At the Kiriakis household, Philip and Brady confront Victor about his poor handling of the 'job situation'. Philip tells his father that he taught him that everything should be up front - he's a hypocrite for hiring Brady behind his back! Victor asks if he should have run it by him first so he could feel important. Philip sneers that only Victor should feel important. Victor says if he really feels that way about him, why work for him? Philip asks Victor if he wants him to quit. Victor admits that Brady could handle all his duties, but Brady pipes up that it's not going to happen! Victor expresses his disappointment that they are placing their egos before what is best for Titan! With that, Victor points at them, saying, "You're fired! Both of you!" Philip claps and says Victor's move was a stroke of genius. Victor sneers at Philip, saying, "You really think you're irreplaceable, don't you?" Philip says any idiot with a business degree could do the Tokyo deal! Brady agrees and they describe how they would set it up. Victor smirks, saying they've just proven they are a great team! He says with the two of them at the helm of Titan, the sky's the limit! Philip points out that they were just fired. Victor says he's a patient man - he'll wait for them to come back.
Victor has left, and Philip and Brady discuss the situation at Titan in the Kiriakis living room. Brady points out that the job market is tough right now, and Philip acknowledges that they make a good team. They agree to become partners and run the company together.
Chelsea shows up at the Kiriakis Mansion and asks Victor to fire Melanie Layton. Victor says she owns the rights to the alternative fuel project, and she's an asset - he can't let her go!
Brady and Philip face off in a room at the Kiriakis house. Philip isn't happy about Brady's appointment at Titan. Daniel walks into the room with Kate and she asks them what is going on. Philip says that Victor has arranged the seating at the table so as to try and appease him because he's not running the company anymore! Kate urges them to get along for Christmas, and they reluctantly agree. Just then, Victor walks in. They all sit down together and share a toast. Victor asks what happened to Daniel's hand, and if he can still operate. Daniel says he slammed his car door on it, and can't operate. Lucas takes a call and leaves the table. Philip and Brady agree that there should be no phones at the table. Victor says it bodes well for the family to see the two of them getting along. Victor then starts bashing Chloe as an 'unwelcome guest' - Kate defends her heartily. Lucas comes back in and says he needs to go, and Chloe whispers at him not to leave her there - he says he'll be back soon. Kate asks Daniel to sit beside Chloe to fill the gap!
Once Philip has left, Brady walks into the front hall with Victor and Kate. He says that Philip doesn't want him there, and neither does his ex-wife! He leaves. Out at the table, Chloe and Daniel discuss how everyone is wondering why they hate each other. He says he's going to leave, but Chloe urges him to stay and work through the awkwardness. She says she admires him for saving Kate's life and for being so kind. She then kisses his cheek!
At the Kiriakis mansion, Brady visits Victor to discuss Victor’s job offer. Victor asks him what he’s decided and Brady tells Victor that what seems like a good situation might actually not be. Victor suggests that his reluctance to accept the job has to do with staying in Salem. Brady tells Victor that the job offer meant the world to him, but he questions his ability to handle the pressure and family and stay clean. Brady finally says he can handle it and accepts the job. Victor encouragingly says he wouldn’t have offered it to him if he didn’t think that he could handle it. Brady tells Victor that he will tell Philip the news but Victor tells Brady to keep it to himself so that they can announce it at the Titan Christmas party instead.
Brady and Victor show up at Titan as Philip tries to kiss Stephanie. Philip greets Brady and says that it’s good to see him, but Brady says Philip just might change his mind about that. Philip gets a phone call from Daniel who gives him the good news. Philip thanks him and hangs up as Brady asks Stephanie if working with Philip is driving her crazy. Stephanie says Philip isn’t the problem. Philip shares the good news about Kate with everyone and goes to find Victor. Brady wonders if Stephanie and Philip are a couple but Stephanie playfully dismisses him and says they’re just friends. After Philip tells Victor Kate’s good news, Victor tells Philip that he has more good news: Brady has agreed to be Vice President at Titan and he wants Philip to announce it. Victor tells an annoyed Philip that he needs someone levelheaded to watch his back in case he gets emotionally involved. Clearly unhappy about Victor’s news, Philip asks what would happen if he doesn’t make the announcement? Victor threatens that if he refuses to make the announcement, Brady won’t be the Vice CEO. Philip says he understands as Melanie walks in. Philip tells Victor to make the announcement himself and storms off. Brady asks Victor what happened and figures that Philip didn’t know about his position. Victor says that changes nothing, but Brady warns that he wouldn’t bet on that and walks away.
Brady shows up to Titan and comments on how dark it is. Victor says they're going green and offers Brady a job of CEO. Brady is surprised and touched but unsure if he deserves Victor's faith. Brady wonders how Philip will take this but Victor assures him that Philip knows what's good for the company. Brady will consider it and get back to him.
Nearby, Victor arrives and seeing EJ, he goes to him and tells him he heard Nicole is having EJ's baby and thinks he should dump Nicole out on her butt. "Nicole is poison. She'll turn your life into a nightmare." EJ says they didn't love each other and he and Nicole are deeply in love. "Nicole doesn't love anybody but herself," says Victor, and calls EJ a fool for believing otherwise. Nicole likes money, and EJ needs to face that fact. EJ thanks him for the heads up, but isn't interested in listening to this.
Philip and Victor have it out at work as Stephanie listens. Philip accuses his father of wanting him to fail! He says he is quitting Titan, and Victor tells him that he thought he could handle this, but now he'll have to make other arrangements for the future of the company! Victor tells him to at least acknowledge the mistakes he's made - he passed on a deal that could have been huge. Philip says he cannot work with Melanie Layton! Victor is ashamed that Philip is prepared to sacrifice everything all because a woman got under his skin! Philip says he scrapped the project because Melanie's bad news! Victor says women have always been a problem for him. Philip walks out.
