While Belle is gone, Roman arrives at Marlena's and wants to discuss Crystal. Marlena puts him off until Belle and Claire leave. Roman has found out that medallion that the woman is wearing in the photo she found is of Celtic design and the mark of the warrior woman. Marlena says she's sure there is more to meet the eye regarding Crystal. She is intrigued that she knew about this photo of John and the woman when only she and Hope knew about it. Though they agree Crystal's a con-woman, Marlena doesn't think she's up to no good. Roman thinks Stefano's involved and asks her to keep him posted while he seeks more information. After Roman leaves, Marlena calls Stefano's cell phone, which was left down in the lab, beside the house guest, who lies under a sheet. The guest picks up the phone and listens as Marlena asks if Stefano's there. After a time, he hangs up, leaving Marlena perplexed.
Belle and Claire arrives at Sami's apartment. After they head inside, Crystal moves out from the shadows and calls to someone on her cell phone. She says, "I found her. Tell him I'll wait for him here."
Inside Sami's place, Belle tells Sami she confessed to Shawn that she slept with Philip. He wants a divorce. Sami is shocked but is certain Shawn will forgive her in time. Sami says not to be so hard on herself. She made a mistake. "Now I know you're not perfect!" Sami jokes. The ladies giggle and Sami answers the door to Crystal and Rob, who claim they just moved in and need Belle to move her car from their spot. Belle apologizes and packs up Claire and leaves.
Outside Sami's door, Crystal and Rob accost Belle. They ask that she not be alarmed. "You need to come with us," Crystal says. Belle panics and calls for Sami. This causes Crystal and Rob to panic and leave. Philip comes to the rescue and they rush inside the apartment, where Philip explains that Chloe has people after her who are looking for Belle as well. He wants to put a bodyguard on her but Belle refuses. They leave when Sami dashes off to get Johnny. After they leave, Lucas calls but Sami doesn't pick up, so he leaves a message to Sami that he loves her.
I'm Feeling Romantical
"I cheated on you....I slept with Philip," Belle confesses to Shawn as the tears run down her face. She tells him that she loves him, but he turns his back. She wanted the new year to start on a note of honesty, she explains, but he doesn't want to talk to her. He demands to know when she slept with Philip. She explains that it was before they were married and hopes that they can get past this and remain a family. Can he forgive her? He's forgive her for a lot already and doesn't feel like he owes her anything now. Did she even think of their daughter when she was in bed with Philip? She continues telling him that she loves only him and doesn't want Philip in their lives. Shawn can't stop from blaming himself for all of this...he has trusted her too many times. No matter how many times she says otherwise, she has consistently proven that she doesn't know how to love. It's obvious to him that she doesn't believe in him or "us". He admits that he still loves her, but the only thing he wants now is a divorce! They never should have gotten married in the first place. He tells her to go to her mom's house and leaves her in tears. Once she has her coat on, he reappears. "I thought you'd fight for us," she sorrowfully comments. "There's nothing left to fight for," he admits. She walks out and cries again. Philip appears and she asks him to leave. "What happened?" he asks. She tells him that she and Shawn broke up. He warns her that Chloe hinted that she may be in danger. "Chloe can got to Hell and so can you!" she shouts before running off.
As Chloe prepares to leave the police station, Marlena arrives and acts threatening. She tries to pry answers out of Chloe but the opera singer tells her that she'll have to talk to her lawyer. When she walks out, Marlena is ready to run after her but Roman keeps her back. When she goes home, Belle appears and tells her the bad news. Marlena says that Shawn just needs time. "Forgiveness is never too much to expect from someone you love," she says.
Bo, Hope, Kayla and Steve head over to the pub where they eat and drink with Shawn. They toast to him and wish him all the love and happiness he deserves. Everyone rings in the new year and kisses as they sing. At Chez Rouge, Philip and Chloe look out over the town. He can't stop smiling as he raises a glass of champagne and looks forward. Meanwhile, Marlena tucks her daughter in and talks to John's photo. "I made a promise to put this family back together and God help anyone that tries to stop me!" she vows to him.
I cheated on you. I slept with Philip!
Shawn and Belle decorate the Brady pub for a New Year's Eve celebration. Shawn proudly tells Belle how happy he is that she publicly denounced Philip. Belle thinks she should have done it a long time ago and hugs Shawn. As Shawn holds her, he says his New Year resolution is to trust his beautiful wife. A guilty Belle flashes back to kissing Philip. Outside the pub, Philip watches the display until he takes a call from Chloe who request help. She thinks she's about to be arrested! Philip tells her to go back to her hotel. There's not much he can do. "Call me if you're busted,' he tells her as he continues to gaze at Shawn and Belle.
Back inside the pub, Caroline needs Shawn's help because Pop's back isn't the best. He leaves and Philip takes this chance to come talk to Belle about their future. Belle tells him she thought she made herself clear. Her future is with Shawn. "Get out!" Philip needs convincing and takes her face in his hand. He thinks he can convince her otherwise but she pushes him away. She says she meant what she said at Chez Rouge and wants to spend the rest of her life with Shawn. Philip holds her hand to his heart and then her own. He says her heart is beating as fast as his own because she loves him as much as he loves her. Belle counters that she loves Shawn. They argue why she chose Shawn over him and Belle says she loves everything about Shawn, especially the way his hands feel when she runs them all over her body. She asks him to get out but Philip doesn't believe her. Shawn comes out of the kitchen and asks Philip to get out. Belle apologizes. This is her fault she says and they can't move on until the truth is out there. With tears in her eyes, Belle says she should have told him weeks ago. She builds it up by saying it was only one time and she should have told him before they married but she was a coward. "I cheated on you. I slept with Philip!" she says, sobbing.
Outside the pub, Chloe calls Philip from Salem PD. He tells her to keep her mouth shut and he'll be right there.
Christmastime in Salem
Back at Alice's house, Doug sings a lovely rendition of "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas" while Chelsea and Nick arrive. Billie and Ali, Belle, Shawn, Claire, Bo, Hope and Ciara, Chelsea and Nick and Alice all listen intently. We see Alice by the piano in a chair and with Hope beside her, Alice holds Tom's photo to her and says, "Merry Christmas Tom". The others say, "Merry Christmas!"
Outside the dry cleaners, Marlena and Steve watch the snow fall.
Marlena lays the smackdown!
Stephanie and Cordy arrive at Chez Rouge to say hello to Kay and Steve and give them a present for allowing her to stay with them at Christmas and tells Kayla and Steve she'll be off to be with her own family in two days. Max shows up bearing a present for Hope's birthday. Bo can't find Hope, so Steph goes off in search. Max follows and wants to know why she's ignoring him. Stephanie is snippy with him and says not everything is about him! She leaves him standing with his mouth open, where Steve finds him. Nearby, Belle and Shawn kiss under the mistletoe while Max tells Steve that he and Steph were getting along well but suddenly Stephanie wasn't into him. Steve is confused. He knows that Steph has feelings for him and thinks she's hiding her feelings. He admits that he got Stephanie the job at Cheatin' Heart so she could be closer to Max! He asks an amazed Max to keep quiet about it. Max grins. He's happy for the vote of confidence and Steve says he knows that Max has a penchant for the ladies. He threatens Max that if he hurts Steph, he'll come after him.
Doug and Julie arrive at the party and watch Belle and Shawn kissing under the mistletoe. Julie asks Doug to go get a drink with her and find more mistletoe. Hope and Bo dance around the table and Shawn tells Belle he thinks the party is a hit. Bo finds mistletoe and kisses Hope while everyone watches and cheers them on!
