Water, Whiskey, Rubbing Alcohol... Something!

Sami goes to Caroline at the pub bar and asks for a drink. "Water, whiskey, rubbing alcohol... something!" Caroline laughs and Sami tells her grandmother she needs to see Lucas. "Right now!" Sami calls the prison but Lucas refuses to talk to her. She cries to Caroline that Lucas has to get over his guilt and let her see him, the sooner the better! EJ comes into the pub and Caroline asks him if he knows what's going on, because Sami refuses to spill it. EJ says he thinks Samantha's just desperate to hang on to what she had with Lucas. Sami yells that she has true love with Lucas and he'll never know anything about that. She storms off and Caroline asks if EJ did something to prompt this! EJ tells her that this time it was all Sami. He explains what happened and Caroline says she knows Sami and Nicole are enemies and that Sami misses Lucas. She apologizes and knows he's trying hard to change, but he should realize that the only reason why he is a part of Sami's life is because Lucas can't be. EJ knows. He flashes back to talking with Sami about seeing Lucas in jail, for the last time and how hard it was for her. He flashes back to his clandestine meeting with Nicole and telling her that he has a plan to get to Sami, and then flashes back to Sami forcibly kissing him, outside the pub.

Is This Our Song?

Caroline picks up Bo and Kayla from the hospital and they reminisce about how they used to fake sick when they were kids. Caroline asks why Roman or Steve didn't pick them up but they remind her they requested she not ask any questions. She tells them that keeping secrets from family can only mean trouble. They arrive at the pub and Caroline implores them to tell her what's wrong. When they don't, she tells them to get to bed. She reminds Bo that his father died so he could live and asks him to honor that. Bo promises to do so and Caroline reminds Kayla that she has a precious baby inside her. Kayla will be fine, she says. Since Caroline can't force them to rest, she tells them to call her if they need anything and goes up to bed. They agree that now is the time to find their partners. As Hope talks to herself, Bo tells Kayla that he can tell Hope's in danger.

Nicole's All Wet!

At The Pub, Stephanie runs into Caroline who asks how her internship is going. She jokes that all she has done is pick up lunch and coffee. She goes looking for Max, who tells her he is too busy to take a break. Sitting at a table, John is visited by Paul, who tells him he had better get him out of this legal mess. Marlena watches outside. Stephanie goes to her grandmother to talk. She confides that Max has been working a lot lately and they haven't been able to do anything together. She is feeling like Max has shut her out since Grandpa Shawn died. Caroline says burying himself in work is how Max is coping. Caroline tells Stephanie she'll give Max some time off. Meanwhile, John asks Paul if he's going to threaten him. Paul says he can't relax - the news has him tried and convicted! He is worried Kiriakis had him followed there. John says they'll both come out of this clean, not to worry. Just then, Marlena walks over and says hello. John dismisses Paul and offers Marlena a seat. When Marlena notes that she read about him in the paper, he tells her he is surprised that she isn't lecturing him about his business. She says he can do what he wants. John then suggests that he feels something for her and introduces himself anew, wanting to start over. But Marlena won't do it - she tells him she only wants her John back!

At The Pub, Caroline tells Max he needs to take a break. Max realizes that Stephanie put her up to it. Caroline says he is trying to fill his father's shoes, and it's honorable, but his friends need him too. Indicating Stephanie, she says especially that one! "Go talk to her." Across the room, John once again asks Marlena to give the new John a chance - she might find something she likes. He suggests that she stop treating him like a patient, and more like a project. "Try to change me into exactly who you want me to be!" Max, meanwhile, approaches Stephanie and apologizes to her for not being around. She offers to help him, but he says he deals with it better on his own. She tries to convince him that Grandpa Shawn would want him to move on. He laughs. "You sound like mom." Stephanie says, "If you won't do it for me, do it for yourself." Max excuses himself, and Marlena approaches Stephanie to say hello. Max goes back to the bar and tells Caroline he's going to take time off. She is glad. Max goes to tell Stephanie that he is free. She hugs him, and Marlena says to Caroline, "Nice job!" Marlena then returns to John's table, and he asks her again to make him her project. She asks if that idea doesn't bother him, considering he was Stefano's project. John shrugs, noting that Marlena looks much better in a dress! Outside, Max asks Stephanie what she would like to do. She suggests that they talk. She tells him about her dad having disappeared. Inside, John continues to compliment Marlena about her hair and smile. He tells her thinks he has started the project without her, and they beam at one another across the table!

Smokin' Hot!

Caroline arrives at Bo's side and Bo thanks her for bringing Ciara, earlier. Caroline asks where Hope has been and Bo tells her a little about what's going on and asks that she keep quiet and help him to get out of the hospital.

Bon Voyage, I'll Miss You.

Hope and Caroline sit with an unconscious Bo until Lexi arrives. Lexi and Caroline want Kayla to rest but she's not ready to. Outside the door, Steve makes origami and makes a tense Roman laugh. They look at a women's magazine together and poke fun of the articles within. Roman remembers when Kate used to read this. Stephanie goes to check on Chelsea while Steve goes to check on Kayla.

Dr. Jonas visits Bo and Hope in Bo's room. Hope complains Bo is so pale. He asks Hope to leave while he examines Bo and tells her Chelsea's doing just fine. Hope goes to see the family and tells them that Bo's being examined now. Eventually, Dr. Jonas comes out of Bo's room and he tells the family that there is no reason why Bo can't make a full recovery. Chelsea's doing great, he admits and the family cheers. Meanwhile, inside Bo's room, Bo panics and appears in pain.

Rabid Pit Bull!

Belle tells Shawn and Philip that Bo's being prepped for surgery and they can see him once more beforehand. Philip comforts Shawn and Belle almost slips and mentions them leaving town but she stops herself. Nearby, Marlena tells John they're blessed with a good family and he's a part of it. He prefers to keep his distance as he fears one of the family could get caught in the crossfire. Caroline tells Steph and Max that she and Victor were told they couldn't see Chelsea. She's being prepped for surgery. Caroline thinks the two can beat the odds. Marlena comforts Belle and Shawn and John says he doesn't know how Marlena or Belle can work in a hospital. It's so tense. He comments how Belle is a ball of sunshine and she must get it from her mother. Belle thanks him and says she gets it from him, too. Steve tries to lighten the mood by telling Steph, Max and Roman that he gave up a kidney to his brother Jack (Devereaux) and he's ok. They try to joke around and keep things light to disguise their real concerns.

Family says goodbye and good luck to an unconscious Bo as the doctors wheel him out. Meanwhile, Lexi, Kayla and Dr. Jonas prepare for surgery.

Nick arrives in Chelsea's room and apologizes for being so late. He wanted to find his old stuffed teddy in his apartment to give her for good luck. Chelsea accepts it happily and is told that his mom gave him 'Teddy' when he was 10, so he's only on loan! Chelsea's glad to see them both and Nick asks if she's certain about this surgery. He doesn't want to lose her. She asks him to have a little faith and the nurse comes to retrieve her and take her to the OR. Kate and Nick give her hugs and Nick kisses her hard. Steph and Max arrive to lend support and Hope stops her on the way to surgery to thank her. Chelsea says it'll be easy. She has to simply lie there and stay asleep. She'd do anything for her dad, she says. "I love you, Chelsea," says Hope, tears flowing freely. Chelsea and Bo's gurneys are stopped beside each other. Chelsea jokes she's disobeying him again by going for the surgery. He can yell at her when they go home, she says. She tells them they're in this together. "We're a team".
