Days of Our Lives - MESSAGE BOARDS

Well, we are learning that some of our beloved characters are getting pink slipped or leaving due to salary disputes.

So far, John, Marlena, and Phillip are out the door. Even though Phillip will be recast, according to Chrissi, I still can't believe that we will not be seeing Dee, Drake, and Jay on screen anymore. There are so many other characters that deserved to be written out so I know we have discussed our favs and least favs but who do you want to see gone and who has to be saved? Let's do top 5 of each.

Kate (Can I count the ways I feel NO sympathy for her?)

Lexie/Abe (when's the last time they had a good s/l?)
Chelsea (I used to like her but now she's getting on my nerves).


I haven't mentioned any of the other characters because it honestly doesn't matter to me if they remain on DAYS or not, I don't really tune in to see them.

You all should keep in mind that the reason those actors were let go is because they were paid a lot and the show has to cut back in order to stay afloat. There is nothing the show can do about this. Getting rid of some of the other cast won't make up for the inflated $$ of some of the actors.

I'm upset about it too but just want everyone to understand they were not fired for being crappy or anything!!

It's interesting too how they've added two new actors and put them in front-burner s/ls while leaving the majority of the vets on the shelf. They have these marvellous older actors that they rarely use, are letting two of the most beloved vets go because of budget cuts but they have no problem hiring new actors for recurring and pivotal roles on the show?

Hmmm. I don't pretend to know what's going on behind the scenes but it does make you wonder where the common sense is going.

Wow, so it's true, John & Marlena and Philip are going for sure. Well, What kind of show can they have when they let go of the main characters? Wow, this show is really terrible.
