I think with having an abusive father, husbands, and being so unlucky in love, to have a child of her own, someone to love her and someone for her to love will change her for the better. I enjoy Nicole mean, nice, whatever, so to see a tender side of her with a child would be entertaining to watch and would very much develop the character.

I can reverse the question and ask why does Ej deserve happiness. He has inflicted so much pain on so many people he deserves to be miserable for the rest of his life. I think Ej has done some improving in his life and has tried to do good, just as Nicole has and that is why I think these two could make a great couple.

If you believe that Nicole deserves happiness, then I believe EJ does as well. He was raised by Stefano which speaks for itself. When EJ came to Salem, all he knew was to do Stefano’s bidding. He had never experienced love – either being loved or loving someone. He really didn’t even know how to behave properly in society; all he knew was Stefano’s ways. So EJ has come a very long way and deserves some happiness.

So just because both EJ and Nicole have come a long way to overcome their sordid pasts, does not mean that they will make a great couple. I can see it just the opposite to where they each may want a more nurturing relationship with others.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Nicole; she is my favorite character after EJ. I just don’t see them living happily ever after, just because of their personalities.

Oh Lumiforever, we won’t ever agree and I admire your passion for your couple. But alas…Yes, EJ had it very good with everything handed to him, but he did not have love. He may have been okay mentally, but he was emotionally crippled. It takes time to heal the latter.

Now that Nicole is pregnant, perhaps Stefano will go after her baby and give Sami some relief.

Jr has told Stefano several times that he was loved..he and Stefano have had that discussion a few times..
Which was why Jr had a hard time turning his back..Stefano did give him love..
Jr was supposedly an "international race car driver" before arriving in Salem.. Stefano was in Salem..so how does Stefano control a grown man who was traveling all over the world?...

Grown men go to law school..not boys..I guess we are left to assume JR was away..at law school as a man..

JR struggled growing up..?..he has always said he had the finest of everything..and thanks Stefano for that...
He may have tried to hard to impress dear Ole Dad..but he was not controlled..or manipulated..
Stefano didnt force Jr's hand to do anything..go back watch the videos..
Stefano never told Jr to shoot John that was his own way of handling things..
Stefano pushed JR to "charm" Sami...never to rape or harm her...again his own methods of dealing..
JR is typical of a spoiled rich kid who went bad..
Thats it and thats all...he still uses the Dimera name when it is to his advantage...he loves the power of it..
he simply loves power...

Her choice has always been Lucas...

IF Jr ever loved Sami he needed to let her go..and he never has... Lucas has several times and Sami comes right back to him...
Looks to me like that is the real..end game...

He tried to repay Stefano in kind for all the things Stefano had provided to him. It was quite a misguided thing to do; however, that was all EJ knew how to do at the time. He wanted Stefano to be proud of him. EJ has come a long way since that time, especially once he learned what his father is capable of doing.

Where there is love..there is no need for power..." All the DiMera men love power; that’s what makes them interesting. Power does not preclude love, nor does love preclude power. Victor and Caroline are a great example.

EJ has always loved Sami for who she is – feisty, headstrong, etc. He loved that about her. Only after the twins were born did he become frustrated by her, as he is trying to be a more responsible person and Sami is still the same old Sami.

Her choice has always been Lucas... Her choice may have been Lucas, but he is turning her away. Even Lucas is realizing that Sami loves EJ and is now being a friend to Sami, encouraging her to come clean with EJ about the baby and her true feelings for him.

Looks to me like that is the real..end game... Yes, Sami goes back to Lucas because that’s what she is used to doing; it’s comfortable. As to EJ letting her go, he pretty much did, as he has tried to move on with Nicole. Sami has been trying to go back to Lucas, but the latter knows better. He knows how Sami really feels. Yes, that may be love on Lucas’ part, in that he is letting her go.

I realize that we will never agree on the endgame, but different opinions are a good thing.

~) Okay, here is my version of this story line...
We all know Sami loves EJ and when she finds out Nicole is pregnant, she doesn't tell EJ......Now here is the twist...even though I disagree with characters losing their babies, this is just a scenario of what could happen. Sami will lose her baby....maybe witnessing a murder and getting shot as someone mentioned...she is in the hospital, say ICU in a coma, fighting for her life as well as the baby's life. Lucas will tell EJ, and he will stay by her side and never leave hospital...eventually she loses the baby but pulls through herself...this is a good time to leave to get away....Little Johnny gets sick and somehow it comes out EJ is not his father, (even though I want him and Ali to both be EJ's). This leaves Sami with no child belonging to EJ therefore they share nothing. Nicole has a boy and now she is the mother of his son, even though EJ loves Sami, he will be with Nicole because Sami has a "break-down" and pushes him away because when she supposedly lost EJ's baby, she can't have any more children, therefore, she will never have his child and she really hates Nicole now.....???
