I agree get her outta there before no one anyone wants to watch is left.

They definitely worked! Fans of Y&R complained and got rid of the head writer, and now it's better than ever! And Nick was fired once before, and fans complained, and then he got rehired! So we CAN have a say!

What drives me crazy is that while this autism story is generally well written, it is BOR-ing and I think it is ridiculous that Dena is using this show for therapy writing!! THey probably kept Abe and Lexi on just for that storyline, when really, those two should have been let go before John and Marlena.

I think what Darlotto was saying about Days needing to join the Bell family is correct, but how do we do that?

Who was the head writer between 1999-2002? God the writing was SO good then...the teen storylines-with Brady, Philip, Chloe, Sean, Mimi, Belle-were fabulously written. Remember that summer treasure island story? Those were the GOOD days! I feel like the writing now is just hideous..Dena explores and then drops plots to the point where it's really insulting. Remember over the summer when Phil Hollingsworth was held captive by John, and there was this BIG plan to destroy Philip's character, and then that was COMPLETELY dropped! And Dena clearly hasn't done the research on any of these characters-CHloe would have NEVER had sex in the elevator with Lucas! I absolutely despise her, she is ruining the show! Please sign the petition, and in the meantime, let's try to get Ed Scott back!

Oh, and if anyone could tell me who was writing from 2000-2002, that would be great!

Ok, my bad, I don't know if I want Ed Scott back as producer-he and Higley produced that "summer of love" crap that didn't go anywhere. But I really like Gary Tomlin-he's a Phloe fan! So keep him as producer and get a new headwriter!

As a counterpart to my "weird storylines" post, I think we need to keep this going. Rumor has it Higley's sabbatical might be longer than planned-supposedly there's been pressure for her to stay away. Please sign this!!

That's interesting that they don't include men as a demographic-I know guys who watch soaps! And I don't know why not-soaps have drama and suspense after all!

I think CW is taking the lead on writing-the "fire and ice" rose that Philip gave Chloe today was a nod to their high school days, and Higley doesn't consider anyone's history on this show. She's just awful...hope she takes a permanent hiatus.

The writing has been jauntier this past week. That's what I will say...if DH is on a hiatus, then let them take notice! LOL
I appreciate your post, man fan! I LOVE watching DAYs with a male. It's so much FUN to have that counter-part to share with! Guys really can and DO love soap operas! You're right, the people who care about demographics should consider the male population as well. I've known many male Days fans in my life and have met a few fans of other soaps as well.
I didn't know Vicki was writing for GL now. I'm sorry she has messed it up for you. They should never have gotten rid of Another World and then this wouldn't be a problem! Sigh*
I keep saying this: why don't they just make soaps PREMIUM shows? Put them all on one channel and charge a subscription fee. That way they can afford to pay the actors and hire real people to write appropriately and we would never have to worry!
