Days of Our Lives - MESSAGE BOARDS

A deal has been reached between NBC, Corday Productions, and Sony Pictures Television to keep Days of Our Lives on the air until September 2010! What great news! However, as part of the deal, it has been understood that many on-screen changes will have to be made including cast cuts. As previously announced, Jay Kenneth Johnson has left the role of Philip Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives, stating that most likely, "Money was the issue," and the role is reportedly going to be recast. This is just the beginning of many on-screen changes and cast cuts at DAYS! It has also been said that if Days of Our Lives follows certain parameters on the show, that the show would automatically be renewed for another year which would keep it on the air until September 2011! One change that I would say needs to be made right away is the writers. I say Dena Higley needs to be fired as Head Writer of DAYS immediately! What do you guys say about all of this?

Yay! To the renewal. Now they just have to use this time wisely. They really shouldn't have lost JKJ. he really was the only good Phillip IMO. They have plenty of characters they are doing nothing with, they need to come up with great s/l's for the ones they feel there is a story to tell for and then make cut. Phillip has plenty of story left while, others seem to have done just about everything already.

At this point I have to agree with you about Dena Higley. There are a ton of great actors on Days, yet the acting and S/Ls all are so boring and bad. I would say that's the writing showing through. Something definitely needs to change on that front.
