Doug and Julie arrive, and dangle keys to "Doug's club". Bo tells them that he has some police business to attend to before they leave, but he'll meet them at the club. Before he can go anywhere, Lucas drops in on Bo and tells him that he's worried about Sami, because of Tony being in Salem. "I feel that she's not safe," he admits and says that Sami's determined to find out what the feud is about. He tells Bo, Doug and Julie that Sami ran off with Elvis to see Stefano, and lets them in on what was said in the ambulance. When they hear the name Colleen, Bo flashes back to his conversation with Shawn Sr.. Julie and Bo explain the letter to Lucas, and Lucas asks them not to let Sami in on their plans. Hope comes back from getting a sitter for Ciara, and asks Lucas to have faith in Sami. Lucas finally agrees to chill out a little and invites them all to dinner soon, before he heads out.
At the Brady Pub, Julie finishes reading Santo's letter and Hope is surprised that the vendetta is about Santo's lover. Bo and Doug wonder who Colleen is, and they all agree that it's time to solve the mystery. Hope asks Bo to talk to Shawn Sr. about the past, because she didn't get anywhere when she asked about it. Bo says that Shawn Sr.'s getting a little grumpy in his old age and he jokes that he's a little afraid to talk to him about the feud, but he goes off anyway. Hope thinks that the secrets could lie in the tunnels under the club, so although Doug says that the tunnels are closed off, he makes a call to see if they can get into the club in order to go through the tunnel to look for evidence.
Bo returns to the table and lets the ladies know that 'Pop' doesn't want to come clean. Julie lets Bo know that Doug is making a call to someone in order to see if they can get through to the tunnel again. Doug gets off the phone and tells them they've got the go ahead.
Hope and Bo are happily surprised to see Julie and Doug enter the pub, and dash over to them to greet them with hugs and kisses all around. Doug says that they just got back from Crete, and mentions that since Julie has been talking about Ciara the whole time; they've decided to come to Salem for a while. Doug says that they're staying with Alice for a while, and lets them know that Alice is planning on teaching Julie how to make her famous donuts! Julie holds Ciara and she and Doug fawn over her. Hope is happy they're here and admits she's overwhelmed at seeing her parents. She tells Doug that them being there reminds her of Claire missing. Doug is supportive and tells her he's certain that they'll see Claire again soon. He hugs his daughter, and Julie asks about John. Both she and Doug are thrilled to hear that John's doing well and up and around.
DiMera mansion. This reminds Doug of being in the secret room at the DIMera mansion and he says that he'll never forget what they found there. He tells them that he found an aerial map of Salem and a family tree of the Hortons and the Bradys. He says it was disturbing, and that the DiMeras must have been perusing the maps for some time. Since no crime was committed, he sadly admits that they could do nothing about it. Bo says, "Speaking of the DiMeras, Tony moved back to Salem, with Stefano." He relays that Stefano is ill, and Doug drinks to Stefano's ailing health! Hope asks her dad what the feud is all about, and shows him the letter from Maison Blanche. Julie knows Italian, she agrees to translate.
Julie reads,
"My dearest son, I am at the end of my days on the bed of my last breath. But there must be no sorrow no mourning. All I have planted is yours for the harvest. My secrets are yours. All I am all I own with my blessing and God's. I leave the earth certain that my love of wine, music and justice are part of your deepest heart but deep in my deepest heart I held a black diamond from you. Sharp, hard and cold, never once spoken of never shared, over these many years. Long ago there was a woman, outside and beyond the vows made to your mother. A woman I loved that I never loved as another. I share this with you my son knowing you'll understand as we're driven men with great appetites." Julie stops reading, offended that Santo would be so open about his affair with his son. Hope begs Julie to finish.
"The name of the woman who owns my heart, body and soul, the most pulchritudinous creature I've ever seen…" Julie stops to explain what the word means… "My Colleen was the rarest of woman, the sun to my darkness, her smile beyond major my life my joy, but she was taken from me. Ever since, not a moment free of grief. Here with the final few beats of my heart, my dear son, my pride, I beg you shoulder my burden and take my revenge. Find those who stole Colleen from me and torment them, generation upon generation. Find them and torment them as they have tormented me. Terms of the vendetta follow." Julie says that it looks like the name is Brady, and that they can find them in Salem. "My son, seek them out. Make them pay, dearly for what they did to your poppa."
Inside the Horton house, Maggie, Nick and Chelsea drink eggnog, while Julie and Doug put out Hors' D'oeuvres. Julie gives Nick a hug and then gives him a gift from his parents. They're still in France, but sent him a part he had wanted for his computer. He is thrilled to accept it and as he reads the card, he gets a little emotional. "I miss them so much," he says. Chelsea watches as he talks about his parents. She is feeling alone and upset and wistfully tells him, "I have all of these relatives who don't want to know that I exist."
Hope and Bo comfort one another as they think about Zack. Bo asks her to promise him not to go away with Lockhart.
Shawn, Claire and Belle arrive for Christmas celebrations as a family. They're greeted with hugs from all, and Claire is 'stolen' by Julie, for snuggles. Lucas drags Sami under the mistletoe as Belle happily looks on. She tells Shawn that she's happy that Sami and Lucas are back together.
Chelsea is happy and feels loved when Hope and Bo hug her. One by one, the Horton and Brady families put up their Christmas ornaments. Sami smiles when Lucas tells her that it'll be her turn next year!
Chelsea watches with tears in her eyes as an emotional Bo and Hope put up Zack's ornament together. She wants to leave, but Nick stops her. Bo says to Hope, "He'll always be with us." Hope tells Zack, "I'll love you forever." Chelsea goes to the tree to put up her ornament, but has a difficult time with it, when she stares at Zack's ornament. Hope notices this and sweetly holds Chelsea's hand as she puts up her ornament next to Zack's.
Maggie makes mention that there are family members who are no longer with them and ones who couldn't be here today.
Kayla and Steve are upset to find that Frankie can't make it home to find Max because he's stuck in an airport in Toledo.
Stephanie, Steve and Kayla leave for the Hospital in order to read the Christmas story to the sick children. Steve is nervous when he begins but doesn't get far in the book when he stops. "I'm sorry kids. I can't read this," he apologizes. He has to tell them the story in his own words. The children adore his version of the story, which is laid back yet interesting! Bo and Hope drop by the hospital as he finishes up. They love his version of the story, and Bo tells Steve that he is a hard act to follow. (He's to dress as Santa!) Kayla and Steve leave for the Clay Aiken concert as Stephanie, Hope and Bo stay behind. Shawn, Belle and Claire arrive at the hospital. Belle tells the children that Santa's coming soon, and shares Claire's story of when she was in the hospital last year. She asks the kids to stay strong and have faith that they'll get better. Dressed as Santa, Bo arrives. "Ho Ho Ho," he says, and gives out gifts to all of the children with Julie and Maggie's help!
At the Brady Pub, Lucas invites Sami skiing for New Year's Eve, Hope and Bo kiss, and Belle tells Shawn how good it feels to see his parents happy again!
