Nick walks into the pub and happily yells out, "Billie, Lucas, Mrs. Roberts!" Kate waves Nick away and shakes her head because she doesn't want Lucas to know she's listening. Lucas is upset to find that Kate was listening in and goes off to call Marlena to check up on Sami. Kate sits down and Billie says she is happy to hear that Nick is working at the lab again, and asks after Chelsea, since she never sees her daughter! Kate notices the mega watt smile, and Nick tells her he has never been happier and that Chelsea is doing well. Once Nick leaves, Billie tells Kate about how Nick stole the hairbrush for Chelsea and how Roman let the kids walk. Kate is surprised that Roman was involved and appears overly interested. Billie asks her mom to promise to keep her lips sealed. Lucas comes back to the table momentarily to tell them he's off to the hospital.
Billie arrives at Hope's house and Hope tells her that she's getting Maggie to take care of Ciara while she goes off to Tinda Lau to be with her family. Billie wants to know what Bo thinks about this, and Hope dances around the question leaving Billie realizing that she either has to come with her or that they should stay put. After some argument about what to do, Billie convinces Hope to stay in Salem. She says she understands what Hope is feeling, after the DiMeras caused her to miss out on so much of Shawn's life. She reminds her that they did the same thing to Chelsea. Billie offers to stay with her and Ciara, and although Hope doesn't like what she's hearing, she knows Billie is right. She agrees not to go. Billie promises, "We're going to have our chance with EJ. Our time will come. When it comes, we're going to kick some DiMera butt." With a determined look on Hope's face, she replies, "Damn right," and they shake on it.
Billie rushes into the hospital and Chelsea explains what happened. Billie is supportive and tells her daughter, everyone makes mistakes. She hugs Chelsea and promises to help make things okay.
At St. Luke's, EJ wanders in at the most inopportune moment when Father Kelley awaits anyone in the church to speak now or forever hold their peace. EJ walks up the aisle slowly while everyone strains their necks to see what's going on. Lucas flinches while Sami clutches at her chest. Kate smugly looks on and Roman gets up from where he is seated. Nobody speaks a word! EJ finally takes a seat as the guests whisper around him. Father Kelley tells everyone that he'll take the silence to mean that he can make it official and Lucas and Sami say their vows. Lucas says, "I Lucas take you Samantha to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good time s and in bad, and in sickness and in heath. I will honor and love you all the Days Of Our Lives." EJ smirks and Kate rolls her eyes. Sami says, "Lucas please accept this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity, in the name of the father the son and the holy spirit. Father Kelley then pronounces the happy couple man and wife. They kiss passionately and Father Kelley announces them as Mr. and Mrs. Lucas and Samantha Roberts. The guests clap and the new Mr. and Mrs. Roberts make their way through family and friends hugs and kisses.
At the reception at Chez Rouge, Lucas gets up and shares an old Irish wedding prayer to Sami. "By the power that Christ brought from heaven, mayst thou love me. As the sun follows its course, mayst thou follow me. As light to the eye, as bread to the hungry, as joy to the heart, may thy presence be with me, oh one that I love, till death comes to part us. …" Sami and Lucas share their first dance and Sami tells Lucas that the prayer was lovely. She asks if there are any other surprises in store but he refuses to come clean! Maggie and Will fight over the camera and she asks him to set up the DVD. The guests tinkle their glasses in order for the happy couple to kiss, and they of course do so! Kate appears to be the only one at the reception who isn't happy! She drinks a martini while Billie asks her if she's looking forward to a vacation. Kate says she has her own Irish prayer and recites, "May the road rises up to slap her in the back and the wind always be at her face." Billie asks if she can't just accept defeat for once but she alludes that there is more in store and that the day isn't over yet!
Marlena asks the bride and groom to have a seat in front of the monitor and says they've prepared a surprise for them. Roman arrives and tells Sami he's looking forward to their dance. Roman takes Sami's hand in his and she bawls like a baby while the two dance to an Irish folk song! Behind them, Kate paces.
Once the dance is over, Marlena makes a speech about Sami and Lucas committing themselves to a new green world. She thanks those who have provided something to the eco-friendly wedding and apologizes that Eric (Sami's twin brother) couldn't be here but he had a part of this surprise. Maggie reads a note from Bill Horton telling Lucas and Sami to enjoy their day. She reads an excerpt, "It's where we've been that takes us to where we're going. Love, Dad"
They all watch the monitor as photos from the past are shown of Lucas and Sami. The two flash back to a time when Sami played hopscotch with Lucas when they were young and when Lucas picked Sami up to the prom and a few other montages of their youth. Suddenly, during the montage, the radar photo of EJ and Sami is shown. Roman notices that the license plate is Lexi's and Marlena gasps, "Look at the date. It's the day John was shot!"
Sami jumps up and gasps, "Turn it off." Lucas turns to Kate and asks if she is responsible for this but Kate says she only wishes. She goes on to say that it looks like the luck of the Irish has just run out. Sami tells everyone she can explain and that it's not what it looks like. She admits she didn't want to help EJ. "I just wanted to be with Lucas. I just wanted to be happy." Sami cries and apologizes.
Billie and Maggie discuss eco- friendly things that Sami has planned for the wedding, including plantable seat cards. Maggie raves about the chef at Chez Rouge. Chelsea interrupts and asks Billie to warn her when Nick shows up at the wedding so she can turn the other way and run. Billie asks if there is something else she's not telling her. Chelsea confesses that Nick isn't as easy to get out of her head as she thought. Willow wanders in and overhears the conversation. Billie and Chelsea ask her why she isn't in jail and Willow relays she has a friend who helped her out. She goes on to tell the ladies that she plans to hire a lawyer in order to prove her innocence. Chelsea threatens to find Maggie so she can throw her out of Chez Rouge. While she's gone, Willow takes one last chance to drag Chelsea through the mud. Chelsea returns and Billie's about to flip out on her but Chelsea relays that Maggie's going to call the police. Willow makes a move to the door and tells her not to bother. Once Willow has left, Billie asks her if she had Nick steal the hairbrush from the lab. Chelsea tells Billie that Willow made it all up and says, "Is that clear enough for you mom?" she then takes off.
Bo gets off the phone and tells Marlena, Hope and Roman that Philip took Claire and that now he has to run off to Tinda Lau to help Shawn find Belle, Claire and Philip. Once Roman and Bo are alone, Bo confesses that there was a shooting on Tinda Lau and that's why he has to rush to the island. Roman tells him to be careful and Bo promises to call when he hears anything. He leaves.
The wedding begins with Will and Chelsea walking down the aisle together. Family and friends are seated as Father Kelley presides and Marlena gets up to say a verse about truth during the wedding that makes Sami cringe.
