Hi Everyone,
After reading Dakota’s comment I decided to do a rewrite. I wasn’t a hundred percent happy with the way EJ figured out Stefano wasn’t in that bed. So here you go I hope you enjoy.
EJ set off the drive to the state sanitarium. He keeps flashing back to Sami and all of the fun times they have had. Bad thoughts are going through his head, what if he doesn’t get Sami back. What if he doesn’t get her back in time, for her to get her cancer treatments?
EJ: Talking to himself: It took so long for her to come to me freely. EJ shakes his head and chastises himself. “ Damnit EJ, get a hold of yourself, your going to find her.”
EJ pulls up to the sanitarium and walks in. He talks to reception and indentifies himself; a nurse escorts him to Stefano’s room.
Nurse: “Mr. Di Meria you can sit with him for awhile but not too long because it’s almost time for his bath. EJ shakes his head yes and takes a seat next to his father’s bed. EJ is shocked at the state his father is in. He has lost weight, his cheeks are sunken in. EJ knows it’s best for Samantha and her family that he is out of commission. Although, EJ kept help but feel sorrow and regret, Stefano is still his father. At one point in EJ’s life he truly loved his father and wanted to be like him. What young boy doesn’t want to be like his father? Especially, someone as powerful and strong as Stefano; he is no was a force to be reckon with. EJ has seen his father come back from the dead more than once. EJ flashes to hearing his father say many times the phoenix has risen again. All of a sudden EJ is jolted out of his thoughts by the nurse.
Nurse: “ Hum,” she clears her throat, “it’s time for his bath.” “ I could come back if you need more time.. I am filling in for another nurse that ended up in a car accident.” The nurse looks down at her feet. “Unfortunately, they are not sure if she is going to make it, so I will be your father’s nurse for awhile.”
EJ: “No, please don’t let me stop you; I am not really sure why I am here.”
Nurse: “What, he’s your father of course you should see him.” “Like everyone else in town I have read the newspaper stories about him; but he’s still your father.” The nurse starts to prepare the bed around him for Stefano’s bath.
EJ: “Would you like some help?”
Nurse: “ That would be lovely, let’s sit him up so we can take off his shirt.”
The two of them sit him up, unbutton his short and slip it off his shoulders. Neither the nurse nor EJ are saying anything. EJ keeps thinking to himself his father would die a hundred deaths if he realized he was reduced to sponge baths.
EJ holds him in a forward position while the nurse washes his back. EJ stops cold in his tracks. His father had a scare from his back to his front when he received his new kidney; this person lying in this bed had no scar. EJ starts to scream “you bastard,” and strips Stefano of the rest of his clothes. Stefano also had a scar on his thigh from a car accident, no scar. EJ stumbles back and falls into the seat next to the imposter’s bed. Meanwhile the nurse is standing there in shock not sure what to make of the situation.
EJ: “Madam, this is not my father, this person is an imposter.” The nurse ran out of the room screaming security. EJ finds his phone and dials Roman Brady.
EJ: “ Roman this is EJ, I was at the state sanitarium to see father.. I have discovered the person in this bed that was to be my father is an imposter.. I think you need to come here immediately.” The phone becomes really quiet, EJ thought he lost the connection.
EJ: “ Roman, are you there?”
Roman: “ I will be there in twenty minutes stay put.”
EJ hangs up the phone reassuring Roman that he isn’t going anyplace. All of a sudden a big smile crosses over EJ’s face. If father is alive, he must have Samantha and not some random freak. She’s alive!
Roman shows up to the Sanitarium with 4 uniform officers and Bo. Both Bo and Roman walk into the old man’s room in shock. While EJ was waiting for the men to show up he started to study Stefano’s face. He noticed his skin didn’t look right. Upon further investigation he realized the person in this bed had on a latex mask to look like Stefano. EJ peeled off part of the mask and left the rest on so people can see for themselves.
Roman: “EJ, oh my god, I wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t see it.” “ Are you o.k.?”
EJ: “We need to find father.. I think we need to keep it quiet that we know this isn’t Stefano.”
Roman agrees with EJ, he has this man removed to a private room at the other end of the Sanitarium. Roman posts a guard outside the door and starts to interview the staff. A makeup artist is called in to repair the mask. All of the men decide the less information that gets out the better for Sami. Finally, strong enough to drive, EJ gets into his vehicle and heads back to the mansion. EJ has allot of thinking to do, obviously Stefano is the kidnapper but where would father take her? EJ walks in and find John sitting at his desk as usual. EJ walks over to the wet bar to pour himself a drink and tries to find the words to break this to John.
EJ: “ John, I have something to tell you, and I don’t know how?”
John: “ Let me guess you figured out Stefano is alive and well and not at the sanitarium.” EJ, grabs his ears and shakes them, and starts to shake his head. No way did he just hear what he did. John continues, “some of the accounts have funds that have disappeared..when I investigated the disappearance the banks wouldn’t do anything because the proper codes had been used to extract the funds.” EJ walks over and grabs pours himself a bigger drink.
EJ: “You knew this and didn’t think I should be privy to the information.”
John: “ Well, how did I know it wasn’t you?” “ I needed to wait to be sure.”
“ EJ, you and I both know Stefano is the only one that knew of all of his holdings.” “ I am starting a complete search of the Di.Meria empire to try and figure out all of its holdings.” John stops talking and just sits and watches EJ. John knows he has to help EJ find Sami. First reason, Sami is a good kid and doesn’t deserve to be in Stefano’s clutches. Second, EJ will be completely useless to him until she comes back. Third, if he finds Stefano before Roman, or the ISA he can kill him before anyone realizes it.
The days are turning into weeks; law enforcement is having no luck locating Sami. John and EJ are searching all DiMeria holdings for any clue that might help pin point the whereabouts of Stefano and Sami.
Sami is being a good girl and waiting for the right time. She is finally over her infection and doctor Skye says her baby is doing fine. She has been behaving enough that they granted her permission to go outside with Tiny and Skye. Today, Tiny got called back into the house to help the maid so Skye aka Shane Jr. ended up going on a walk by themselves. Sami senses something just isn’t right about Skye today, but she just shakes it off. Skye grabs her hand and leads he out the back door down the stairs to the beach.
Guys this will be the last installment for awhile I just found out my dad died.
