Weaving baskets

Abby and Max finish up at the garage when Max asks Abby out for dinner. He suggests Chez Rouge, but she suggests the Penthouse Grill instead! She happily calls to reserve a table while she circles the ad in the phone book.

Jed and Willow dine at Penthouse Grill. She gives him a check and he demands to know where she got it from and what she has to do for the money. Willow lies that she got a real job, but Jed isn't convinced.

Abby and Max arrive at Penthouse Grill for dinner and Jed drops by their table to apologize for showing up at his garage drunk. Max accepts his apology and invites both Willow and Jed over to their table for dinner but once he notices the look on Abby's face, Jed proposes that they visit another time. Abby is thrilled but Max is a little confused. Abby explains that she thought this was a date. She frets that she assumed wrong, and before he can answer, she receives a call from Nick who explains that Chelsea knows and it's not pretty! Abby feels bad but gets back to her date. Max lets her know that this is a date and that she's a very beautiful woman. Suddenly Abby hears Maggie's voice. She's at the restaurant!


Back at Jed and Willow's table, Willow gives him the large check from EJ to hold on to. She claims that she might lose it. Abby comes over to Jed's table to ask him to dine with them, so that Maggie won't see her alone with Max. Willow leaves to run an errand, and by the time Maggie shows up at their table, she sees Jed and Max there. She doesn't appear impressed but asks Jed to take care of Abby, and leaves!

Chelsea arrives at Penthouse Grill in tears and Abby runs off to console her friend. Chelsea wants to leave town but Abby tries to convince her to stay. Chelsea brushes her hair and she refuses to stay. She claims that there is nothing there for her but Abby encourages her to speak to Bo first. During their conversation, Willow is in a stall, listening in! She comes out of the stall after the girls leave, and with leather gloves on, she takes the brush that Chelsea was using. She smirks to herself.

Chelsea leaves the restaurant and leaves a message for Bo that she's on her way over to talk.

Abby arrives back at her table, without an appetite.

The truth finally comes out!

Billie is still at Max's garage, trying to get in touch with Chelsea, via cell phone. She's frustrated because Chelsea isn't picking up. Abby comes in and they discuss the affair and Abby admits that Nick didn't actually tell her about the affair. She figured it out on her own! Billie is surprised and worries that Nick may have told others, but Abby promises that Nick wouldn't do that. Billie runs off to see her daughter.

Later, Max enters his garage and finds Abby fixing break lights on a car. He calls her his best employee and she lets him know that she only works there to take her mind off of homework and girl stuff! She inquires about Mimi and he relays that he spoke with Connor, and found out that Mimi isn't doing well. She has been lying around all day, depressed. Abby tries to comfort Max and tells him that it's best that Mimi goes through the pain now rather than when she's married. Max can't help but be angry with himself for leaving Mimi when the going got tough. He calls himself a horrible person because he really wanted Mimi to leave! Abby disagrees and calls him an honest person. She reminds him that he was there when Mimi found out about the accident and that must have meant a lot to her. He quietly tells Abby that Mimi let him off the hook. She didn't ask him to call or write. Abby thinks that they did each other a favor and knows there was nothing for Mimi in Salem. He thanks her for listening and for her advice and then compliments her on how she is with a wrench! They start working on the engine of the same car together.

Desperate measures

Nick enters Max's garage and yells to Abby that he has the most terrific news! He can hardly get the words out as he yells that Chelsea kissed him! Abby is surprised and then is skeptical that it was a real kiss. Nick convinces her that it was knee bucking and life changing. He relays what happened excitedly but Abby can't help but wonder if Chelsea is playing him for the whole Dr. Patton thing. She says that Chelsea needs a guy she can trust, and Nick knows it. He says he plans to tell Chelsea he slept with Billie! Abby thinks that this would not be the right thing to do and is alarmed that he would think of ruining Chelsea and Billie's relationship like this.

Abby storms off and ends up at Chez Rouge with Maggie. She rants and raves to her Aunt Maggie that someone she knows is going to ruin two lives, and Maggie worries that she's talking about Max. She goes on to let Abby know that she disapproves of her seeing Max. Abby explains that it's Nick with whom she's angry with, and while Maggie doesn't get the full scoop, she advises her niece to find someone to get through to Nick. Abby thanks her Aunt and runs off to see Billie.

EJ leads Willow into a discussion about Shawn. He looks for information but all she can tell him is that Shawn jumped off a cruise ship and is presumed dead. EJ tells her that the job is short but it pays well, as he gives her a huge check. "It's two year's salary," she muses and he bluntly notifies her that he wants her to break into someone's house for him. Her jaw drops! She refuses and he snatches back the check and asks, "Not for this amount of money?" He tells her that for less than one hour she can have a down payment on a house. He goes back inside and calls the YWCA to leave word that Willow is pregnant, so they'll kick her out. He hangs up and sits back down with Billie, to complete their business.

Abby arrives at Chez Rouge to talk to Billie but bumps into Willow on the way. Willow begs Abby to help her get her job back at Chez Rouge, but Abby is unmoved by her pleas and tells Willow that she'll never forgive her for all of the nasty things she did to Shawn, Belle and Claire. When Willow admits that she's pregnant with Shawn's baby, Abby is surprised. She doesn't understand why Willow did such terrible things to Shawn if she loved him. Willow explains that the way she was brought up made her this way. Abby understands what she's saying but doesn't think that it's an excuse for her behavior. She goes on to tell Willow not to bother her Aunt Maggie and then goes inside to see Billie.

Blood Poisoning

Abby sits in Max's office and apologizes on the phone to Mr. Atkins, who is a customer of Max's. Apparently his car was supposed to be ready hours ago. Max wanders in looking wiped out and shares the terrible news about Mimi being the one to kill her dad. Abby is shocked but Max explains that it was in self defense. He shares the story and Abby is flabbergasted. Max goes on to say that he just came back from dropping Mimi off in Arizona and knows he may never see her again. He stops talking and then apologizes for laying all of this on Abby, but she's very understanding and promises to be there for him, as his friend. She asks if she can help and he jokingly asks her to teach him how to cook! They almost kiss but Abby moves away and they discuss how close Max and Mimi were. Max admits that he was starting to care for Mimi. As they talk, they're interrupted by Jed, who appears to be drunk and looking for a friendly ear. Abby tells Jed she barely knows him, but he has no friends to turn to he explains and goes on about how upset he is that his sister was a prostitute. He tells Abby and Max that their 'old man' did this to her. "I should have been taking care of her, not the other way around," he says, sadly. He feels guilty for taking the cash from Willow without asking where it came from. He reeks of booze and is unsteady and misreads Abby when she tries to comfort him. He moves in for a kiss, but she shoves him away in disgust! Max gives Jed some coffee and lets him hang out in the office until he's sober. Jed tells Abby that Max seems like a nice guy and says, "It's him, isn't it? He's the guy you have something for." Abby asks if it's that obvious and he replies in the positive. Abby lets her new friend know that Max's girlfriend left town. He thinks that they have something going on and wonders where this leaves him, but Abby simply asks that they remain friends. She offers to take him home. As she goes to get the car, Jed tells Max how lucky he is to have a girl like Abby fall in love with him!.

Say your goodbyes...

Jed and Abby arrive at Chez Rouge and Maggie thinks Jed is cute so she gives the two lunch on the house! Jed flirts with Abby and tells her she's beautiful. She is embarrassed and looks down while she admits that she doesn't her those words that often. Jed thinks that the people in Salem must be crazy not to notice her. Jed brings up the guy she's "kind of seeing" and she admits that she lied but she does like someone. She says that the guy likes her, but he's involved right now. She calls the other woman (Mimi) needy and says it's a complicated mess! Jed tells her that he thinks Max wants his cake and wants to eat it too! Abby is offended and tells Jed he knows nothing about it. Jed is quick to apologize but tells her "If you want to go after some guy who is involved with someone else, who am I to say anything?" She explains that she and Max have a connection and Jed understands. He urges her to 'go for it' with Max. Willow comes into the restaurant and Abby tells Jed who Willow is and that she was a hooker. . Jed is clearly upset and says "Let me re-introduce myself. I'm Jed Stark! Willow is my sister!"
