Days of Our Lives - MESSAGE BOARDS

I have watched Days, since I was 10 years old, beginning in 1986. Getting rid of John and Marlena is an outcry. As far as I'm concerned, Drake and Deidre are the one's responsible for bringing in the most viewers and improving the shows dismal ratings (when ever they are actually given air time). The fans have been let down so many times. We were promised a wonderful storyline for John and Marlena when John was resurrected. Well,we all know that didn't happen. It's a slap in the face to let go of Drake and Deidre after what happened to Drake last year. John and Marlena appear to be the only interesting characters on the show right now with a potential for a great storyline. Didn't Ken Corday listen to the viewer's when Drake was first let go in Oct. 07? I know I will not watch the show and I know many other people who won't as well, once Drake and Deidre are gone. Why does Days keep on bringing in new characters (Melanie, Sandra Ferguson, the guy from Passions?) instead of investing in the characters they already have? The storylines are not good. I have to watch old Days storylines on YouTube to get entertained, because these current stories are boring. Why is the show hanging onto Abe and Lexie, Roman, Kate, and others before getting rid of John and Marlena? I just don't get it. I can only hope that this decision is temporary and John and Marlena will not be off the air for long. If this is the case then give their fans some hope, so that they will continue to tune in.
