Belle stops by the garage, asking Abby if she has seen Shawn or Philip. Belle explains that without Claire, her life would be very different, and Abby has a puzzled look on her face...¦ thinking of what Chelsea said about the people in the confidential files she read about!
Chelsea reads confidential information from a file!
Mimi and Shawn meet with Phil and Belle at their loft. Mimi reads out her proposition for shared custody and scheduling. Shawn and Belle disagree with Mimi and Phil about the scheduling, and the couples argue about what is fair. Shawn and Phil storm out, angry that things are not going each other's way.
The girls stay behind and argue that Belle is not over Shawn. Belle tries to convince Mimi that it's better for the father's to have full access to their children. Mimi brings up Belle and Shawn's kiss, and her lack of trust for her old friend. Mimi doesn't want to tell the kids about the mix up for fear of confusing the children. Since Belle has been through it before, she doesn't want to lie to the kids.
Goodbyes are never easy.
In Shawn's office, Belle apologizes for all the tension she has created with he and Mimi. She tells him how her parent's have made her see the light, and her life is with Philip. She finds it difficult to say goodbye, but Shawn assures her that they'll still be friends. He goes on to convince her that he married Mimi for love, and will stay with her. She tells him she accepts this, and wishes she could take back some of the nasty things she has said and done to Mimi. They remember that Mimi has loved Shawn a long time, and smile about the past, when Shawn gave Mimi her first kiss! (In Paris, when they were there for Greta's coronation.)
Before she leaves, Belle gives Shawn his grandmother's ring. She admits to stealing it, not wanting it to go to Mimi. She had hopes that if she had the friendship ring, the two would someday, be together. He tells her he can now give it to Mimi.
Homecoming!
At the penthouse, John and Marlena greet each other with a big hug and kiss. Marlena has been gone to New York for a few days, for seminars. They talk about their time in Europe, and at Green Mountain Lodge. Marlena apologizes for all she put John through, but he tells her it's over, when Belle walks in! Mother and daughter share a cheerful reunion.
Belle tells her parents of all the changes in her life with the pregnancy and Shawn being the father! John and Marlena are stunned and have a difficult time believing it. She shares Phil's concerns that someone has done this on purpose, and admits her happiness at being pregnant with Shawn's baby. She believes it's a sign that they should be together. Marlena disagrees, stating facts that Shawn is married to Mimi and that it's not a sign. John agrees, and the two ask her to find a way to come to terms with things and move on with Phil and their children. Belle is emotional, and realizes she has messed things up, but unsure of how to move on. Belle knows what she needs to do, and leaves.
At the garage, Mimi and Shawn discuss custody arrangements and schedules, when Belle drops in unexpectedly. She's upset, thinking they should all discuss it together, but Mimi tells her that she's discussing it alone with her husband first, and doesn't trust Belle anymore, ...¦and Belle interrupts to tells them both that she has come to say goodbye to Shawn. Mimi leaves the two to talk, alone. (With Mimi listening in behind the door.)
Getting it all out!
At the hospital, Philip leaves the room for a moment to sign insurance paperwork, so Mimi asks Shawn to leave her and Belle to talk.
Once Shawn and Phil are gone, Mimi starts to yell at Belle, telling her that she isn't going to let her steal Shawn from her. She accuses Belle of using her unborn baby to break up two marriages. Belle swears that she is devoted to Phil, and Claire and wants to get home to them. Mimi's rant worsens, as she goes on about how Belle is a spoiled princess who feels that she's entitled to her cake and everyone else's. She tells Belle that she's the reason she lost Rex, but she'll be darned if she's going to let her be the reason that she loses Shawn.
Love and lies!
Mimi breaks down, telling Belle and Shawn that she saw them kissing. She thinks it's time they were all honest about everything, and reveals that she read Belle's online diary and knows that she is still in love with Shawn. Belle is angered, by her admission, but Mimi doesn't care. She rants and raves, demanding Belle admits to her face that she is still in love with Shawn. Shawn tries to muzzle Mimi, explaining that he has concerns for Belle's health, but Mimi continues her rant. She wants an explanation, so Belle gives her one. She tells Mimi and Shawn that she is in love with Shawn and that she probably always will be! Upset that her suspicions have come true, Mimi becomes very sarcastic, asking Belle if she missed a few parts in her marriage vows, such as honoring and forsaking all others. She calms down enough to allow Belle to explain that at the time, when she wrote the entry in question, she had been on hormones and these hormones made her thoughts and feelings uncontrollable, so when she originally wrote that passage, she felt that it was not her true feelings, but just her being confused, due to these pregnancy hormones. Belle tells Mimi that she is committed to her marriage to Philip, but Mimi doesn't believe her. Belle and Shawn tell Mimi that they only kissed out of relief that her baby was fine, not love. Mimi starts to crack, telling Shawn that she wants to believe him, when Philip walks in. As he hugs Belle, he takes in the atmosphere, noticing how nervous they all look. He turns from Belle, to Shawn then to Mimi, asking them what's up.
