Days of Our Lives - MESSAGE BOARDS

Please tell me this is not true. Marlena and John is a big part of days, without them, it will be a disaster. Its already bad enought to take Nick off the show, but Marlena and John no way. This is very sad, because I've been watching days since I was a kid and now I'm 56 years old. Days is and alway have been my favorite soap.

Its not the end of the world. They are getting too old anyways. Im sure they will be back eventually. Life moves on

Age has nothing to do with it. John and Marlena have been on Days for along time. They are a BIG part of it. They have been doing a wonderful job. Marlena is not one of my favorites but I would hate to see her go. You have to have your favorites and not so favorites to make a soap worth watching. And John is a WONDERFUL actor. I love watching him as a good guy or bad guy. Days need to re-think who they are gonna get rid of. I would hate to see Days fall apart.

Well it could of been worse I think. But I suppose it was the actors with the highest salaries that had to go?? Should of axed Roman, Lexi, Abe and Chelsea instead to make up for Deidre and Drake's salaries. I don't however believe they will be gone long.

I hate to see them leave, but I'm sure he'll get his memory back first and they will leave happy, maybe a xmas wedding then a long third or forth, whatever honeymoon. Hopefully it won't be long till they are back again.

My understanding is that a pay cut wasn't offered to them but it was offered to Peter and Kristian, how fair is THAT? Drake will do ANYTHING to save DAYS and if he was asked to take a pay cut, he would've for the good of the show.

Also, if Drake and Deidre are "too old" the younger actors are too young and unexperienced. I'd rather watch a fabulous actor like Drake and his ability to make ANY script believable, and I'd love to see these younger actors make BAD scripts enjoyable like he has had to throughout most of his career on DAYS. I'd love to see them look as awesome as he does when they're in their early 50s. Anyway, it is a HUGE mistake to fire them (and I can say that even though I'm not a Deidre fan) and this mistake will turn around and bite the show in the arse. I'm done with DAYS when Drake goes and THAT'S a fact!
