Quote briebrie: Quote artemesiany: I think EJ is getting a raw deal from some of these posts. It truly AMAZES me that he is getting trashed all the time, when Sami is a liar, Nicole is a liar, Mia is a liar, Stephano is a liar, and he is the ONLY ONE telling the truth about his feelings, which, are getting trampled on by the above mentioned liars. I have come to realize that the show is ALOT like real life, not as far fetched at all, because lying is so common nowadays, and many feel sorry for the liars and make excuses for them in our victimhood society. So how could we expect in a fictional soap world for the characters to act with any sense of personal resposibility- if we did, then there would be now show. That said, I am starting to dislike the "new" Sami so much because she is just alot like Nicole, except with a sugar coating and more respectability among the characters in the show, that I wish EJ would find a better woman than her, not one who calls him a good father one minute, then trashes him the next. I just don't get how Sami's past and Nicole's past are so easily forgotten to make EJ conviently the villian- it makes no sense. If one character's history of lying, etc. can be forgotten in certain circumstances (Sami), then how come EJ's every last move, even when he hasn't been the one lying in this storyline, is treated as if he is the bad guy? I think I need to stop watching this show. I agree with you. My own opinion is that EJ is the only one who's trying to do the right thing, by realizing he has no legal right to Sydney and has to give her up. He gets bashed for not doing the "DiMera" thing and using his power and influence to illegally keep Sydney. Instead, his pushing Sydney away is seen as "throwing" her away, when he's 1) identifying with Chad not being able to parent his child and 2) he's just trying to get the separation over with as quickly as possible. What good would it do for him to pretend he's her father? D*mned if he does, d*mned if he doesn't. Everyone else is lying and getting a free pass in this storyline. Even Mia is turning into a liar (even though she's being manipulated into doing so). Nicole has everyone on her evil side except EJ, and yet EJ is seen as the bad guy. That is because Ej is a bad guy...Nicole lied to him because he lied to her about his love for her..Nicole did what Nicole does...anything to get her way...Ej knew that about her from the very beginning and even praised her for it...now, he is MR. NOBLE and has to do the right thing...whatever..he is thinking about revenge, plain and simple...he is not doing right by anyone. Do I think he should get to keep the baby..prob. not...If she were really Chad's...Chad has rights...do I think he should fight (FAIRLY) for his family...Yes I do! But instead, he is so hurt that again, another woman got one over on him, he would toss an innocent baby in the street. That to me, among other things, makes Ej's a bad guy. |
Quote Sunnydaz:
Quote Snore: Sami loves who the writers say she loves, & it seems to change fairly regularly. The fact that she's about to 'reunite' with Rafe after a pretty short separation seems to indicate these two probably don't have that much longer. What are they going to do, sit around & raise EJ's babies, or maybe Rafe will adopt them? There is just no s/l potential there. If there was long term potential, it would be Sami & Rafe's child at the center of this major s/l reveal.
|

Nicole is the one who wants to hold on to a child that isn't hers. Sorry, EJ can't fight fairly for a child that isn't his and on top of that, one that was acquired illegally (bought on the black market!) to begin with. A judge would laugh in both Nicole and EJ's faces. And then put them both in jail. |

Prolong the inevitable? Or another option? |

Also Sami hasn't changed. She picks and chooses when she does the right thing on how it benefits her. She was going to let Rafe adopt Grace and not even tell the father he had a child. How would she like if the tables were turned????? No matter who the father is it is not right to pick or choose when to be a good person and do the right thing. If she had really changed she would have known it was right to tell EJ the truth about Grace. |

Also, magic, I am interested in your opinion on what you think EJ should have done since I believe you were one of the posters who compared EJ giving up on Sydney as "throwing her away" knowing he has no legal rights. (I laid out EJ's options in my post to LUMIFOREVER, but I am not technically savvy enough to figure out how to copy and paste it here, LOL). |

Just curious as to what does "legal rights" have to do with being a father? Once you love a child does that really matter? I guess someone like Ej can turn off love feelings quickly regardless. |

He has done one respectable thing since he has been on the show that was telling Marlena about John. On Sydney the jury is still out for me. He has an eternity to go before he can balance the scales. Now the last wonderful thing he is doing is becoming a drug lord, now that’s something to be proud of. You said Nicole is poison to EJ, I would imagine that’s how Sami feels about EJ. Someone said that Sami hasn’t changed, she is a much better person now, even in the safe house she was her old self to everyone, but losing Grace made her a better person, at least now she is trying to help other people, not just herself. Now when EJ and Sami find out Sydney is their child, is EJ going to do the noble thing and share Sydney with Sami, or try to cut Sami out of her life, like he does with Johnny. My bet is on keeping Sydney all to himself. |

Maybe I wasn't clear on this one. I just meant that at this point, EJ is planning revenge on someone, anyone who he feels has deceived him. Nicole will be among those who he gets revenge on, but she won't be the only one. IMO-- ANYONE who has deceived him will be getting it. That will be part of his going to the dark side. I don't know that I said that EJ threw Sydney away, but if I did, I meant that when he found out that Syndey was not his bio child, he tossed her aside; when he finds out that she is his biologically, then everything will be OK with him. Love for a child isn't like that. It is unconditional and doesn't depend on biology. I realize that if Chad were the father, he would have rights to Sydney, but that doesn't mean that EJ should have tossed her out of the house with nowhere to go. Nicole-- OK-- I get that, but not an innocent baby. That is low, even for EJ and Stefano. |

Not saying he's Mr. Noble (caps not necessary) but he's not the bad guy here. He knows that he couldn't have Sydney at DiMansion without Nicole and Nicole to him is poison. Why couldn't Ej keep Sydney at the mansion w/o Nicole? He has thrown her out in the past and has made no secret that if Nicole leaves him that Sydney stays, so that doesn't make sense to me. How is Nicole his poison? Ej has done truly awful things since he has been in Salem, before he even knew Nicole and I am sure that when Nicole is out of the picture, he will continue to do awful things. I think Ej could fight in a court of law to keep Sydeny...he might not win...prob. wouldn't but he should want to fight to keep the daughter he has raised since birth. I think Magicsteacher post #32 is spot on!! |

Quote briebrie: Quote LUMIFOREVERANDEVER: Quote briebrie: Quote artemesiany: I think EJ is getting a raw deal from some of these posts. LUMIFOREVER, I forgot to add, do you think he should have let Sydney stay at the mansion and continue to bond with him until a judge finally rips her from his arms, or do you think he should have paid for Nicole and Sydney to stay somewhere, letting Nicole have a free ride and excusing her behavior until Sydney is ripped from Nicole's arms? Prolong the inevitable? Or another option? Sydney stays...Nicole goes. He kicked Sydney out of his house...the bond is already there..it would be hard to lose her no matter what or no matter when. |

Quote Sunnydaz: Quote briebrie: Also, magic, I am interested in your opinion on what you think EJ should have done since I believe you were one of the posters who compared EJ giving up on Sydney as "throwing her away" knowing he has no legal rights. Sunny, you and I are interpreting the scenes differently. I see EJ brooding in DiMansion and flashing back to scenes of him with Sydney as his not really being able to turn off his feelings. His actions toward Sydney don't reflect his true mindset in my opinion. Like I said, I think he's trying to get the pain of losing Sydney over with as soon as possible. JMHO. |
