Failing Pancreas

Back at his office, Tony arrives to find his secretary packing. She tells him she's quitting, much to Tony's surprise. She asks when he was going to give her the birth control talk but a puzzled Tony says she should have learned that in sixth grade! The girl is disgusted and stomps off.

Tony shows up at Anna's office and Anna panics. She says perhaps she went too far! Tony stares at her while he walks to her desk, quietly. He takes her in his arms and surprises her with a hard kiss.

And you don't love me?

Anna relaxes at her hotel with a beautifying mask covering her face when she is interrupted by Tony, who asks her to come with him. "It's a matter of life and death," he tells her, cryptically. Anna reluctantly invites him in and tells him not to make himself comfortable. "You're not staying long." Tony tells her they've transferred Stefano to a long term treatment facility and Marlena wants him to go by the mansion. He's worried Stefano may have recovered and is there, angry and waiting for him! He wants Anna by his side when he goes. Anna laughs and clarifies that he wants her to go with him into a potentially explosive situation. Tony wants her support, but then admits he wanted to make up an excuse to see her. He's been going crazy without her and thinks about her all the time, he says. He puts on the charm and asks if she could put their differences aside for one night.

EJ, Sami, Anna and Tony arrive at the DiMera mansion. They hear opera music playing and see someone sitting in Stefano's chair, with a brandy. They panic and think it's him but Marlena shuts the music off and apologizes. John gets up and they all sigh in relief. John is happy the music is off. He detests it. They ask why they're summoned there and Marlena tells them Colleen's story about how she didn't throw herself off the cliff all those years ago but instead found out she was pregnant and went off and had a baby boy. Santo's baby. Anna asks what happened to the child and John says, "You're looking at him." EJ's jaw drops as he asks, "You're a Brady?" Tony looks at EJ and at John and says, "You're a DiMera." Sami and Anna are shocked and Tony says they're not half brothers as he's not Daphne DiMera's son. Tony tells him he's a DiMera in name only and was lucky enough to escape the genetic curse! EJ asks if Stefano knows about this but Marlena doesn’t think so. Sami is shocked and when Lexi arrives, Anna fills her in. Lexi is shocked as well and is surprised John is her uncle. John doesn't answer but wants to know Stefano's lawyer's name so he can control Stefano's estate. EJ doesn't take kindly to that but John says he deserves compensation for what Stefano did to destroy his life. He asks to celebrate with Lexi and EJ. "Have a drink with your uncle," says John. Marlena takes Tony and EJ out to the foyer and explains how John is not the same man.

Inside the morning room, Sami tells John that Marlena loves him and he's not into frivolous things - neither is Marlena. Anna comments that she never understood that about Marlena. Sami wants to know if he wants to be the great man he once was. John turns to Anna and asks if she likes him. Anna comments she feels they've more in common now and Sami stomps on her foot! In pain, Anna has a seat and removes her shoe. John goes to Anna and rubs her foot and Anna fawns over him "You do have strong hands," she says. Sami rolls her eyes. "You've got to be kidding me, right?" Anna giggles as John rubs her foot until Tony enters the room and jealously demands to know what's going on! Later, Marlena is set to leave and asks John if he's coming. He tells her he is going to live there now and asks her to stay but she refuses out of discomfort. She kisses his head and tells him she's not giving up on him. "Good to know," John says before she leaves.

Back at Anna's place, Tony is jealous because John was flirting with Anna. He groans and kisses her and tells her that of course John would flirt with her. They kiss for a moment until Anna pushes him away. He wants to spend the night but she has an early day. She took a job as an executive at an advertising agency. She tells him they're officially rivals! Surprised, Tony says he'd have given her a job but Anna smirks and says he sees her as an empty headed bimbo. Tony disagrees but Anna tells him that she won't follow him around like some lovesick puppy. Tony doesn't think she'll do better than he, considering he has the background for advertising but Anna wonders if he's rusty, since it's been a few years. Tony thinks she's setting herself up for a failure so Anna tells him it's time for him to leave. Tony is frustrated but apologizes and tells her he still loves her. Anna wants his love and respect, and knows she doesn't have it. Tony apologizes and says he must be doing something wrong. He leaves quietly and they both have a hard time leaving their own side of the door afterwards.

They wear orange jumpsuits!

At the safe house, EJ is juggling Allie and Johnny, who keeps throwing up on him. Both babies start bawling, leaving EJ desperate for help.

Tony arrives at the safe house to visit EJ. He gets himself a drink and offers EJ one, but EJ incredulously declines and reminds Tony he's on baby duty. EJ has a hard time calming Allie and when EJ asks Tony if he wants kids, Tony looks at EJ with a mixture of amusement and disdain. Anna arrives bearing gifts for the babies, much to Tony's chagrin. She asks why Tony's there and Tony tells her he hardly needs an excuse to visit his brother. They start bickering until EJ asks Anna for help. Anna takes one of the babies and she remembers how Carrie threw up on Tony when she was young. Tony says he was trying to forget this is a memory and rolls his eyes when the babies start their bawling again! Later, after Anna and EJ get the babies to sleep, EJ asks if Tony wants to hold Allie but Tony has no interest. Anna giggles and asks where Sami is. EJ lets her know Sami's at the jail saying goodbye to Lucas. EJ admits it's awkward but Tony says Lucas is out of the picture. Sami will forget about him soon. Anna comments, "They way you forgot about me?!" Tony chuckles. Anna becomes indignant and Tony calls her over dramatic. "You haven't seen anything yet," she spits before she says goodbye to EJ and stomps off, leaving the men taken aback.

Yes, I'm Colleen Brady!

Tony arrives at the pub and snickers when he finds Anna preparing for a job interview. Anna tells him since she dumped him; she decided to get a life of her own. Tony unwittingly accuses her of being a bit of a ditz who only prefers shopping and Anna is hurt. He leaves shortly thereafter when Lexi calls him to explain Stefano is in the hospital with what appears to be a stroke and she wants him there. After he leaves, Anna sets up an interview with the advertising agency.

EJ and Tony rush into the hospital and Lexi explains Stefano's in a vegetative state of some sort. Prognosis is negative. EJ is concerned and a distraught Lexi tells them she needs their help in deciding what to do with him. She could run more tests but admits she wonders if it's fate. "At least this way, he can't hurt anyone," she says. Tony thinks it's ironic how Stefano's fate lies in the three people's lives who he manipulated their whole lives. Inside his head, Stefano says he loved them all and wants them to show him how they feel about him. Tony tells Stefano he doesn't feel anything for him and Stefano yells to EJ that he's his son, his blood. "I know you wouldn't turn your back on me," he pleads, unheard. EJ considers the hell Stefano put him through and Stefano replies that nothing is more important than their family. EJ says, "Because you forced me to force myself on the woman I love, she'll never love me." In anger, he walks away and Lexi tells Stefano he nearly caused her her marriage and friends when he switched babies on her, years ago. She is happy she didn't grow up with him and feels lucky to have escaped what her brothers did not. She's lucky her son doesn't know he's a monster. Stefano yells in his head for her not to talk like that. Tony and Lexi agree the world would be better off without Stefano in it and EJ takes some convincing but agrees. Tony kisses Stefano's cheek. "May you rot in hell," he says. "You SOB," replies Stefano, though nobody can hear! They agree to leave Stefano in a vegetative state. After they leave the room, Stefano cries out, "Nooooooo! Noooo!"

Darling, if it's not broken, you don’t fix it!

Anna and Tony flirt at the pub. Anna wants to get room service at their hotel but Tony wants to be at the pub. They reminisce about the wonderful island hopping in the Mediterranean they've been doing and both say they never wanted to leave. Tony admits all good things must come to an end. Caroline arrives at their table, happy to see them. Tony asks what's been going on since they left and her face falls. She tells them about the kidnapping and they wonder if Stefano's involved. They try not to let it upset them too much. Tony has a proposal for Anna, who is giddy at the thought. He wants to put down roots in Salem and says he bought a legit advertising company in Salem! Anna's smile drops. This isn't the proposal she was expecting! Tony is confused but she refuses to explain and upset, she leaves the table. Tony follows her and she tells him she wishes he'd have considered her, before he made plans. Upset, she stalks off outside.

Tony follows Anna outside, where she pouts. He tells her he had a wonderful time on the cruise with her and treasures their time together. He loves the way things are now and says, "Darling, if it's not broken, you know, you don’t' fix it!" Anna returns inside the pub and Tony is stopped by one of his future employees from the company he just purchased. The guy rambles on manically and Tony tells him to take it down a notch. Tony asks him to prepare a portfolio of all current accounts and have it on his desk by tomorrow. The guy has already made himself indispensable - this is done and then some!

Inside the pub, Anna has drink while she tells Caroline she was expecting a proposal from Tony. Caroline says she's never known Anna to be defined by a man. Anna says she's not and accepts advice from Caroline who says she should try to get a job from Tony's rivals, another advertising agency. She gives her a card from two men who were in earlier. Anna likes the idea and when Tony comes back to the pub, she breaks up with him. Tony is aghast and she tells him she's not a woman to be trifled with. Tony is confused as she stomps off!
