VICTOR KIRIAKIS'S HISTORY

Victor Kiriakis arrived in Salem in 1985 as a Drug Lord and owner of a pornography ring. This information was not privy to other Salemites of course! He dated Kimberly Brady and coerced her into having sex with him, before she put an end to things and went back to Shane. Victor had a past with Caroline Brady during her marriage to Shawn Brady Sr. The affair produced a son - Bo Brady. Caroline didn't want to hurt Shawn or Bo, so the two hid the truth for years, until eventually the truth came out. In 1986, Kimberly found herself pregnant. Victor thought that the child could be his, but later found out that his blood type didn't match the child's.

Meanwhile, Bo had learned of Victor's crime organization and moved into the mansion with him under the pretense that he wanted to get to know his dad. He was really trying to bring Victor down!

Savanah Wilder, and Steve "Patch" Johnson were arrested for their parts in the crime organization in Salem, but all were freed when Victor blackmailed Larry Welch into taking the fall for everything. Victor knew Larry killed Megan and used it against him.

In 1987, Caroline pressed for Victor to forget he was Bo's father and to leave the family alone, as the stress was too much for the family to bear. Victor agreed to it and had papers forged that stated he was sterile. Victor disowned Bo for Caroline's sake, and Bo left Salem with Hope.

Victor searched for a valuable computer disk which gave a location to a rare mineral. He hired Kai (undercover ISA Agent) to help him find it, but Kai was crooked as was the head of the ISA at the time, Steven Hopkins. This disk was found by Senator Harper Deveraux, who was later shot by Steve Johnson, (who thought that the rifle had blanks in it). Little did he know that Victor changed them with real bullets. Because of this, Steve and Kayla went on the lam. Kai was later captured and confessed to major crimes. Crooked Simon Hopkins was killed by Roman Brady (John Black), but the disk was not recovered.

Later Diana Coleville started to get close to Victor to try to recover the disk. Her mother 'Serena' ended up finding it and Philip Coleville was killed, so Diana ended up with his riches. Serena schemed along with Victor to steal the Coleville fortune from Diana by trying to get Diana to marry Victor. When this didn't work, they tried to fake Serena's kidnapping, in order to get Diana to give the kidnapper's her fortune. When that didn't work, after the assets were frozen, Diana was kidnapped for real by a terrorist group! She was eventually rescued and enlightened about her mother and Victor's schemes.

When Angelica Devereaux (Jack's stepmother) became pregnant, Victor suspected that his nephew Justin was the father. Victor proposed to Angelica, with thoughts of passing the child off as his own but Angelica instead married Neil Curtis. Victor was livid and ended up wrecking their marriage.

It was 1989 when Victor teamed up with Marina Toscano to uncover the Toscano family treasure. With each of them holding a part of the treasure, (Marina knew where the key was, and Victor knew where the treasure was hidden) they started the search, with Marina double crossing Victor! She hid his key in Kayla Brady Johnson's home and when Marina turned up dead, Victor kidnapped Kayla and told Steve he would never see his wife again unless he handed over the key. Steve was clueless as to its whereabouts and when he did find it, (and released Kayla) he found that the treasure had vanished.

Victor realized that his daughter Isabella killed Marina, after watching an incriminating tape. He did some splicing to the tape, hid the real tape in his attic then had Kayla framed for the murder. John Black and Isabella discovered the tape and although Kayla was convicted and sentenced to jail, Kayla was let go - since Isabella had blocked the incident, and it was later found that it was accidental. She was not charged. However, Victor was arrested and charged with withholding evidence!

Victor decided to go legit and started a search for Bo. Upon Bo's return, came his acceptance of who his father was. Victor made peace with Justin, but then things went awry and he had a stroke, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. He fell for Carly Manning, his physical therapist - who was in love with Bo! They became engaged even though she and Bo were in love. Victor intercepted a love letter that Bo wrote, before the wedding, begging Carly not to wed Victor. Victor sent her a forged letter back from Bo, encouraging the union, thus breaking Carly's heart. Bo showed to the wedding toasting the two with poisoned champagne - meant for Carly.

Victor tried to find a serum for Bo, even offered to trade a file he had on 'John Black' to Lawrence Alamain for the cure to the poison. The deal fell through but Carly was able to get a sample of the cure and created a cure for Bo. She ended up leaving Victor for Bo. An enraged Victor attempted to kill Bo via an elevator incident. As a result, Bo and Isabella disowned Victor.

In 1992, Isabella passed on due to cancer. He started to see Vivian Alamain, then hired Kate Roberts to take charge of Titan Industries. Victor opened his home to Lucas and Kate and the two fell in love and married - until Vivian found out that Kate was still married to Curtis Reed. Victor promised to re-marry Kate only if she had a child with him. Since Kate had issues conceiving, she went to a fertility clinic. Vivian also went to the same clinic and ended up switching embryos and was implanted with Victor's embryo. She tried what she could to get Victor to marry her, and during a wedding rehearsal, (it was real) Vivian stood in for Kate, and Victor winded up marrying the wrong woman. Later, when Victor tried to marry Kate, Vivian went into labor and gave birth to Philip. Kate found out that Philip was Victor and her child, and threatened to expose Vivian upon her return from a business trip. The plane crashed and Kate was presumed dead. Victor carried on with Vivian, and Kate walked in and told Victor the whole story. Victor kicked Vivian out then suffered a stroke. Kate continued to run Titan while Vivian tried to take her place.

Sami found evidence of Kate's past as a call girl - before Salem. She threatened Kate to come clean to Victor, and when she showed Victor a photo, Victor, who was still in a wheel chair, collapsed. He was sent to a nursing home for care, and didn't return until 1999, where he recovered completely.

Meanwhile, Kate's son Lucas married a gold digging Nicole Walker, who realized that Victor was the one with the money. Once she dumped Lucas and started to go for Victor, it was almost too easy. Kate was flirting with Nicholas Alamain. Victor tried to put a stop to the affair and took her and Lucas to Italy. Upon their return, Nicole schemed to get Victor to marry her. Kate put a hit on Victor, after his controlling ways became too much to bear. She burned down his mansion, but he escaped and left her destitute while he moved on with Nicole.

Nicole proved herself to be trouble with a capital T. She had a thing for Austin Reed, and then his grandson, Brady Black! Victor's jealousy turned to rage. She started boozing and he started to control her well into their relationship. The two married on New Year's Eve. Colin Murphy was murdered just outside the ceremony and Victor knew that Nicole had something to do with it. He blackmailed her, and offered her $100,000 to leave town and get out of his life, but she turned him down. Victor prepared to divorce Nicole, hiding divorce papers - precluding her from getting a dime - in his private safe. She teamed up with Jan Spears in order to change the documents in his safe, and had Jan electrocute him in the bathtub. He "died" while waiting for paramedics to come, but just like the other victims of the 'Salem Stalker' he showed up alive and well, on a remote island called 'MelaSwen" (New Salem spelled backwards!) He was held by Tony DiMera and while there he and Caroline grew closer, but when back in Salem, things went back to the way they were.

Kate went to Victor in 2006 to tell him that Philip's daughter Claire (with wife, Belle Black Kiriakis) was really Shawn Douglas Brady's child. He tried to do the right thing, and get Kate to tell Philip the truth. He reminded her of the mistakes he made in the past with the lies to protect his true identity from his son Bo. Kate pleaded with him to protect Philip, and against his better judgment, he agreed to keep quiet. When a DNA test revealed Claire to be Shawn's child, Belle divorced Philip. He went back into the war and was badly burned when his jeep was bombed in Germany. He was flown to a veteran's hospital in Atlanta, where Victor found him. Victor secretly flew to the hospital in Atlanta and removed Philip from the hospital then took him home and hid him out while Philip recovered. He paid a top plastic surgeon from Montreal Quebec to provide Philip with a 'face transplant'. When Philip's friends, Max Brady and Mimi Lockhart went searching for Philip's whereabouts, they found a photo resembling him in a news article. They went snooping and revealed that Philip was missing from the Atlanta hospital after notifying Victor of this. He lied to them and told them that Philip was sent overseas by the military. The two saw right thorough him and went to Roman Brady and Kate Roberts with their thoughts. Victor found out, when Kate's probing lead to Philip. Victor told her the whole story about Philip and arranged to have Max and Mimi kidnapped in order to keep them silenced until he could get Philip to Montreal Quebec, in order to get him surgery for a new face. During this process, Victor had been bringing Claire over to the mansion in the secret room to visit with Philip. He started scheming to get full custody of Claire in order to make Philip happy.

Wednesday, October 01 2008: Slam Dunk!

Victor tries to see Caroline at Salem PD. He's not able to and when Kayla arrives, she tells him that his help is the last thing Caroline needs right now. He only wants to help her, he says. Kayla knows he cares for her but the DA has it out for her and he doesn't need more ammunition. Victor is appalled. He's never done anything to hurt her, intentionally, and doesn't intend to start now. He leaves and Steve arrives. She explains what happened. She doesn't trust Victor. Neither does Steve, but he feels Victor has Caroline's best interest at heart.

Caroline paces her cell until Bo arrives. She's stir crazy, she admits and asks when they'll let her out. "I'm sorry, Ma. They're not." She's surprised, but he tells her that they've other suspects, but since she was found holding the murder weapon with the dead body, it looks bad. She understands. "That doesn't mean this is over," Bo says. They'll try to find a print on the knife that doesn't belong to her. She worries what will happen if they don't find any other fingerprints on the knife. Bo says they'll find another way out. Caroline worries he'll tamper with evidence. If he does, she'll turn him in herself. She refuses to let him throw away his career for her. She is innocent. An officer comes to tell Bo that someone is there to visit. He says Bo will allow it. Victor arrives. Bo allows five minutes with her and he tells her that he'll call Jean Briscoe, a good lawyer. She has Mickey, and doesn't want him to do anything. She recalls the Philip and Paul Hollingsworth mess and asks him to have faith in the justice system. He reminds her that she was found holding the murder weapon, and in the eyes of the DA, it's a slam dunk! Caroline still thinks the justice system will come through, but Victor tells her he's going to fix this. There' s nothing anyone can do about it! Caroline doesn't want him to do anything, but being here for her means so much. Victor tells her he never stopped caring about her and never will. He pleads with her to trust him but she's not sure she can. She tells him she cares for him still and asks him to let her handle it this way. Victor asks if she's going to put her faith in God. "He's never let me down," she says, and hopes she can say the same about him. Victor agrees to allow the law to handle this and promises he'll be there for her. Caroline calls him a wonderful man and friend and they share a laugh before he leaves.

Kayla worries about how vulnerable Caroline is, but Steve knows that the police are looking closely at Melanie and Nicole. Kayla is shocked but he explains that she is married to Trent. Bo arrives and tells them they've no evidence for Nicole. Bo gets a document from the lab. It doesn't tell them much but they've got more tests on the way. Kayla is upset that Bo has allowed Victor to visit Caroline. She worries he wants her back. Bo tells Kayla they're past all that, but Kayla thinks Victor has always cared for Ma. She takes a moment to call Kimberly to share the news about Caroline, and afterward, they learn that Caroline's fingerprints are the only ones on the knife! The DA's office tells Bo that Caroline will be arraigned and charges with Trent's murder. Victor has come up from the jail cell after talking with Caroline and overhears Bo. He doesn't look too happy.

Monday, September 22 2008: You Disgust Me.

Nicole flashes back to admitting the truth to Bo and Hope about her marriage to Trent. As she mumbles that if Victor finds out she's married to Trent, she'll have to give the money back, Victor finds her outside the pub and asks her what she's going on about. "Victor, we have to talk," she tells him.

At the pub, Bo, Kayla, Hope and Steve blast Max for attacking Trent. They ask him to apologize, or he may end up in jail. Max refuses. He doesn't feel sorry for what he did. Melanie yells again that she'd kill Trent with her bare hands, if she could. Trent denies pimping her out. She retorts that if Max's friend didn't come when he did, Claude would have raped her. Bo, Max and Steve go to Melanie and claim not to have seen the attack. A disgusted Caroline kicks out Trent. She cannot believe that he didn't protect his daughter instead of using her to pay off a gambling debt. Melanie starts to cry and runs out of the pub, with Nick following. Caroline continues her rant. It makes her sick that he's Max's father. Steve tells Trent to leave, but Trent tells the family that Melanie is a pathological liar. Max rants that Trent is a sick SOB. Trent yells that nobody runs his name through the mud, and leaves. Nicole and Victor arrive and overhear the conversation.

Bo tells Caroline to stay away from Trent, and Hope tries to relax Caroline, while Bo goes to Victor. Bo explains the incident with Max and asks if it's true that Trent is Max's father and he tried to prostitute his daughter? Bo says that unfortunately it's true, but he's there to talk about Nicole, not Max. Nicole takes Victor outside and Bo goes to Hope and lets her know that Nicole wants to tell Victor on her own.

Outside the pub, Nick comforts Melanie, who says that her father never loved her. Chelsea watches from nearby, as Nick holds Melanie close. Trent comes by, just as Melanie admits she has nothing now. Nick tells her she has friends, and Trent says, "And family…" He wants to talk to her, privately. She agrees. Against his better judgment, Nick allows it and Trent apologizes for what Claude did to her. She tells him that Claude's in jail for attempted rape and his friend is in jail for attempted murder. She's sure Claude blames Trent! Trent goes on about the debt. He knows he's in trouble. Melanie is shocked that he only cares about the money, but Trent reminds her that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Melanie's nothing like him, she claims.

Outside the pub, nearby, Nicole tells Victor her past has finally caught up with her. "It usually does," he says. Nicole tells him that Victor was her third husband. She was married to Trent Robbins. He's not surprised, he admits and she tells him they're still legally married. Victor is quiet for a time and Nicole asks if he wants to know the story. He isn't interested, but she plows on anyway. She tells him that she used the name 'Misty Circle', which causes Victor to smirk. She explains that it was her porn name that her father forced her to take, and talks about her abuse at the hands of Trent. Victor listens, as she explains she left him and changed her name to her mother's maiden name, Walker. Victor starts to laugh. He finds her entertaining and her sad story won't let her keep his money. Nicole earned it, she says. He tells her to brace herself. She's going to be dirt poor again. Nicole's stomach lurches and she runs off to become physically sick.

Max interrupts Trent and Melanie's talk and Trent leaves, while they go back into the pub. Nicole goes to Victor's table. He asks if she's feeling better. "Like you care," she says. Victor wants his money back, even the money she spent! Nicole tells him that's not going to happen. Victor gets up to leave and tells her she'll be hearing from his lawyer. "Trent, you are so going to pay for this," she mutters, angrily.

Back inside the pub, Steve, Kayla and Stephanie discuss Trent. Steve wishes he'd have gone to Paris and asks why Stephanie didn't call him. Stephanie explains there was no time. She's worried about Max. Talk gets back to Melanie and Stephanie admits that she thinks Melanie is going to be trouble.

A miffed Chelsea enters the pub and Stephanie goes to her and asks what's wrong. Chelsea says, "Melanie's out there crying on Nick's shoulder. Could it be any more obvious?" Stephanie explains what just went down and Chelsea apologizes, but calls Melanie's tears pathetic. "You know you can admit that you're jealous," says Stephanie. Chelsea says she simply doesn't want to see Nick get hurt. She cares about Nick. They're friends and she doesn't think Melanie is right for him. Stephanie thinks she ought to let this go, unless she wants to get back together with him. Chelsea goes to Nick and asks if he's alright. "I will be, once I get Trent away from Melanie," he says, and leaves. Nearby, Bo asks both Max and Caroline to stay away from Trent, but Max can't make that promise. "I don't make promises I can't keep," he says.

Victor goes to Hope and Bo and is happy that Nicole came clean. He thinks it's nice to have some good news for a change and admits Kate was in the hospital. Chelsea is worried, but Victor explains that she has a cough. Chelsea wants to see her, and will head to the hospital tomorrow. Victor tells Bo that he won't press fraud charges against Nicole, but he will force her to pay back all of his money. He blames Trent for all of this. He's pleased that he got what's his but it doesn't forgive what Trent did to Nicole. Chelsea takes a seat and explains to Bo and Hope all about what happened in Paris and how he pimped Melanie out and how Nick got shot. Bo goes to make a call while Hope comforts Chelsea. She says it was awful when she saw Nick all bloodied. All she could think about was how she could lose him. Hope realizes Chelsea still cares about him. Chelsea shrugs. "We're friends." Hope asks, "You still love him, don't you?"

Nearby, Max introduces Melanie to Caroline. Nick explains the pub is a local landmark and Melanie says it has a lot of character. Caroline wants her to feel at home and calls her family. Melanie's thankful. Max asks Caroline to look after her and leaves to the kitchen. Stephanie watches and follows him there, but returns to her table, shortly thereafter and tells her parents he's gone. Meanwhile, Caroline brings Melanie up to her room to get settled.

Outside the pub, Victor calls his henchman. "Nico, there's something I want you to do! It concerns Trent Robbins!"

Nearby, Trent talks with someone on his cell phone as Nick watches, nearby. Nicole comes out of the pub and tells Trent he owes her. Trent snidely tells her that this is not her problem. She says it will be.
