Why did EJ blame Sami for setting him up with the police?

Why did EJ blame Sami for setting him up with the police?

He really doesn't trust her does he or Rafe i know he made his piece with them before but i think EJ actually they are going pull a Grace on him again and try and keep him from his daughter. EJ is right i wouldn't trust Sami or Rafe with my child its pretty clear that they set him up with the police even Sami thanked Roman today for dealing with EJ so she could Sydney for the night i found that comment odd considering EJ had already agreed to her having her and did you notice the smirk on Rafe's face when he walked of with Sami i am so happy EJ is on to them i know he never let them take his daughter of him he got his brains back at last.

Not really sure where you're going with this, but...

I don't believe EJ is grounded in thinking Sami will keep Sydney from him now that he knows about her. She doesn't keep Johnny from him. In fact, EJ was the one who tried to keep Johnny away from Sami.

Yes, he had agreed to let Sydney go home with Sami for the first night, but he started to change that when the police arrived. So Sami's thanking her dad, in my opinion, was her gratitude for being able to spend the night with her daughter (why not, EJ has been with her for MANY months prior). Sami learns her dad didn't make the arrangements rather Mateo changed his story and the police were following the information given.

Bottom line...EJ has learned the people closest to him have been bold-faced lying to him. He does not trust anyone and has become paranoid.

I think he does feel like Sami might allow Rafe to adopt Sydney the way she did with Grace. And Nicole said Sami will never let you raise sydney the way I did and I think he is starting to believe Nicole might have been right. I would not put it past Sami or Rafe to try and take sydney from EJ. He doesn't feel like he can trust anyone or believe anything anyone tells him.

Sami did think Roman set EJ up. She said thanks him for doing that so she could have Sydney alone. He said I wish I could take credit for that but the hitman really did change his story.

I think Nicole said what she did to EJ b/c she knows Sami is going to be with Rafe. Sami and EJ are not going to be together, married like Nicole and EJ-- so it's going to be a shared custody thing.
Roman did not set up EJ. He said so in the episode today. The hitman changed his story.
