Quote bmes: OH SHOOT!!!! I DID have something written there. damn that's the second time i've completely deleted a post!!! ooooops. that's what happens when i post too early in the morning.

what i wrote was that there was a 12 year old autistic boy that went missing on saturday in town here. they found him monday dead just 3 doors down from where he lived, inside some lady's house. apparently her mental state isn't so great, so we're staying indoors right now until she's found.

it's such an uneasy feeling right now. this sort of thing doesn't happen here. it's a very small town, and any kind of crime is VERY rare here. the whole community is soooooo shook up right now. such a sad and tragic day. my heart goes out to the poor family. :-(

Oh, that is so sad. My heart and prayers goes out for them also. I pray for God's protection for your family and all the others around that area. What is your first name? Seems like we correspond a lot... Mine is Myra.

well they found the crazy lady lastnight. she went without a fight. everyone is breathing alot easier now. i'm so relieved, and hope they throw her away until the day she dies. but then, apparently her mental state is not good so she'll probably go to a funny farm instead. so, as long as they keep her there then....

my name is Brooke.

I'd like to call you Brooke if you don't care. My 3rd great grandchild is named Kodie Brooke so I can remember that easily.

So glad that woman is in custody!!!!

You are fun to talk with. I'd much rather have fun and laugh on this board than carry on insults ( I call them that) about the fake characters like they are our family. haha I have several friends on here that are so much fun to talk with also. "What the world needs now....is love....sweet love".
I like to love my neighbor as I love myself. It is really hard sometimes...

My family and I have so much fun and laughter. We are loaded with comedians. That is why I am a happy person 98% of the time.

Keep making me laugh, because it is the best present ever!!! You are a sweety!

I don't mind at all!! thank you for the all the kind words!! i do like to make people laugh. i seem to be good at it, except it's usually at my expense. I do some pretty idiotic things that people find HILARIOUS!! i eventually feel the same, but not usually right away!! ha ha ah.

yes alot of people seem to get really wrapped up in the show. oh well. i sometimes get pretty worked up over something about the show, but i usually get over it pretty quickly too.

98% of the time? YIKES!!! well i'm not sure I can say the same about me. I am a happy person for the most part...but oh yes oh yes, i have a temper on a very short fuse!!! ha ha.

so any plans for the weekend? my hubby is busy with work. he's back now, but when he got back things got pretty busy around here. so he's not getting the weekend off which leaves me and the kids to try find our own entertainment. beach maybe? idk yet!!

have a great day and keep smiling!!

Of all the veggies tomatos are my favorite, though they say the tomato is a fruit! I wish veggies where my favorite food, then maybe I wouldn't have these 25 extra pounds to loose!!

My favorite summer veggies are fried (I use canola oil) okra and fresh tomato's & cornbread. I have a small veg garden each year. This year my 6 tomato plants did not do well. Neither did my okra. My cayanne peppers grew just fine. I grew them to make hot sauce for my turnip greens. Love them too. Fresh corn, yum yum. New potato's. Gosh, I am slobbering, I've got to quit. I freeze any extra okra. I never canned much at all, but helped my mother when I was a teenager.

I'd love to have a garden, but we just moved here, and there's no use having a garden until we get a deer fence up around our yard, which is really expensive. we have about 20 deer that just basically live in our yard all year round. it's a huge problem here that nobody seems to want to do anything about. drives me nutty. and some people down the road FEED THEM FFS!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! no wonder they never leave. and it's really pissing off too cause last year there was a cougar that came down and killed one of the deer....COUGARS EATS KIDS!!!! and 3 weeks ago there was a bear here. called the conservation officer and he said they couldn't do anything unless it was basically attacking me or my family. i didn't want them to shoot and kill the damn bear, just shoot and traquilize it and put it out in the bush!!! BEARS, DEER AND COUGARS DON'T BELONG IN TOWN!!! HELLLLLLOOOOOO....i'm tempted to go make myself some deer pepperoni or jerky. yum yum. lol...

ooops...sorry i got carried away there. ha ha...

anyways...my hubby's family all believe to live off the land so they all grow HUGE gardens...i've never seen anything like it. they are mostly vegetarians, but they do buy the odd turkey so they do eat a bit of meat. they have massive gardens and they can everything. and they make the best russian borscht EVER!!! YUM!!! they keep asking me "do you have a garden???" like i'm almost SHUNNED from the family cause we don't have one yet. NEXT YEAR i will have one. i PROMISE!!!! lol...my favorites are cukes...fresh cukes are the best....and tomatoes and sweet onions (the ones that have no heat to them)...chop em up put a little salt on them, and oh my oh my...so tasty. LOVE IT!!

i have 4 apple trees (1 red delicious, 1 golden delicious, 2 macs) and 2 plum trees though and they are almost reay to pick. can't wait!!!

Holy cow bmes, where do you live, in the middle of an animal zoo? LOL! We have white tail deer here too but they seem to stay in the corn fields that surround our property so they stay out of my garden. However, they are becomming a problem in the suburbs of the city (I live near Pittsburgh, PA) The game commission brought cyotes in to take care of the over population of deer and now the cyotes are out of control! Though I would rather have them then cougars! We do have the occassional black bear and rabbits drive gardners nuts but that's about it.

Cucumber/tomato salad w/onions is great! This year I made it w/all three veggies from my garden and I did grow sweet onions this year. I love a fresh tomato sandwhich, just a slice of tomato on toast w/miricle whip and a little salt and serve it with corn on cob from the garden is a perfect summer meal!!

lmao!!!! no not a zoo...ha ha... but the city has their priorities totally a$$ backwards here. about a month ago, the police shot 2 dogs...why you ask? cause they were chasing the effin' deer!!! WTH RIGHT??!?!?!? ugh...yeah it's rediculous here. don't get me wrong, i think they are very nice to look at and I even take several pictures of them...and the babies are so damn cute!!!! they really are, but they don't belong in the city. we live right in the middle of town!!! we're not in the sticks here!!! there are alot of people here to can't STAND the deer..every year it just gets worse and worse. apparently our neighbor (she has a garden with a deer fence around it now), said just 7 years ago, she never needed a fence around her garden. but then we have quite a large "hippie" population here too, that get all in an uproar when people start talking about getting rid of the deer. they say we should all learn to co-exist. what gives us more of a right to be here than they do? blah blah BLAHAAHAHHAHAAA!!!! lol....i'd say the deer didn't have to pay over a quarter million dollars to live here, WE DID!!! so this is MY DOMAIN not theirs!!! :-P ha ha ha

oh you know what else is REALLY good? toast with mayo (or miracle whip..whatever you prefer..i don't like miracle whip, bleh..lol), tomato and avacado, salt and pepper...SO DAMN GOOOOODDDD!!!! oh now i want one. ha ha oh and we just had fresh corn lastnight. it was delish!!! wanna know a secret? put a couple tbsp of brown sugar into the boiling water just before putting the corn in. i don't know why...but it does something to the corn and makes it 100x yummier.

Western PA is BIG hunting territory, the hippie/activist would get run out of here by a redneck w/a shot gun in his hands!! Well, maybe not that bad but still! I can't believe they shot dogs! If anyone ever shot my dog I would want to shot them!! Cost of living is WAY lower here too.

Adding brown sugar to the corn sounds very good, I will definitly try that, maybe tonight, I have more corn ready. I like avacads too so I will try that. Our avacados aren't as good here because they aren't grown here but shipped in but I still like them. I am assuming you live on the West coast. My husband has relatives in CA and OR and we have visited and OMG, the west coast has the BEST fruit!

You all are making me hungry!! My favorite veggie from the garden is corn. Yum Yum!! I don't have a garden. But, my dad and my father in law do. So, they give us veggies out of their gardens. I always love visiting this time of year because I know when I leave, I've got some goodies coming.

coledog, I live in BC, Canada. we're not right on the coast, but more inland.... there is ALOT of hunters around these parts too, but we're also quite close to a town called Nelson, which is a MAJOR hippie town, so they spread from there. lol...
the fruit around this area and especially in the okanagan where I just moved from is AMAZING. my grandparent's cherry trees were LOADED this year, and their apricots get to the size of apples. they are HUGE and juicy, and make the best marmalade!!

ladybamafan, yes i know i love this time of year too. we always get big jars of borscht, bags upon bags of perogies, pickles, beets, huckleberry tarts, wild mushrooms, you name it, from my hubby's dad!!!

I can't wait to grow my own garden next year!!!

bmes, so sorry, for some reason I thought you lived in California, must be thinking of someone else. That is very cool you live in British Columbia. How close are you to Vancouver? Everyone I know who has been there says how beautiful Vancouver is and what a great city it is. I have only ever been to Toronto in Canada but I would love to visit Vancouver someday! Now all the wildlife makes more sense! All the fruits and veggies you mentioned sound delicious! What is borscht?

Ladybam, I am the one that is always handing out garden goodies to family. I swear I think they run and hide when I come with my zucchini because I always get too many and I swear those things could survive a nucular war!!
