Kate and Anna rehearse the commercial together and Kate says one of her lines, asking Anna if her husband appreciates all she does. Anna spies Tony and pauses for long moments, then cries bitterly, "No, no husband ever appreciates anything…" Kate is incredulous and tells her that's not the line and this isn't working! They argue until Kate tells Anna she's pulling her advertising account! After Kate leaves, Anna worries that Kate will pull Tony's account. Tony says it doesn't matter, as long as he has his Anna! He offers to take her to Chez Rouge, much to her delight, and they start kissing!
Anna bumps into Tony at a nearby table and his laptop falls. He calls her a klutz and she stomps off. Tony finds her and apologizes. He didn't know that she was the klutz - he didn't look up before he made the comment! Anna is shocked that Tony's not acting like his pompous self and he explains that his mind is elsewhere. He's concerned about Kate because of Chelsea. Anna feels for her - Caroline filled her in. Before Tony goes to Kate, Anna asks point blank if something is going on between he and Kate. Tony asks her to give him credit. "I love you and only you," he tells her and she admits she knows he loves her. They move closer to each other and Tony kisses her! Anna says she can't help but worry. Kate is a powerful and beautiful woman. Tony says that's nonsense. He loves her - not Kate!
Nearby, Kate thinks she has a right to know why Daniel's off her granddaughter's case. He tells her to give Chelsea support and never mind why he's not on the case. Kate starts to worry but Daniel says ethically, his hands are tied. She notices he's as concerned as she is and calls herself nuts when it comes to family! Dr. Daniel continues to drink and flashes back to his discussion with Lexi about losing objectivity and becoming emotionally involved where Chelsea is concerned. He orders another drink!
At Tony's table, Kate arrives and Tony tells Anna that Kate's in his commercial. He wants to make Kate the next Martha Stewart. Anna laughs and Kate explains she was surprised at first as well but she's intrigued now. She decides she's had enough and gives them time alone.
At the pub, Lexi loves her new job but she and Abe agree they need to make time for each other and for Theo. Abe leaves and Kate arrives and discusses her conversation with Daniel. She asks what's up but Lexi says nothing. Kate wonders why Daniel took himself off Chelsea's case and Lexi admits that between them two, Daniel was becoming too emotionally involved.
Anna admits to Tony that she's working for John Black. She says it is top secret and she can't discuss it with competition. Tony thinks it's silly but Anna says they can discuss it over dinner. Kate arrives and tells him she's ready for their dinner meeting. She tells Anna it was the only time she wasn't busy and Tony apologizes that he can't take her but he'll meet her at her hotel later. She refuses. She has a lot of business calls to make, and makes a call to information. "I know the time," she spits, into the phone as Tony and Kate leave the pub!
Anna waltzes into Chez Rouge. Her mood turns sour as she spies Tony and Morgan. She loudly requests a drink at the bar and Tony goes to her. He greets her and asks if she's there for business or pleasure. "That's what I'd like to know," she says. He shares that he's there with Kate Roberts to discuss business. Anna retorts that Kate used to be in the business of pleasure. She confuses Tony by telling him that maybe if he plays his cards right, he'll get lucky!
Meanwhile, at a nearby table, Morgan and her father, Paul, sit, after a dance. He tells her his reputation will be repaired, though he likely won't get his job back. The person who got him into this mess is going to be getting him out of it. Morgan worries but he asks if they can change the subject and have a nice dinner.
John and Marlena dine nearby. John tells Marlena that this dinner is to celebrate starting fresh. Marlena grins as he toasts them. He wants to show her there is something to like about himself and feels if he can connect with Marlena, he may be able to work up to something more. Maybe she'll like the new him! Anna arrives at their table and interrupts. "I know I do," she says, grinning salaciously. John invites her to sit and she tells Marlena she's no longer with Tony. Marlena wants to help but Anna isn't sure she wants her to bother. "He's as thick as they come," she says and compliments John, who she thinks is more perceptive with women. John nods and grins when she tells him she bets he knows exactly what she wants! Meanwhile, Tony watches with jealously from afar. John tells Anna that she's a remarkable woman but doesn't mean it as a compliment. Anna's face falls and Marlena is astonished when John accuses Anna of making Tony jealous. A mortified Anna runs off and Tony, who has been watching, arrives while Marlena goes to see how Anna is doing. Tony apologizes to John for Anna. John urges him to stop ignoring her. If he wasn't married, he just might go out with Anna. He finds her very attractive! Tony is shocked and tells him he wouldn't allow it! John reassures him that Anna only has eyes for him. He brings up Paul Hollingsworth. He says the man has been accused of some wrong doings and he'd like Tony to spin it. Morgan and Paul turn up as Tony's trying to figure out where he has heard the name before.
At the bar, Marlena goes to Anna, who apologizes for flirting with John. Marlena knows she was just trying to get to Tony and doesn't think she needs to do that. Anna becomes emotional and tells Marlena that Tony doesn't respect her. Marlena thinks Tony adores her. Anna thinks Marlena is lucky to have John, but Marlena tells Anna that they've no past together. Anna comments that Marlena is blind - this new John clearly has feelings for her! Marlena admits she finds it confusing but urges her to be careful, before some other woman tries to take him away from her!
Marlena arrives at John's side at Chez Rouge and John tells her he is trying to help Mr. Hollingsworth and Tony. "See, I'm not all bad," he cries. Marlena agrees and asks him for a dance. As they dance, Marlena tells John their date is going well and she is glad she accepted the date. When he questions whether she's thinking about the old John, she denies it. She is in the present! She grins while he tells her he thinks "the new him" is getting under her skin.
Nearby, Morgan thanks Tony for helping her father and gives him a kiss on the cheek. Anna witnesses it and Tony calls Morgan a nice kid. He tells her he's flattered that she'd try to make him jealous but tells her she already has him. Anna asks why she'd do that. She doesn't want to be second best. She leaves Tony confused, once again!
Stephanie wanders into Anna's office with her camera man, David, much to Anna's annoyance. She agrees to allow it as long as he doesn't get in her way. The taping commences but Anna asks David to turn the camera off. Stephanie comments that they won't get their credits if he does so. David is bored to death with watching Anna read a magazine article called "Ten Ways to Get Your Man Back" and with watching Stephanie watering plants. He motions for Stephanie to go talk to Anna and the two discuss the article Anna's reading. Stephanie suggests Anna could write a better article and asks how she could get Tony back if she wanted to do so. Anna considers it. She lists how she could play hard to get and not return Tony's phone calls. Stephanie says if she treated her boyfriend like that, he'd leave her! Anna's interest is piqued and Steph admits Max and her are dating. Anna claims she doesn't want Tony back. She cares for him a little and if he came into her office sulking and on his knees, she'd consider taking him back. She tells Steph that Tony has no idea how to treat a woman. He's frustrating; his skull is as thick as a brick. Anna thinks Tony's supposed to know what she wants but Stephanie retorts that he doesn't know unless Anna tells him. Anna misses him, she confesses and Stephanie suggests she tell Tony. Anna points at David and says that this goes no further than this room. She discusses work and how she has no idea how to compete with Tony. She declines when Stephanie offers to spread around her business cards. Anna decides she wants to take a break.
Anna arrives at Tony's office but he's not there. Curious, she watches the video that Mark took and is disgusted that Tony was hugging Morgan and complimenting Kate's eyes. She yells, "You bastard," when she hears and sees Tony ask Kate out to dinner. She murmurs that she feels like an idiot and is annoyed that Tony would take out an ex-hooker.
Meanwhile, Tony arrives at Anna's office, only to find her gone but the video tape still in the camera. He watches parts of it, skips through most, and finds out that Anna misses Tony. He ponders her words and calls Anna to find out what she's up to. She lies that she's at the salon. Tony calls her hair exquisite - even in the mornings before she has even run a brush through it. Anna starts to rant and asks if Kate's hair is exquisite or just her eyes. Tony's confused but Anna continues on. She hopes he and Kate will be happy together. She tells him to play his games with somebody else. She cries that she'll come out on top and hangs up before she storms out of the room.
On her phone in her office, Anna tells her boss she's sure once Kate sees her numbers, she'll dump Tony's company in a heartbeat. He lets her know that her job depends on getting a huge account. Stephanie enters the office with David filming her, much to Anna's surprise. After Anna makes David promise not to allow any of this to show up on the internet, Max arrives with flowers for Stephanie. Anna offers to put them in water while Max kisses Stephanie - and discusses their love life, on camera. They agree to meet later.
Ethan and Morgan enter Tony's office with papers and proposals, ready to take a meeting until Anna shows. Tony asks Anna what he can do for her and she points at Ethan and says she wants him! Ethan is flustered and thinks she wants him for something other than work but Anna explains she only wants him for work. Tony offers to pay him more if he stays but Anna says money's no issue, until Ethan shows her his check for the week. Her eyes widen and she looks to Morgan to see if she can take her, instead. Tony yells that Morgan is his intern. Anna's intern, Stephanie is at the hospital, she explains because Bo Brady is sick. She explains Bo's having a partial pancreas surgery but tells him it's risky. She says she has never met her boss and has a lot of work to be done but can't very well ask Stephanie to leave the hospital during this time. She needs to get an account. She shows Tony her portfolio - some ideas for Kate Roberts that she drew on an art board. Tony's working on something as well for Kate and calls Anna's ideas nostalgic. Anna hopes he won't use her ideas. When she asks to see their rough concepts, Tony shows her an incredible mock up on his computer, done by the art department. She's clearly impressed and refuses to show him the rest of her sketches and thinks there is something said for sophistication and simplicity. She admits she could use help but Tony yells that she wanted to be on her own - didn't want his help! Anna argues that he shouldn't be throwing that in her face and the two call each other hard headed. She grabs a painting off his wall and smashes it over his head! Tony lets Ethan and Morgan leave and moves in on Anna. She becomes nervous and backs up. He says she's spoiled and he likes to spank spoiled little brats. Anna calls him callous and he retorts that she's childish. He moves in for a kiss and says he knows she wants him. Anna admits it! "I want you," she says with a giggle as he throws her to the sofa and unbuttons his jacket. The two make love until Ethan arrives, with a knock on the door. Anna and Tony scramble to put their clothes on and they feign an argument. Tony yells, "And let that be a message to you!"
Tony walks into Anna's office. She has no interest in talking to him. He watches as she sits down to a business call. "That was a new client," she explains, trying to show off. "They asked me first," he says, trying to burst her bubble. He asks her to come work with him again but she's defiant. She'd only do that if they split everything fifty-fifty. "Don't you understand how crazy I am about you?" he exclaims, leaping up. She's crazy about him too, but not crazy enough to be window dressing at his firm. She has to do things for herself.
