Baby Baby, Who's Got The Baby?

Kate finds EJ in the morning room. She’s worried about Stefano. She knows there’s a recession but doesn’t want to cut costs when it comes to hiring a hit man. "I can't believe that bastard actually pointed the finger at him. And then this damn 'baby-baby who's got the baby’ game is driving me wild," she says. She tells EJ Sami and Rafe are searching for Sydney. EJ wonders what she has done with the baby. Chloe has her, Kate says. She has no idea why Sami and Rafe are looking for her. Why does EJ care? He threw Nicole and her daughter out of the house! It was the smartest move anyone has made in this little drama. EJ tells her to stay out of his business. Kate tells EJ that Stefano tried to have Rafe killed. EJ is about to leave and stops dead in his tracks. She asks, "Aren’t you curious about why?"

Chloe arrives at the mansion and Kate answers the door. Chloe heads into the morning room to find EJ while Kate follows asking, "Where’s Brisbane? Where’s whatever her name is? Where’s the baby?" EJ shuts the door after Chloe, who says he’s got to talk to Sami and Nicole. "I can’t be the one to tell you. It has to be them."

Sydney’s Really My Little Girl?

Roman offers EJ a seat at Salem PD and asks EJ what’s going on between him and Stefano. Roman sees what he did as a sign that he doesn’t want to follow Stefano down that road to hell! Kate arrives at Salem PD and tells EJ the police arrested her in her own home. Roman asks her where Stefano is but she doesn’t know. Roman assumes she helped him pack and says she’s now an accessory to a crime. Kate says Stefano was with her all day, so it’s impossible that he committed a crime. EJ doesn’t account for the things his father does but Roman says, "Like putting a hit on somebody that you have to stop?" When Roman leaves the room EJ asks Kate, "Mummy, I’d like to know where daddy is!" Nicole interrupts, demanding to know where Sydney is. Kate is about to tell Nicole who Sydney’s with but Roman drags Kate into a room to get a statement. Nicole wonders why EJ’s there. He shares that there was a shooting incident at the pier involving Rafe. Nicole hugs him, happy he’s alright. EJ saved Rafe’s life, he admits but Nicole’s not happy to hear that and asks why! EJ is flabbergasted and asks if she wanted him dead. "No!" She thought he could have died.

Back at Salem PD, EJ asks if she knew if Stefano put a hit on Rafe. She lies that she has no idea and asks if Stefano took Sydney away. Why would he, wonders EJ, and Nicole says he feels close to her. Kate returns and tells Nicole that Sydney’s with Chloe. Nicole calls Chloe, who wakes up and says she has Sydney but looks around for her and gasps! She’s gone! Roman tells them they’re free to go and Kate assumes Stefano didn’t leave on business. EJ says no, and Kate says an activity he wanted completed was interrupted by EJ. "You shouldn’t have been involved," she says.

Proof? What Proof?

At the mansion, Stefano calls somebody on the phone and asks if it’s done. Kate interrupts, wanting to know who he’s talking to. Stefano tells her the one rule is that she can’t ask questions about his business. Kate asks him to slow down at work but he can handle it and asks her to trust him.

Stefano packs up his things at the mansion and tells Kate he’s got to leave for a while. She should take charge of the house while he’s gone. "Really, me? Not EJ?" Stefano thinks she should consult with him but he’s not as trustworthy as he has been. He kisses and hugs her and tells her to be well, before leaving. As he leaves, Mary comes in from another room and hands Sydney off to Kate. Her sister has been admitted to the hospital and she’s got to leave. "When will you be back," asks Kate. Mary’s not sure and rushes out the door as Kate looks on. Later, Chloe arrives. Nicole asked her to come over. Kate has no idea why, but doesn’t care. She asks Chloe to babysit. Chloe is confused but agrees to it. Chloe and Kate exchange barbs and Kate asks Chloe to take Sydney home with her.

My Dear Katherine.

Stefano urges Nicole to tell EJ about Mia’s numerous lovers and that Chad’s not the father. Nicole worries Mia won’t lie for them but it doesn’t matter. Stefano reminds her that gossip infects everything. Once Nicole tells EJ, the word will spread.

Nicole leaves Stefano’s room and bumps into Kate. Nicole tells her not to upset Stefano when she visits. Kate goes into Stefano’s room and he says his day is complete. Kate ignores that and asks what he and Nicole are up to. Stefano says it’s a secret and asks if she’ll welcome Nicole back. Kate will do so, but Stefano will owe her! Stefano finds that amusing. She leans in for a kiss and Victor interrupts to see how Stefano’s doing. Stefano’s about to be released and Kate says she’s thrilled, feeling secure and loved. “My dear, dear Katherine,” says Stefano.

EJ is thrilled to receive Stefano home again. Kate will make sure the chef follows her directions for healthy meals. She runs off and Stefano tells EJ his marriage will bloom into a beautiful flower. He’s hoping EJ can bring happiness to his life, too. EJ sighs and says Nicole was just there with news that Chad’s not Sydney’s father. Stefano thinks this is terrible that a young woman could disgrace herself. EJ says Nicole wants him to accept Sydney into his life, now that they don’t know the biological father. EJ can’t do it.

Nom de Plume.

EJ walks in on Stefano and Nicole in Stefano’s room and demands to know what’s going on. Stefano thinks they should discuss the entire truth but Nicole says Lexi told her Stefano can’t deal with stress right now. EJ’s upset that Stefano brought her back. Nicole leaving was a good solution to their problems. Stefano says Sydney is a DiMera and belongs in her house with her family around. EJ disagrees but Stefano assures him he doesn’t know the whole story. Nicole threatens Stefano to think of this carefully. Kate interrupts, not happy to see Nicole’s return and kicks them all out. "I came as soon as I heard. You’re alive. Again." They kiss and she says everything’s going to be fine, now that she’s there. Stefano rants about losing Sydney and Kate jokes that he could buy another grandchild without a mother attached. Stefano doesn’t want to hear jokes about it and tells her that her entrance was perfection. At some point, he, Elvis and Nicole need to have a chat, but not now. Kate thinks he needs his rest. Stefano admits the nurses think that Kate tried to kill him. Kate has learned her lesson with Chloe. If she tried to kill him, he’d be dead. Stefano chuckles. He says he’s working on his strategy with Nicole and will tell her everything, soon. Kate says Chez DiMera is a bore without him and agrees to get Nicole for him.

Outside of Stefano’s room, EJ asks why Nicole returned and what Stefano was about to tell him when Kate arrived. Nicole has no idea and wonders if Stefano needs a psych evaluation. EJ laughs. "Wow," he says and shakes his head. EJ says Stefano suggested that he knew what Nicole was up to before he got sick. Nicole thinks that is ludicrous. "Of course. Because he’d tell me, wouldn’t he?" EJ asks why Stefano had her return but she has no idea. Kate exits Stefano’s room and tells Nicole that Stefano wants to see her – alone, and then he’d like to talk to EJ. It’s very important.

Nicole goes to Stefano and he threatens her to stay in Salem. He went to her wedding and doesn’t want to have to go to her funeral. Nicole gets the picture and leaves. Maxine arrives and gives Stefano a sedative, though she doesn’t think he deserves to sleep like a baby. Stefano’s amused and flirts. If only he weren’t married. EJ arrives and Stefano’s too tired to talk. He asks EJ to return tomorrow.

Outside of Stefano’s room, Nicole asks EJ to hold Sydney but he’s not interested, so Nicole calls Sami and leaves an ominous message. There’s something she needs to tell her before somebody else does!

I Kicked Her to the Bloody Curb!

Nicole goes into the DiMera mansion to get Sydney’s passport. She scares Kate, who asks how she dares to come there unannounced. She kicks her out, but Nicole wants to find something she left behind. She finds the passport in the desk but Kate rips it from her hands. Nicole takes it from her and Kate realizes what she’s up to. "Will you be leaving a forwarding address for your bills and your hate mail?" She wonders how EJ will feel about this and grabs the phone. Nicole threatens to seduce one of her sons if she doesn’t stay out of her life. It works and Kate puts the phone down, but tells her Stefano would be unhappy to see Sydney go. Family comes first – always- with the DiMera’s. Doesn’t she know that? Nicole doesn’t care. She’ll plow down anyone who gets in her way, including Kate, who calls her so gentile and a class act. She agrees not to tell anyone that Nicole’s leaving. It benefits Will, saying he’s involved in the custody suit and rushes Nicole out the door. Nicole reluctantly leaves Salem behind.
