Say your goodbyes...

Thursday, March 01 2007

Willow comes to Maggie to ask for her job back. She appeals to Maggie's sensitive side and talks about being pregnant with Shawn's child but not having any money. Maggie scoffs at her and refuses to give her job back. Jed overhears the conversation and goes over to Willow as Nick enters the restaurant. Abby explains what's going on as Jed talks to Willow.

Jed asks, "Willy, why are you here?" She lies and tells him she's off to a business meeting, but he accuses her of lying again. He heard her trying to get her job back, he says. She admits she was a waitress and he asks her about the baby. She can't answer and runs off. Abby asks him to let her go, "She's upset and needs to be alone," Abby tells him, but Jed hightails it after his sister. He doesn't know where she lives, so needs to find her now!

Abby turns to Nick and tells her cousin that she has issues with relationships! He gives his cousin advice. "It's time to move on." Abby frowns and thinks he may be right. Maybe she should move on from Max and Jed.

Outside Chez Rouge, Jed calls out for Willow, while inside Maggie calls [Hope] about Willow.

Abby arrives at the garage and thanks Max for calling her to come over. When Max tells her that Bonnie confessed to murdering David Lockhart, Abby wonders what the heck he's doing at work when he should be with Mimi. Max admits, "Mimi is squeezing me dry, Abby and I don't know what else to do about it!" Abby comforts him and tells him that he needs to get his life in order. "You're a good guy Max," she says but Max disagrees. He has his own issues and doesn't feel he can dump his 'stuff' on Mimi when she has so much going on in her life right now. Abby tells him, "That alone makes you a good guy!" Max finally smiles and asks her, "How is it that you always know the right things to say?!" She smiles and offers to do an oil change for him. As she works, Max calls her amazing and comments that he was about 14 when 'pops' first let him change the oil in a car. He tells Abby stories about how he didn't know the difference between oil and transmission fluid at age 13. There is a little playful banter and after they finish the car, Jed walks into the garage. Abby turns to him and says, "You!" and turns around to face Max, who greets Jed and tells Abby that she just worked on Jed's car! She is embarrassed and apologizes to Jed for thinking that he was hitting on her. Jed is surprised to see Abby and admits he owes her an apology back. He admits that he was hitting on her! Abby smiles, "We're even," she says. Max takes a call from Mimi in the office while Abby and Jed chat. The two discuss how busy they have been and he tells her that he has an entire week of schoolwork to make up for since his sister finally came up with his tuition - a week late. Abby points out that his sister must be a good one. He agrees and then asks her out on a date. She tells him she's kind of seeing someone and he looks at Max through the window of the office as if he knows it could be Max. He tells her he's only looking for coffee and some " Bolshevik" talk! Abby observes that he has been studying. Abby is crushed when Max tells her that he's going off to see Mimi, but she agrees to lock up and get Jed's bill for him. Once Max is gone, Abby agrees to coffee, leaving Jed confused. "Aren't you still 'hot and heavy with someone?" he asks. She shrugs and tells him, "It's just coffee!" To herself she mutters, "You lost, Max!" The two drive off.

Bon Bon confesses!

Thursday, February 22 2007

Abby is working on her laptop at Java café when she meets a new guy from one of her classes. Jed introduces himself and sits down to discuss journalist John Reed. Jed explains that he needs help with this journalist and Abby advises, "Rent 'Reds' and it'll give you all of the facts you need." Chelsea barges in on the two and complains about the calculus class she's taking. Jed offers that maybe she should quit before she gets in over her head. And Chelsea gives him a steely gaze. She's insulted and asks him who the hell he is, and who asked him! She then tells him to scram, claiming that she and Abby have to talk. Jed leaves and Chelsea rants about her class some more, until she notices that Jed is staring at Abby from another table. She teases her friend about it and Abby ignores her taunts saying she's not interested. Abby suggests that Chelsea ask Nick to tutor her in Calculus but Chelsea's refuses. They go on about how Chelsea is going to get Dr. Rebert to make Nick jealous. Chelsea leaves and invites Jed to come back and continue his conversation with Abby. He wanders over and asks Abby for a ride to the mall, claiming that his car broke down and he needs to get to work. She lets him know that she's involved with someone else but he tells her he wasn’t trying to hit on her. She notices his friends behind him laughing and knows that Jed's playing her. She tells him that he can go back and tell his locker-room buddies that he struck out. She turns to them and tells them herself before she stomps off.

Disowned!

Chelsea arrives at the garage in good spirits. She gives the good news to Abby that she got the job. Abby is happy for her friend but a little surprised considering Chelsea has no experience, and she came on to the doctor. With a grin, Chelsea admits that Dr. Rebert was flirting with her. Abby isn't happy to hear this and reminds Chelsea that he's not the guy she spoke with on the internet. She asks if Nick knows about this, and Chelsea tells her that he was there. She admits that Nick came clean with his feelings for her. Abby assumes that her friend only took the job to make Nick pay. Chelsea admits it's true and then blows off her studies in order to go shopping to look good for Nick and Dr. Rebert.

Ailing Stefano is in Salem!

Monday, February 19 2007

Abby finishes up working on a car at Max's garage when Nick comes in. He tells Abby that he has a leak in his brain and asks if she can fix it. They go on to talk about Chelsea and then he asks her why she's helping Max. She explains that Max is backed up and needed the help. This prompts Nick to give her friendly advice: Don't bother liking someone who doesn't like you back! He doesn’t think it's a good idea for her to spend so much time with Max considering her feelings for him. Abby happily tells her cousin that she and Max were honest with each other and that Max has feelings for her. Nick wishes he could have been honest with Chelsea and asks Abby what he could do to make things up to Chelsea. Abby thinks Nick should lay low and let Chelsea think, but Nick wants to do something romantic like serenade her outside her apartment! Abby doesn't think it's a good idea. She calls herself "Switzerland" and says she's neutral as far as he and Chelsea go. Nick hopes everything will work out between her and Max and decides he'll have to figure out something on his own. Suddenly Abby has an idea. "I think I know a way for you to get Chelsea back!" she says excitedly. She thinks that he could convince Dr. Rebert to hire Chelsea. Nick is positive it won't work but Abby presses on. She gets a call from Chelsea, who asks if she can come over.

Abby shows up at Chelsea's place to talk, but Chelsea is miserable and not in the mood to talk about Bo or Nick. She tells Abby how embarrassed she was when she met Dr. Rebert. She describes the scene and how she jumped him and kissed him. Abby winces and says, "If it's any consolation, Nick feels really bad about what happened." She goes on to tell her friend that she had been trying to get Nick to tell Chelsea the truth for weeks. Chelsea looks at her with pain in her eyes and asks, "You knew? Abby, you knew the whole time?" Chelsea is angry and paces the room. Abby admits that she did. Chelsea asks Abby if it was fun to let her make a fool out of herself, but Abby stutters and says that while she has no excuses, she hoped Nick would do the right thing. She promises that she was the only one who knew. She felt stuck in the middle and while admits she should have gone to Chelsea; she wanted to stay out of it. Chelsea thinks it's payback time all around for her. The two are interrupted when Dr. Rebert calls to ask Chelsea for an interview at the hospital. Chelsea agrees to the interview and she hangs up she tells Abby that she'd like nothing more than to work with Nick each day and make his life hell! She admits that Dr. Rebert is pretty hot and thinks she could make Nick jealous at the same time! Abby isn't so sure that's a good idea, but Chelsea is adamant that Nick deserves it. She runs off to her interview. Abby stays behind to lock up but first calls Nick to update him about the situation and interview. She thinks that Nick arranged it but Nick denies knowledge of it. He's upset and tells Billie that he's screwed. He hangs up and tells Billie, "Apparently Dr. Rebert liked playing tonsil hockey with Chelsea and called her for an interview!" Billie stands there slack mouthed while Nick pays his check and runs off.

A Time For Confessions

Friday, February 16 2007

Max talks to Mimi on his cell phone outside the garage. He apologizes to her and lets her know that he can't see her this evening as he has three oil changes to do. He hangs up and notices that the door to the garage is unlocked. He enters the garage, tentatively and relaxes when he sees Abby underneath a car doing an oil change! He asks her why she's there, since she has already quit. She admits that she felt bad about leaving him in the lurch and with Shawn gone, she knew he needed her! Max is incredulous and asks her if she knows what she's doing. She talks a good game and it appears she knows exactly what she's doing! She admits she used to watch him and was inspired by him to learn more about cars. Max holds Abby's hand and tells her how much he appreciates what she did for him. There is some romantic tension in the air when he asks her to go out for a bite, to thank her for saving his butt. She agrees and goes to get cleaned up.

The two dine at Chez Rouge and discuss Mimi's dad and the ring. Max tells Abby that he's sure that Mimi's mom and brothers are somehow involved in the death and that Mimi is a basket case right now. He goes on to tell Abby that while he's there for Mimi, he isn't sure it's enough. He thinks that she deserves a break. Abby stops him and says if he thinks that Mimi is a good person, she believes him. She understands how responsible he must feel for Mimi because being friends with Chelsea is much the same! She feels that if she doesn't pay attention, her life will move on without her! Max says that Mimi has nobody and if she didn't have him, she'd be all alone. He says he is just trying to be there for her and support her but is overwhelmed by it all. He smiles as Abby nods in understanding and then tells her that it feels great being able to vent. Abby apologizes to him for the awful things she said about Mimi in the past and confesses she was jealous of the two of them. Max is puzzled until she comes right out with it. "I had a huge crush on you and when you started falling for Mimi I was jealous." She says. She apologizes and Max is surprised. He confesses that he had no idea. Abby tells him she has grown up a lot since then. He tells her that something is missing in his life, but isn't sure of what it is. Abby tells him she knows what it is."You need to get back on the race circuit and start racing again!" she pronounces. He tells her that that chapter of his life is over. He thinks he could have died that day that Stephanie crashed and is afraid he'll hurt someone else, but Abby tells him to at least get back in the pit. Max is happy with the encouragement and holds her hand and says, "Anyone ever told you how smart you are?!" Abby reflects, "Not lately!" He thanks her for listening to him and they both confess they missed each other! He then tells her that although this may not be the right timing, he says that she wasn't the only one who had a crush! Abby is happily surprised when he admits he was attracted to her. The timing was off, he admits. He says he was with Chelsea at the time and there's six years difference between he and Abby. He sees Abby as innocent and could see Jack flying across the ocean to kick his butt if he was with her! He says now that she's a co-ed, she must have tons of guys after her. She smiles. "Tons," she says. She's happy to be at school fulltime. He is proud of her, he says. She tells him he hasn't gotten rid of her that quickly. She'll be around to check up on him!

Happy Valentine's Day?

Wednesday, February 14 2007

Abby and Nick bang on Chelsea's door until they realize she's not there. Nick gets down on himself. He's angry for telling all of the lies he has told her and knows he has to come clean. He tells Abby that he and Chelsea really clicked in Toronto and Abby tells him that Chelsea felt the same! Nick is worried that if he tells Chelsea the truth, it'll break her heart, but Abby thinks Nick ought to take his medicine and be the hero that Chelsea thinks he is. Nick receives a call from Billie, who warns him that Chelsea is tracking him down. She tells him what happened and asks that he run to his place, as Chelsea is on her way. He dashes off.
