Anna and cancels her interview with her. Stephanie arrives and says that she got the internship she wanted. Tony calls her and tells her the position she was applying for was filled. The girls smile at each other. They know that they are rivals now. Meanwhile, Anna goes to see Tony. After his secretary details his busy day and walks away, Anna informs Tony that she is assembling her staff. He says that he loves her and wants her to succeed. He won't even pitch against her; she can have the new client if she wants them. "I don't want or need your charity," she says, turning and walking out.
Tony and a very uncomfortable Anna visit Stefano in the long-term care facility but Stefano's staring makes Anna leave the room. Tony asks Stefano if he can hear him and inside his head, Stefano says he can. Anna is too ill at ease so she leaves the room, preferring instead to wait outside.
Back at the mansion, John tells Claire that the disc she found is probably blank since it's not labeled. He tosses it aside and the doorbell rings and Stefano's lawyer, Richard Griffin arrives with estate news. Stefano had various lawyers he says but what he knows he'll need John's family to hear. John asks for Marlena to stay and calls EJ. EJ agrees to come and invites Sami to join him. He makes a call to Tony, who is just leaving long term care. Tony agrees to meet at the mansion and Anna invites herself!
Tony, Anna, EJ and Sami arrive at the mansion. John mentions that Lexi's busy at the hospital so Mr. Griffin discusses Stefano being incapacitated and Tony says the world would make a better place without his father in it. This makes John smirk and Mr. Griffin says Lexi, Tony and EJ were all cut out of Stefano's will but he added a provision for his grandson Giovanni that is in trust until he's 21. Sami is disgusted and EJ is surprised to find that the other trust funds were cancelled as Stefano promised to reinstate them. Mr. Griffin says Stefano lied! They are told that John gets 10s of millions of dollars. Anna's ears perk up when she hears this and John says, "There's my new jet!" Marlena is shocked that he'd consider keeping it and he retorts that she's working on the wrong side of the couch. She says she's disappointed in him. "Lower your expectations," he says, drolly. Tony and Anna leave and John says to EJ he's sure the old man would have cut EJ out at some point anyway, as soon as he upset him. EJ knows why he was cut out and tells John it was for admitting to Marlena where she could find John. "I guess you'll thank me for that later," EJ says and he and Sami leave. Claire and Belle leave right behind them and Marlena says the man she knew never would have taken Stefano's money. She wants to get the real John back but John says he likes himself. He invites her to a steak dinner but she says, "Let me think. No!" She leaves and John lights up a cigar.
Anna arrives at her office on her first day at work. Her boss calls to ask if she has brought any clients in yet. She remarks that she hasn't even cleaned off her desk yet. Her boss doesn't care. He wants clients first and a clean desk later. Anna reassures him they'll blow DiMera Advertising out of the water but later she calls him back to let him know that Tony's got all of their clients. She'll run over to his office to discuss it further.
Anna arrives at DiMera Advertising and knocks on Tony's office door. When he doesn't answer, she waltzes in and sits at his desk. She unhappily reads some of his papers and writes him a note and when Tony's assistant arrives, she tells her who she is and asks if Tony has talked with her about birth control yet. The assistant is confused and Anna tells her a story about how he'll come on to her, get her pregnant, and fire her as he did to Anna before. The assistant is shocked.
Anna returns to her office to find the flowers and note from Tony. She's annoyed by the note and shreds it in anger.
Tony shows up at Anna's office and Anna panics. She says perhaps she went too far! Tony stares at her while he walks to her desk, quietly. He takes her in his arms and surprises her with a hard kiss.
Anna relaxes at her hotel with a beautifying mask covering her face when she is interrupted by Tony, who asks her to come with him. "It's a matter of life and death," he tells her, cryptically. Anna reluctantly invites him in and tells him not to make himself comfortable. "You're not staying long." Tony tells her they've transferred Stefano to a long term treatment facility and Marlena wants him to go by the mansion. He's worried Stefano may have recovered and is there, angry and waiting for him! He wants Anna by his side when he goes. Anna laughs and clarifies that he wants her to go with him into a potentially explosive situation. Tony wants her support, but then admits he wanted to make up an excuse to see her. He's been going crazy without her and thinks about her all the time, he says. He puts on the charm and asks if she could put their differences aside for one night.
