Just spent all morning in jury selection! I didn't get picked, thank goodness! I know it is my civic duty but I can only serve on a civil trail jury (my job prohibits me from serving on a criminal trail jury)and those ones are SO boring!! |

My thought when you said that was that I apparently like numerous Days characters that the majority of other posters don't.  Lately, it hasn't been much fun to come to the boards.First, SAFE was/is bashed repeatedly, secondly,the Passions actors coming to Days, (which delighted me)were/are bashed (yes I said bashed--go back and read what was said) for coming to Days, and lastly, the Danlo s/l and Dr Dan who are even more severely bashed. So, apparently I choose the "underdogs" to root for.  So this board is slowly but surely becoming off limits for me. That is a lot of character bashing to take, when they are all your favorites.  Yes, it is just a soap, but it is much more fun to root for your fav character's and not know how other fans can't stand them. "To each his own" I obviously have my favorites and truly try not to bash characters. I like to "debate" characters actions. It's hard sometimes when someone I like is getting bashed, it makes me want to defend them but I normally try to stay out of the threads that get too heated. I avoid confrontations in my life and on message boards! I would say the majority of the posters on here can reasonably debate their positions. There can be a post that I don't agree with but that doesn't make me defensive either, those I like. I like to read the threads and just don't let the "out of hands" one bother me. I never watched Passions so all the characters comming from there to DAYS doesn't bother me, they are new to me. I guess what does bother me is they brought so many new acters to the show when there are so many they let go. I am really happy about Vivian, Carly, Lawrence returning. I have high hopes for them! This is the only message board I post on. I read NHL message boards because I LOVE the Pittsburgh Penquins and believe me, this message board is MILD compared to those sports message boards where you have mostly drunk obnoxious men posting, LOL! You talk about character (or team/player) bashing, those posters are brutal and it is personnel, not fictional chararcters! They start attacking each others Cities! I quess maybe having read so many of those this message board seems very calm and respectful for the most part. Try to enjoy it and just ignore the bad. It seems to wax and wane to me, for a while there will be all negative threads then there will be really good ones. Just try to enjoy the good and ignore the negative and hang in there with us

I can see the new guideline may have upset some but I should let you all know that my staff has had some issues with the Young and Restless boards and that's really why the guideline had to be included. So many posters were fighting like nuts because they hated when people called Amber Amberwhore or something... I wouldn't care, but that's just me. We have to deal with what the majority wants! So anyway, I don't think that you guys have that issue here. You can still bash characters. That hasn't changed. We don't want the baiting or bullying that has been seen and frankly, this board's doing great so I wouldn't worry too much about it!! I miss being here sometimes too, guys. I'm sorry that I can't be. I've had a few promotions since I opened the site and my time is really booked solid but you're all welcomed to come visit me on Facebook. (Same photo so easy to find me!! Oh and I'm on Twitter @soapoperafan.) I sometimes read threads and have been enjoying your interpretations of what's going on with DOOL!! xo |
