seems to me that the writers of the show keep taking it in a direction that I do NOT want it to go.

For Example:

J&M Divorce..no!

Nick a Killer..no!

Melanie an evil vixen..no!

No family for Philip..no!

Chloe and Lucas..no!

Sami separated from her Children..no!

What I really would like to see is:

Nicole is really the one with the split personality. She is unaware of her other self, and really does believe that "someone else" killed Trent. There is so much they could do with 2 Nicoles and with a psychiatrist who works to "merge" the two of them.

John should start to slowly get his memory back...so that he remembers his family and Marlena who so desparately need him. However, he should keep some of his new personality. His objectiveness, his humor, and his enthusiasm. Marlena should change her mind about the divorce. An opportunity for a wonderful love story can be told here.

EJ the soft wuss wanting a picket fence. Yeah...that's not working for me. I need some trouble coming from him. He's better that way.

Like Nicole and the splits thing. But I would like too see more of the vets. John/Marlena Def more Steve and Kayla. Steve and Kayla i would like too seee more of. We need more of "real" stories on the show. I want too see STD scares less of this Sci Fi crap. I mean we have seen Mel and Chelsea do the whole Sami thing over and over again. Sorry but ALi is the only Sami dont try too copy it please. Dont want too see a rerun of Roman and Marlena with Sami and Rafe! Dont want too see a replay of Nick's mom with the pain pills. Its all be done and said. Lets try something new!!!

Phillip:

I see Phillip as alone and lonely right now. He has hooked himself up with too many women who are already in love with someone else. He needs someone who will love him and only him.

It would be a good story line for him if the adopted mom of his son, Tyler (pocket) would show up on his doorstep recently widowed and penniless. She tries to give Tyler back to Phillip because she is homeless and no longer has the means to care for him.

Phillip, being the soft-hearted guy that he is, will take both of them in. She will work for him at the Kiriakis mansion and help care for his son.

There will be no romance at first because she is still mourning for her dead husband, and he is busy with work and worrying about his mother.

All kinds of cool things could happen in the meantime, and eventually they do fall in love; and Phillip will realize that the love and family that he has always wanted is right there under his nose!

Melanie:

It would be so cool if Melanie turns out to be Nicole's daughter. Maybe that one time when Trent beat Nicole so badly that she ended up in the hospital, she actually had a child, but Trent told her that the child had died. Maybe that's when her "other self" first emerged, and her other self remembers it, but she does not. Maybe that's when she left Trent and never looked back so she never knew that she had a living child that Trent was raising, and using, and abusing.

It would be fun to see a teenage "wild-child" living at the DiMera mansion causing all kinds of Chaos and Havoc for EJ and Stephano! LOL

Speaking of Stephano...I would love to see him in a "Scrooge" type story line at Christmas. I don't think Days has ever done anything like this. But, to have old Steffie visited by the Ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future would be so cool. When he awakens he will have a revelation about how much more important "Love and Family" is in life than power and money.

Of course, after Christmas, he will have a long way to go to prove himself to his family and to the citizens of Salem. He will have to try to make amends, especially to Marlena, Roman, and John. Also, he has made a lot of enemies over the years, so there can still be plenty of evil forces around that he will have to overcome.

But, he and his sons will be the ones having to fight them instead of unleashing them on the citizens of Salem.

EJ is taken out of the picture. He is Stephano's favorite son, so one of Stephano's enemies abducts him and locks him away somewhere.

In the meantime, Sami returns from witness protection, EJ's baby in tow. John and Marlena, anxious for Sami's return have purchased a big house for her and her babie's to live. And, they have hired a nanny to help her take care of them.

Rafe is sent off to find EJ.

Nicole is in the mental ward of the hospital recovering from her split personality. When she has her baby, arrangements have been made for EJ to take him home, but EJ is gone; so Nicole actually asks Sami to take care of her baby until she gets well.

Although she and Sami have never gotten along, she knows that Sami is a great mother, and after all, her baby is a half-sibling to Johnny, and unbeknownst to Nicole, also Sami's new baby.

At first, Sami does not want to do it; but when she sees Nicole's baby, he looks so much like her own newborn, she finds it hard to say no. But, she must tell Nicole about her having another EJ baby too.....

:D Wouldn't it be cool for Stephano to read the Christmas Story at the hospital, and little Johnny and Ali are there along with Ciara and little Theo....what a twist...grandpa Stephano!!!!

Yes! And, that would tie in well with the scrooge story line. He could be dressed as Santa, and everyone will be standing around talking about what a wonderful Santa the hospital found this year....then, freak out a little when they find out it's Stephano...but the kids love him, and think he's the real Santa!

Chelsea:

Chelsea knows Nick better than anyone else, and she knows that he cannot possibly be a killer. She sets out to prove, despite his confession that someone else killed Trent. Bo tells her to stay away because he does not want his daughter involved with a drug addict and a killer. But, Steve the Private Eye who has been investigating the case on his own has some important information for her.

Steve is the one who uncovers the identity of Melanie's mother. At the same time, Nicole's new doctor makes a comment to Nicole that since this is not her first child, she should have no difficulty during the delivery. Nicole is stunned as she has no memory of ever giving birth before.

Roman:

Roman gets involved in a missing person's case. A new character; a distraught mother whose 8 year old child has vanished asks for his help in finding her son. He has been missing for a year. She lives in the next town over, but the police over there have all but given up on finding her son. They have a lot of missing person's cases. At one point, they even accused her of doing something to her child.

She is a widow, and her son was all that she had. It's a cold case and Roman does not have the manpower to assign someone to take it on. But, there's something so appealing about the woman that he feels inclined to take on the case personally. The two of them work together to uncover clues to what could have happened to the little boy.

Great thread. Using it in my Friday thoughts!! The writers don't seem to understand how to write, let alone how to write Days.

Thanks Chrissi. That means a lot coming from you. The writers can feel free to use any idea that I might put forth here. But, I like happy endings, and like Marlena; I believe everyone has some good in them. LOL

Max:

Max has some terrible anger issues that need to be resolved. Really, so does Chelsea. And, as Kate advised her granddaughter, "holding on to that kind of anger will destroy you."

There is a new psychiatrist coming to days, and since the writers are not getting Marlena involved in Max's story; how about this:

Steve and Kayla go to see the new psychiatrist because they still have marital issues to work out concerning the whole Ava thing. Not real serious, but enough so that they feel they need to talk to a counselor just so they can sort it out and put it behind them so they can move forward.

During one of their counseling sessions they mention their concern for their daughter, Stephanie who is involved with an angry Max.

As colleagues, Marlena also has a conversation about this Max guy. Marlena believes he really needs some counseling, but thinks she is too personally acquainted with him to be much help. The psychiatrist asks Marlena if perhaps she could persuade Max to come and talk to her.

Max continued:

The psychiatrist persuades Max to look inside the box Trent left him to perhaps find answers to some of the questions about his past. When Max opens the box, he finds a letter that his mother wrote him before she died. He also finds notes that indicate that it was his mother who wrote that book that Trent took credit for. Turns out that Max inherited his genious tendancies from his mother, not his father.

Trent also leaves a letter telling Max that desserting him was the most right thing he ever did in his life. He admits that due to his gambling addiction, he never did anything but use, abuse, expliot; and destroy the lives of those closest to him including Max's mother and his own beautiful daughter.

He tells Max that he inherited his "beautiful mind" from his mother, not him. He also tells Max that he inherited his mothers kind, protective, and generous personality. Had he not let Max be raised by the Brady's; his father would have surely exploited and destroyed all the good in him the same way he did his mother, his sister, and his sister's mother.

Although he realizes that advise from him is the last thing Max ever wants, he hopes that Max will understand that he should channel the anger he feels into something more constructive so that it does not destroy him. He hopes Max will instead become the kind of person his mother was, and that he will show his family and his future family the kind of love, strength, and integrity that Shawn Brady raised him with.

Another note implores Max to look out for his sister, and reveals the story of Melanie's mother. How Melanie thinks that her mother died during childbirth; and how Melanie's mother was told that her child died when she was born; and was so traumatized that she does not even remember having her. He does not, however, reveal Melanie's mother's identity.

This will give Max a story line where he and his friends set out to discover: Who is Melanie's mother?

bghwme I almost always agree with your posts and this thread is amazing! I love every single idea you have. You know the characters and you have created ways for them all to interact while still having their own distinct AND VERY GOOD storylines. Wow! This thread shows how lacking our writers on Days are right now. They don't know how to use the characters and don't seem to understand motivation at all. Thanks so much for this! Really!
