I was just looking at the cast list, and of course we all know Melanie's last name is Layton. But Nicole is listed as Nicole Walker Layton Roberts Kiriakis Dimera. I'm confused where did the Layton for Nicole come from? Maybe what we all have been wandering is true that Melanie is Nicoles daughter.

And yes Nicole was married to Melanies dad but that was Trent Robbins...well was his last name Layton at that time? Im confused

I think they just made a mistake. She was married to Melanie's father Trent so maybe Trent was going by a fake name when he was in Salem.

Well they need to specify that at some point. I swear I dont think when these writers write stuff they dont think about past stories and names and whose related to whom. lol

From the cast list part of the site, "Nicole Walker (still married until Trent's death and the show called Nicole's last name Layton, not Robbins as Layton was his real name.)"

Nicole was married to melanie's dad Trent Robbins, but I read on some website that after Nicle looses Sydney she finds out that Melanie and Mia are her biological daughters. Something about Trent stole nicole's fertility eggs.

I didn't realize Trent and Nicole's (Nicole's married) real last names were Layton instead of Robbins. That would answer how Melanie has the last name Layton (even though Melanie acts like she doesn't have a mother that even exists). Nicole has two maiden names: Mendez (her biological father's name) and Walker (her mother's maiden name). Faye switched her name back to her maiden name Walker and changed her children's names to hers.

According to Days history Trent's last name is Becker. Either he changed his name or Days re-wrote history. Does anyone know what happened here?
