SunnyAlso back when we were young (a million years ago) we would play with things that cost no money. Like the time my parents bought a new refrigerator and it came in a huge box my father somehow got it out of the box and took out all the staples and taped it up.....first my brother and i would play house in it and draw with crayons like the windows, flower boxes etc....when it got all banged up we would take it on the top of the hill and roll down....laughing hysterically the whole way down. Sunny

My friend and I would do the same thing!!!! We would excitedly stand and wait for the box (hopefully a refrigerator box)and take it to a high pasture hill out back, and ONE at a time lie longways in the box and roll all the way down the hill, over and over. Ohhhhhhh that was so much fun. I'd love to do it now but my osteoarthritis would torment me I made up nearly all the games we played as kids. I miss those days.

oh these are great ideas guys!!!! My kids are going ballistic right now cause they want to go outside so badly, but it's just way too hot.

I take them outside in the morning when it's still KINDA cool, then they are stuck inside all day until around 7pm when the sun goes behind the trees in our back yard...yesterday we took them to the river to splash around a bit and cool off before bedtime. I made some playdoh this morning, so they've been playing with that...but a 2 year old and a 3 year old, they get antsy pretty quick...lol...i think we've gone through their entire dvd collection.

any more fun indoor game suggestions would be awesome. I feel so bad for them...they see the sun shining outside and want to go out so badly, but they don't realize how hot it is out there. PLUS, it's very smokey and there's quite a bit of ash floating around out there right now with all the forest fires we're getting. not too good to breathe in too much. it's nuts!!! this is probably one of the worst fire seasons in history for us. hubby is a busy busy man this year!!

Can you take them to a pool and put those floaties on their arms. I swear thats hours of fun. Then home, a nap and mommy time.

Its so brutally hot here in Florida. I went for a walk this morning thru a big wooded park so at least the sun wasnt directly on me but there was absolutely no breeze. I cant wait till Oct it lets up then.

Having little ones like you have is hard. You have the hardest job in the world.

Hope you are well buddy ol pal.

Is there any indoor gym or activity center. We have this place call Kidz Junction, where there are differet rooms (like a post office, grocery store, a vet, doctor office, super heros). The kids play dress up or play in the indoor gym. It lots of fun and kids get wiped out.

My friends and I, would alternate houses for playdates. The kids had lunch and then they played while the moms catch up with each other.

If you have a pool or even a sprinkler, kids love it.

I have been there, it is hard. My kids are now 8,6,5.

there is an indoor pool in town here...but my kids DO NOT saty in one spot together..lol...they ALWAYS have to go in opposite directions ALL THE TIME!!! i try and round em up and it's a battle every time!! ha ha...there's a program called strong start here...it's like a pre-pre-school...but they have the same hours as regular school...so it's closed for the summer...there is also a child care and resource center, and every tuesdays you can go there and they have toys and snack time and stuff...BUT during the summer, they all meet at the park, and no one is showing up cause of the heat..lol

we have a little kiddie pool at home here, and they have a big jungle gym with swings and slides and stuff...but again, the heat and smoke outside is just not very good to be in right now...lol...

yeah...it's tough with two kids that are so young still. i keep sunscreen on them outside all the time, and keep em hydrated as best I can, but those little bodies just seem to overheat so quickly. we got one more month of this weather and then it should start cooling off.

it's so funny, cause we had like the LONGEST winter EVER..i honestly thought it was never going to end...and we didn't even get a spring...it just went from winter to summer...lol...so i was b****ing and moaning about the winter, and now I wish it was like -10 outside right now. ha ha...

How about your local library? Do they have special program for pre-schoolers. Our library has a special area just for kids. They can play with a train table, do puzzles and play with puppets, color and read.

Where do you live?

oh i can't wait till the fall...it's so gorgeous and my favorite season...you still get nice sunny days, warmish, but the air has a crispness to it. i love it.

yes strong start is a great program!!!

omg...it must be so humid where you live too eh?!?! pleh. ha ha...

batmom, I live in a pretty small town in the boundary/kootenay area...that's in BC, Canada. we do have a library, but not much happens there...they have a story time but that's about it!! ha ha...it's a really gorgeous town that I live in, and TONS of stuff to do, but all outdoors. there's the river...people go tubing down the river alot...great fishing and camping spots...lots of biking and hiking trails..the trans canada trail goes right through the town...there's also an absoutely GORGEOUS lake not too far from here...tons of stuff to keep you busy...but all outdoors...ha ha...this is an unusual summer though...it DOES get hot here, but it's usually not THIS bad, and there's usually not so many fires.

COME OOOONNNNNN STRONG START!!!! HA HA HA!!!

OMG!!!!! I AM SOOOOO P'OED AT MY HUBBY RIGHT NOW!!!! EEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

every day for the past couple weeks, I've been finding these weird looking beetle type bugs...big ones...ugly ones...in our house...they're not hard to catch and get rid of, but every day I kill about 5 or 6 of them...i figured they were coming from outside because we keep all the windows open at night to cool off the house, but i started to think some more and that just didn't make sense...we have screens on all the windows, and there's no rips in them ANYWHERE!!! plus i don't ever see them outside!! so then i started getting paranoid that our house was being infested with them..like coming out of the walls or something. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! even my hubby was baffled by them...he doesn't even know what they ARE!!! so now i'm thinking...omg some exotic bug that is not native to this area is infesting our house and going to destroy everything...so THEN i'm sitting on the couch last night watching a movie and one of these bugs, drops off the ceiling and onto my effin' HEAD!!!! OMG i just about DIED!!!! so i'm freaking out and telling hubby, "i don't care what you do!!!! you tear this effin' house apart and find out where they are coming from!!!"

well well well...GUESS where they were coming from????????

hubby got a stump out of the woods and brought it home and put it in the basement... (he needed a stump to attach his anvil to..his hobby is goldsmithing). anyways, the effin' larvae must have been inside the effin' stump and hatched when it got to our house!!! you can see all the little holes in the stump.... *sigh* i'm so pi$$ed!!!!!

so NOW i've asked him to take the stupid stump and put it outside... but he won't cause he figures that all the bugs have hatched now, so now all we can do is just kill them as we see them. WTF??????????? are you kidding me with this????

and what if they start mating and multiplying!!!!!

seriously i'm tempted to move into a hotel until all these darn bugs are gone!!!! this is NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW....you are so entertaining to me. I have tons of stories...good....bad....disasterous...funny...sad. I have had an amusing life. Nothing boring about me. I have totally supported myself for 30 years. (after I divorced my 2 daughters's father in 1979.) I have hilairous stories about me meeting men from dating ads. Oh yes....one old man who showed up at a restaurant meeting place and looked like he just crawled out from under a bridge....you should have seen my face! I saw his car outside. It was a piece of junk with bumper stickers all over it and filled with all his belongings. hahahahah There is more to tell, but it is waaaay funnier in person. It was soooo embarassing. People know me here in my town!!!!

LMAO!!! oh man!! that's funny. those online dating things can be very very tricky!! you just never know who's gonna crawl outta where.. ha ha. i don't have many dating stories as i've been with my hubby since I was 15 years old. we got married when i was 20 and i'm now 27!! but I have a GREAT online dating story about my DAD!!! he he. my dad's been married 3 times...the second marriage they had a child together...my half brother...anyways...when my brother was 5 they divorced, and I was 16. so, my dad decided to sign onto one of these online dating sites...figured he should try something different...so, he would chat back and forth to some of the women on there, and he was TERRIBLE at typing. you know just the two fingers pounding on the keys...search and destroy method..so my b/f and I (now my hubby), decided to play a little trick on him. i had two separate email accounts and my dad didn't know about one of them, so I used that one and pretended I was a woman responding to his personal ad. I described myself as 5'11, 130 pounds, blond hair, blue eyes, former bikini model, now a nurse..and at the end I said "maybe we could meet sometime and I could "flick your stick"...lmao!! ok so you have to know a little background on that comment. my dad and grandpa would go hunting and they invented a game called flick a stick...using a long stick and a v shaped stick (you find in the forest) that you flick and have to hit certain targets..you make courses througout the forest..kinda like golf...so on his personal ad he said he was the flick a stick champion of the world!! LOL...so that's how the comment came about...

anyways...dad gets home checks his email and read the one i sent him...he is absolutely OVER THE MOON!!!! he's so excited...can you believe it???? this woman is PERFECT!!! hubby and I snicker about it...thought we'd let him drool over it for a bit...the evening went on...had some dinner, and me and hubby go downstairs to watch a movie...later on that night around 11pm or so, we go upstairs to get a snack...dad is sitting there pounding on the computer keys...we ask what are you doing? he says "oh man...i've been writing this bikini model back...been typing for 2 hours now, but I think she's worth it!!!"

OMG!!!! we TOTALLY FORGOT TO TELL HIM IT WAS A JOKE!!! ahhhh!!!! when we told him, he almost hit the effin' roof!!

OOOOOPPPPSSSS!!!! he still loves me though thank God!! ha ha

Yes, I watch AGT. Kevin won my heart and votes the first time he sang. I don't care how he physically looks (actually he was kind of cute last night) or how he dresses or messes up singing, he will get my votes. Last night, I heard his voice quivering and seemed to be off key a few times but I knew he was nervous. I just love him and have compassion for him because he is for REAL not a put on.
Go Kevin.....you won this American heart!!!!! There is a LOT of great talent this year!!

yeah...his voice wasn't/isn't "perfect"...which is maybe why I like him so much. all the "greats" out there are never perfect when performing live. and you're so right. he's just so real and honest.

oh and...how did that magician do that????? lol..i'm baffled.

i loved to share d adating disaster with you. I had a date once with this gorgeous man, but problem was when he came to pick me up in the car, his mom was siting in the front seat. We went to a club that night, and he was dancing with mom on the dance floor, I was at the bar drowning myself. The I'd call him up on a weekday, and i'd say wanna go4 coffee, he's like no I can't my mother would prefer i stay home on the weekdays( It was like 8pm). ( did i mention he was like 32 at the time). Then he said that if we were to get hitched he wants to bring mom on the honneymoon, but seperate rooms. oh, did I also mention he didn't want to "do anything until marriage". I couldn't believe what a waste that was. When i tell my friends why I broke up with him9 cause I think most of us want some kind of closeness, touch all that good stuff, they don't believe me. I should have known better than to go out with someone who had the same name as my father. Alanurse, I figured there was nothing boring about you. I'd love to hear some of your stories, cause they sound interesting, and really juicy kinda like a soap opera. LOL. But you sound like a very strong women, and have grabbed life by the horns, and have made the best of it.
