Philip goes to Kate in ER and they reminisce about her taking care of him when he contracted chicken pox, as a child. Philip thinks it's his time to take care of her. Kate apologizes for being so hesitant for coming to the hospital. She feels lucky to have him and won't complain anymore. She has another coughing fit and this time she coughs up blood. Philip calls for the nurse.
The Proposal!
Tony and Anna arrive home to the mansion, and he berates her for giving a boring presentation. She says, "My presentation killed and you know it!" Anna spots a table for two set up in the living room. Anna thinks Tony set it up for her, but Stefano appears and announces that his 'date' will be arriving soon! Tony wonders who would be nervy, or foolish, enough to date his father! Just then, Kate walks in! Anna tells Kate she knows she's been lonely - but maybe she should try speed-dating. Stefano dismisses them, but Tony says they're not going anywhere! Tony takes Stefano aside and amuses him by asking what his intentions are with Kate. Anna, at the same time, asks Kate if she knows why Stefano invited her there. Kate begins to cough. Anna expresses concern, then drags Tony out of the room. Tony listens outside the door, whispering to Anna, "We've got to find a way to protect her!" Stefano compliments Kate and they get up to speed on how he is free to make a life in Salem. He toasts to new beginnings, "To us!"
Later, Tony and Anna are still outside the living room door. Anna yawns, "Do we really have to stand out here listening to Kate talk about herself all night?!" Tony says Kate is their friend - they have to find a way to thwart Stefano's plan. Anna says she has an idea. "Come with me!" Inside, Kate and Stefano continue to make small talk when Anna and Tony appear wearing aprons! They tell Stefano that the cook threw his back out and they are filling in! Stefano realizes that they aren't going to be left alone. He apologizes to Kate for the idiotic antics and Kate smiles, "Not at all! I'm going to enjoy having Anna wait on me hand-and-foot!" Once they have served the food, Anna says it's time for the entertainment. Stefano announces that he's had enough - he and Kate have important business to discuss. Tony and Anna leave, but continue to listen outside the door. Stefano and Kate share a laugh before getting down to business. Stefano says he has a proposal. He thinks the two of them should get married! Outside the door, Tony and Anna's jaws drop! Kate is speechless. Stefano presses her to accept his proposal. Finally, Kate asks him where this is coming from. He says he realized that one of the things he wants out of life is her! She asks if he's in love with her. He says that for whatever time he has left on this Earth, he wants her by his side. She says Marlena was always his Queen. He says he's not done with Marlena yet - he's got his own special plans for her!
Street Cred!
Morgan and Philip kiss outside the pub. They go inside and take a seat. They agree to give their relationship another shot, but she asks him not to push, and not to lie to her. He promises, then asks her to go out of town with him. She says it's moving too fast. She also fills him in on her internship - with his mother. Kate appears, "Excuse me?!" Philip thinks it's great. Morgan explains that she interviewed with Chris. Kate is obviously not thrilled so Philip pulls her aside and tells her to give Morgan a chance. Kate agrees and Philip says Morgan will start next week - they're going out of town. Morgan says she doesn't think it's a good idea. Suddenly, Victor arrives and says he doesn't want Philip going anywhere! Victor takes Philip outside and chastises him for wanting to take a break. Philip assures him he takes his job seriously. Victor urges him to immerse himself in Titan like he once did with golf! Philip questions whether one can have it all. He tells his father that he wishes he were still with his mom. He fills him in on the coughing - and about Daniel! Inside, Morgan chatters to Kate who glares at her. Kate begins to cough. Victor comes back to the table. "Kate. I need to talk to you. Now!"
Morgan and Philip are once again alone at their table. Talk turns to their pasts and she admits that Max Brady broke her heart. She asks Philip about Chloe, and he tells her she is dating his brother. "Chloe just wasn't the woman for me!" Nearby, Victor rails at Kate for sleeping with Daniel and hurting Chelsea. They discuss Chelsea's whereabouts. Kate tells him that she's in France.
The Dr. Phil Thing's Not Working!
Morgan and Philip arrive at the hospital, still arguing about her father. He tells her that her father was weak and that's why he's in the position he's in! Just then, Kate appears, sighs, and makes a rude remark about Philip being with 'her' again. Philip warns his mother to stop, but Morgan tells her not to worry - there is nothing between her and Philip and there won't be ever again! Kate asks what he's doing there, and he tells her that Daniel called - he's worried about her. Talk turns back to his romantic life and he laments that when it comes to him and Lucas, no one is ever good enough for them - ever! Daniel interrupts their argument and says he thought Philip might be able to convince her to get the x-ray. She says she doesn't need either one of them to tell her what to do, then dissolves into a coughing fit again! When Philip tries to talk to her about her health, she promises not to interfere in his love life again. As he tries to steer the conversation toward her health again, she diverts his attention by hinting at a relationship between her and Daniel! Philip is flabbergasted. Kate makes this her excuse for leaving. Philip turns to Daniel and questions what he was thinking! Daniel says he never meant to hurt anyone. Philip is left in disbelief. Morgan comes over. "I couldn't help overhearing. Sorry." Philip takes her sympathy as a cue to tell her how good they could be together. She gives in, and they kiss.
A Boy Can Dream!
Kate arrives at the hospital and seeks out Kayla. Kate explains that she's been coughing and wants an antibiotic. Kayla insists on a chest x-ray, telling a put-out Kate that she can't just blindly treat her symptoms - she needs to find out what's causing them!
Daniel is working and realizes he forgot to book a racquetball court. He opens his phone to call, and sees a photo of Chelsea. He sighs. He walks to the trauma center just as Kate is rushing by to make a phone call. Daniel asks Kayla why Kate is there. Kayla offers him her file. After looking at it, he speaks to Kate, trying to convince her to let him do some tests. She argues. He asks if she's still afraid of hospitals. She denies it, and he tells her to at least get checked out for the sake of her family. She leaves, saying maybe she'll let them do a test someday!
Trauma Bites!
Tony meets with Kate inside the pub and tells her that he has moved back into the DiMera Mansion to take a stand. She asks what Anna thinks. Anna and Lexi appear. "Anna is against it!" Kate excuses herself, as does Anna, and Lexi and Tony begin to chat. She warns him not to go against their father. "This isn't good." Tony mentions that Stefano is doing renovations - probably rebuilding the laboratory. Lexi is upset, but Tony notes that EJ got an injunction for now. Tony presses her to understand why it is imperative for him to stay in the Mansion. Lexi doesn't like it. "You need to walk away now!" Tony says he has to stay to fight for a new legacy. Lexi wishes him luck. "You do realize that Father could annihilate you?!" Anna is speaking with Morgan who tells her of her troubles regarding Paul. She then says she needs a job. Anna notes that she might have something for her with one of their clients! Anna then notices Kate nearby, coughing loudly! She wants to take her to the hospital. Kate tells her if it doesn't go away in a few days she'll go to a doctor.
Joint Custody!
Lucas, Chloe and Kate arrive in the pub and as they sit down, Kate has a coughing fit. She then tells Lucas that he is free of Sami, and shouldn't get into another doomed relationship! Chloe rolls her eyes. Chloe tells Lucas she's not sitting there listening to his mother trash her. He asks her to go get the keys for the boathouse. Kate says she blames Chloe for what happened to Brady, but Lucas says she's not responsible for that. Kate then raises the issue of his custody battle - the judge will look into every aspect of his life. "Chloe's not mother material." Lucas points out that neither was she! He tells her to let him make his own decisions. Mickey arrives at the table just then to alert Lucas that the judge will be making a decision by the end of the day. He points out that Sami is sitting across the pub! Sami comes over and they are soon arguing about him taking Chloe to the Horton cabin. She says that if he gets visitation, she doesn't want Allie anywhere near Chloe! Lucas says she may be her step-mother one day, so she'd better get used to it! Nearby, Mickey briefs Kate on a business venture and she erupts in coughing again.
