Days of Our Lives - MESSAGE BOARDS

I have read on some of the other well known days sites that Drake H. and Deidre Hall have NOT been "Officially fired". It looks like they will just be off the Canvas for a month or so. (like Lucas was) a while back. So perhaps not we can relax a little more.

Something I want to add - if you read all the news sites that have info on the john/Marlena topic all it says is "they will be off screen for an unknown period of time" this to me just sounds like they will go away and THEN COME BACK. What does everyone one else think?

I would like nothing more then to believe this.. But I heard Drake was told he would be free to seek work elsewhere after January..
But.. Who knows.
Regardless, His and Deidre's last Day will be mine as well. I wont watch a minute of this soap after they leave. And I have no faith in any Happy, touching send off, It will be rushed and shallow like ALL of Higley's work. And there leaving makes no sense what so ever considering all that is happening now.
Frankly Corday is a fool if he thinks any storyline he wants to push can somehow advance this soap without this couple around. Firstly Higley simply is not good enough to pull it off.
In my opinion if Corday wanted to commit soap suicide He should have started with Higley, then himself.. and allowed someone who cares about this soaps History to take over. AND .. If this was Sony's condition for renewal, He should have told them to stuff it and that he would sell the soap to another Network before destroying His fathers legacy. Now THAT .. would have taken Balls.

It was before I broke the news here last night. It was on either the Sony boards, NBC board, or Days Royalty.. It was told from a supposed insider who said Drake was called at Home by Corday and told the news of his future (Or lack) and told he could seek work after January *Very different then the last time he was let go*

Im not swearing it to be fact, I just know I read it along with the breaking news.

You're so right about this situation. It is the final nail in the coffin.
You know, if they would only give the show to people who LOVE it and know what the hell they're doing. They could put it on a premium channel even...I donno about you all, but I'd personally pay a few bucks a month to watch this show as it's meant to be seen.
Instead, the whole infrastructure is being rotted. I wish there was something we could do. I feel helpless. Silly to be so worked up over a fantasy world but...Salem is the last place I can go to get a dose of that special je ne sais quoi that is day-time drama. It's been something special I've been able to enjoy my whole life. I feel like it shouldn't be ALLOWABLE to rob people of such a truly cultural excape.

They are gone after January.

From What im hearing Blake Berris,Molly Burnett Josh Taylor,Lauren Coslow,Bryan Dattilo,Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols Could Be Next Will Only Weeks or Days To Live So Just Keep That In Mind

They have only been renewed for another 18months so maybe this is Corday's way of winding the show down and closing out the stories. Days has scene it's Days and I'm sure Corday and cast and crew are a where of it. We are just the last to know because they want us to watch till the end.

Don't let Ken fool you. He just SAYS that to try to get their fans to keep watching DAYS and hope that they'll return a few months down the road. Drake's last show is my last time watching DAYS...no Drake, no me.

Strange move. It's obvious they can't do much more with their s/l together, it would defginitely be great to have them move on from each other. They are great characters rich in history.
