Roman and Bo arrive at Max's room with a search warrant. Max and Stephanie are surprised and Stephanie tells Roman this is insane. "He's your brother." Roman calls him a suspect in a murder case, and an officer finds a shirt belonging to Max, with blood all over it. Max shares that the blood came from Trent, when they had an altercation, a few nights ago. "I know this looks bad," he says. Bo is angry. "Why didn't you tell us this before?" Max denies killing Trent, but Bo has to bring him downtown.

Max and Stephanie are taken to Salem PD and Stephanie waits outside Roman's office while Roman demands Max tell them everything. The fibers on Trent's body were from Max's shirt and the blood from Trent Robbins.

A Little Outpatient Surgery...

Thursday, October 02 2008

Roman , Kayla, Mickey and Bo take Caroline to Roman's office and ask her if there is any detail she may have missed that will lift suspicion off of her and allow them to find the real killer. They ask her to recall events leading up to this, so she tells them of her relationship with Trent leading up to the night's slaying. She tells them of her warning. She'd do anything to protect Max and if he hurt her son, he'd have to answer to her. She shares their run-ins and how she told Trent to stay out of the pub. Finally, she shares how she threw him out, and remembers telling him again to leave them alone, after Max returned from Paris. They all think she was protecting Max and understand that. She tells them that she argued with him, the night that he died, when she refused his entrance into the pub.

Max arrives and Kayla fills him in on what's happening with their Ma. He's worried and angry at Trent for causing trouble even after death. He talks to Caroline, later, and she tells Max she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Max wonders if Trent sought her out after he was attacked for a reason. Roman ponders about this. "Maybe he was trying to tell you who stabbed him!" Bo and Roman think they need to explore this and since Hope says mass was let out around that time, they may have witnesses. Caroline cries as she recalls Trent's face when he approached her. She says it was eerie. She recounts cleaning the pub that night and we see a flashback that we never saw the first time. Trent surprises Caroline at the pub and wants to see Max and Melanie but she asks him to leave them alone and says he left Max so he had a better life. He's been following the Brady family for a long time and they're not perfect. Caroline agrees but they never destroyed anyone along the way, she yells. She admits to Bo, Mickey and Roman, that her temper got the better of her. They think she was protecting her family, but she disagrees. "That's not all." Mickey leaves and she explains that she tried to call the police but Trent grabbed the phone and threw it across the room. Caroline picked up a knife (Same one that Nicole saw earlier that someone was using to cut lemons?) and threatened him with it. She admits to having murder in her heart. She cries that she threatened him, but didn't kill him. Bo believes her. Roman asks off the record what happened next. "We had a few words and he left." She doesn't know who he saw next. Mickey returns and says there are witnesses. Someone saw Caroline at the pub, holding a knife on Trent! Roman comments they'd better find the real killer, and fast.

Kayla and Max discuss Melanie, outside Roman's office, and Max says Melanie thinks Max killed Trent. Max is upset that things didn't go according to his master plan of meeting his sister and having a rock solid bond, straight away. Kayla thinks these things take time.

Slam Dunk!

Wednesday, October 01 2008

Caroline paces her cell until Bo arrives. She's stir crazy, she admits and asks when they'll let her out. "I'm sorry, Ma. They're not." She's surprised, but he tells her that they've other suspects, but since she was found holding the murder weapon with the dead body, it looks bad. She understands. "That doesn't mean this is over," Bo says. They'll try to find a print on the knife that doesn't belong to her. She worries what will happen if they don't find any other fingerprints on the knife. Bo says they'll find another way out. Caroline worries he'll tamper with evidence. If he does, she'll turn him in herself. She refuses to let him throw away his career for her. She is innocent. An officer comes to tell Bo that someone is there to visit. He says Bo will allow it. Victor arrives. Bo allows five minutes with her and he tells her that he'll call Jean Briscoe, a good lawyer. She has Mickey, and doesn't want him to do anything. She recalls the Philip and Paul Hollingsworth mess and asks him to have faith in the justice system. He reminds her that she was found holding the murder weapon, and in the eyes of the DA, it's a slam dunk! Caroline still thinks the justice system will come through, but Victor tells her he's going to fix this. There' s nothing anyone can do about it! Caroline doesn't want him to do anything, but being here for her means so much. Victor tells her he never stopped caring about her and never will. He pleads with her to trust him but she's not sure she can. She tells him she cares for him still and asks him to let her handle it this way. Victor asks if she's going to put her faith in God. "He's never let me down," she says, and hopes she can say the same about him. Victor agrees to allow the law to handle this and promises he'll be there for her. Caroline calls him a wonderful man and friend and they share a laugh before he leaves.

Kayla worries about how vulnerable Caroline is, but Steve knows that the police are looking closely at Melanie and Nicole. Kayla is shocked but he explains that she is married to Trent. Bo arrives and tells them they've no evidence for Nicole. Bo gets a document from the lab. It doesn't tell them much but they've got more tests on the way. Kayla is upset that Bo has allowed Victor to visit Caroline. She worries he wants her back. Bo tells Kayla they're past all that, but Kayla thinks Victor has always cared for Ma. She takes a moment to call Kimberly to share the news about Caroline, and afterward, they learn that Caroline's fingerprints are the only ones on the knife! The DA's office tells Bo that Caroline will be arraigned and charges with Trent's murder. Victor has come up from the jail cell after talking with Caroline and overhears Bo. He doesn't look too happy.

Bo goes to Caroline to tell her the news, and she asks what this means. Kayla tells her that the DA feels they've enough evidence to charge her. She'll have to stand trial for murder.

Sexy Eyes...

Tuesday, September 30 2008

At the station, Bo reiterates that Trent was found at 9:15 PM, with a stab wound to the back. Steve wonders what Trent was doing at the cemetery and thinks Caroline could have done it if it were self-defense. Bo points out that she'd have come clean by now. They discuss putting a rush on the fibers they found. Abe arrives, after hearing about Caroline, and wants to help. Mayor Mariano arrives and chastises the Salem PD for not catching the murderer and having a family member jailed as the perp. Bo assures Mariano that they're handling it. Roman interjects that they're going by the book, but Mariano thinks someone more objective should be handling this case. Bo calls Mariano a lowlife and Mariano reminds Bo he's always bending the rules. Roman stops Bo from going at Mariano and assures the Mayor that they're handling things properly. Mariano says Internal Affairs is chomping at the bit to get their hands on this one. He'll have his eye on them. Later, he offers Abe a freelance job to keep an eye on the Brady boys. Abe laughs at him. "You've got to be kidding me." Mariano retorts," I never kid during an election year. I'd be more than willing to give Abe a healthy advance." Abe tells the Mayor that he can't be bought, and leaves.

Inside Roman's office, Roman, Bo and Steve discuss how they're disgusted by the rat, Mariano. Bo writes suspect names on a board. He starts with Caroline, then Max. Steve balks at Max, who wouldn't let Ma take the fall. Bo writes Nick Fallon on the board. One of Trent's buddies shot Nick in Paris. Perhaps he killed in retaliation? Roman's not so sure, but listens as Steve brings up Nicole Walker. He tells Roman that she was married to Trent. Roman's surprised. "This just keeps getting better and better all the time!" Bo thinks Trent could have blackmailed Nicole to get money from her for gambling. They wonder who else could be a suspect. Hope walks in. "What about Melanie Layton?" The men agree that Melanie was treated like garbage at Trent's hands and this wouldn't be a surprise if she killed him. Stephanie arrives and the officers put the board away and let her in. Stephanie's worried about Caroline. Steve tells her not to worry as Caroline's not the only suspect. He promises Caroline will come out okay. Bo asks Stephanie off the record if Melanie's capable of killing her father. Melanie opens the door. "Why don't you just ask me yourself?" Stephanie leaves the room while Melanie asks if she's a suspect and tells them she didn't kill Trent. Bo tells her she can't leave town. She's a suspect!

Stephanie finds Max outside Roman's office. He shares the fight he had with Melanie and she tells him that Melanie's in Roman's office.

You're Pregnant... Nicole!

Monday, September 29 2008

Bo finds Caroline holding the bloody knife that she just pulled out of Trent's back, at the cemetery. Bo, Hope and the other cops find her. In shock, she can't speak, when Bo asks, "What happened, what have you done?" She explains Trent was coming toward her, but Hope asks her to stay quiet. She checks Trent's pulse. He's dead. "Oh God," calls out Caroline. Hope says they have to do this by the book, even though Bo says, "But it's Ma." It breaks Bo's heart when Officer Jenkins has to read Caroline her rights.

At the crime scene, Caroline cries to Bo that she didn't kill Trent, that he was already stabbed when he came to her. Bo tells her it's alright and he'll be with her every step of the way. Hope hugs Bo and tells him they'll get through this, as Caroline is carted off. Hope tells him they need to play by the rules. She knows a lot of people wanted to see Trent dead. She calls Max.
