They have not officially been fired. They will finally get back together and leave town for an unspecified period.

But, there will be a wonderful love story for us to watch while they get back together. I am sure that Drake and Diedre will do it up right..just for us!

I sure don't plan to miss a day between now and January.

I look for Drake to win a big Emmy this year, and maybe Diedre too....

I think Drake and Diedre in real life are both old enough to retire and just enjoy the rest of their lives. After giving us many wonderful years of great romance and beautiful love stories, I think they deserve that if it's what they want.

Maybe they will be back from time to time for special appearances. And, if the shows ratings drop the way I expect them to..you never know.

But, I would rather see them leave happy together than watch years and years more of Stephano messing with them.

I believe in happily ever after.:)

I'm very sad about Marlena & John not being on Days...I thought lifers for sure once you've established yourself as a fixture!!! I'll be watching too but I think it just sucks...I can't imagine right now how it will be once they are gone

Diedra and Drake have done a fabulous job anchoring the stories on DOOL for decades.... best wishes to them in the future.

It is now time for other characters to emerge and be developed with the same commitment to romance and intrigue.... here's hoping the writing team can pull it off.... honestly, it was time for a big change.... however, a year and a half is not long to prove that DOOL still has staying power....

Once upon a time Julie was to Days what Erica is to All My Children, for years now that has been Marlena is to Days what Erica is to All My Children - I know Ken Corday is faced with tough choices, too bad he usually makes the wrong ones. Guess that's the end of the road for this 30 year viewer - thank God for youtube.

ITA times 100!!! There is QUITE a few of the new characters who could be let go. They do nothing for the show.

I'm in shock that Deidre and Drake have been let go...absolute shock. I can't imagine the show without them. I mean I mainly watch for EJAMI, but I have watched the show off and on over the years and Marlena is the queen bee of that show, and John her king, I can't imagine the show without them.

WHat is going on???!

I only watch Days because of the 'Vets' - Everyone else is FF for the last six months. Takes me 10-15 minutes to watch the show now. I really enjoy Phillip and his character he is an asset - now he's leaving. Storylines are horrible. These writers have just tore the Brady and Horton families apart. I'm really surprised they will remain on the air for 18 more months if all the talented Vets are gone. I will be gone by January if this is true!

For me they might as well have not renewed the show at all.
They have been paying these actors this long, why now do they have to take away our beloved John & Marlena? There is probably only less than 2 years left?
It's stupid
Who's next Bo & Hope?
There are practically no vets left that have an actual s/l.
I'm done with this fiasco in January.

if Drake and Dee leave in jan, so do i, ill stop watching and just look at the comings and goings tell they come back!!
