Quote Sunnyflower: Quote DOOL1965: Someone should talk to Chad; he is treating Sydney like a thing not a human being. He is a teen going to school, doesn’t have a job, so mom and dad will raise his child, they are lawyers they sound like they are busy and don’t have time for a baby. Making a baby doesn’t automatically make you a good father? The way he is acting he is showing how immature he is. Exactly. He is probably the only teenage male on earth who is not mopping his forehead with relief that the girl took care of it for him. Sheesh. I don't see it as a man wanting to connect with his daughter at all. Rather, it is a power and revenge thing with Mia. I'm sick of everyone treating Chad like he just wants Sydney because he thinks she he's property!!!! |

Quote Used2bminer: Quote bghwme: this would be ironic: What if Chad sides up with EJ and tries to get custody of Sydney for EJ. And, Mia sides ups with Sami, and tries to get custody of Sydney for Nicole. Of course, Nicole who has no means of support will not win in a custody battle like that; so that is why Sami gives Nicole the money to leave the country. The way I see it...there isn't a battle to be had. The child belongs to Mia and Chad period. There was no adoption and Chad was left in the dark. I agree, but this will change if Sydney turns out to be Sami and EJ's. |

Chad was sent to military school. I'm guessing because he was a bad boy. If he really cared for Mia why didn't he ever call? EJ is giving up because he knew Nicole didn't do the adoption right and knew one day someone would want to kid. I see why EJ is being that way. I can't wait for this to all be over. I hope EJ and Sami bond over this, even if it's just as friends, I love watching them two together. |

You just answered your own question, he didn't call her b/c he was at Military School, and how was he supposed to know she would be pregnant! He isn't a mind reader! |

I don't feel like anyone can blame Chad at this point. This was all done with out his knowing. Because he wasn't around doesn't mean oops sorry you missed out should have been there. True thing is Mia should have contacted Chad's parents and given them the chance to track Chad down to let him in on what was going on. Not saying that is what they would have done but Chad has more right to that baby right now than I think anyone does. (At least until it comes out that it isn't his) |

Last I heard they still have phones. |

Quote daysfan1023: Last I heard they still have phones. Exactly!!! Just because you are in military school doesn't mean that you can't call someone, email them, or write them a letter. He claimed that he thought about her and still cared for her, so he should have gotten in touch with her somehow if he did. I realize he didn't know about the pregnancy, but if you care about someone, you don't just brush them off for a year. |

I agree he should have called but he is a child and that doesn't mean he gave up rights to his kids just because he didn't call his ex girlfriend. What he should have done doesn't change the facts. |

I agree. I just meant that if he really cared about Mia, he should have gotten in touch with her somehow. It doesn't change the fact that he thinks he is Sydney's father and does have rights to her. |

For all she knew, he abandoned her, and she made a decision in his absence. That, IMO, is the proper thing to do. She thought he hit her and quit her, and he offered no evidence to the contrary until he pops back up a year or so later, and spends his time basically harassing her. What a guy. He could have and should have let her know where he was and what was going on if he truly cared about her. My pity for him is non-existent. |

What he should have done doesn't change the facts. I completely disagree. She had no idea where he was and how to contact him. She thought she was abandoned. And she had to make a decision - there is a time line on this - and she couldn't just sit around *hoping* he turned back up AND that he would want a child. Given his behaviour, she had every reason to think he wanted nothing to do with her, let alone a child. You abandon a woman, you lose your rights. |

I don't find it realistic. It's obvious to me that he is merely a device to bring about the baby switch reveal. A guy doesn't take off for a year, make no contact whatsoever with her, and then suddenly become all honorable and manly and wants to take care of an infant. |

I think with Chad, it is more about his ego and revenge on Mia for hiding it from her and being with Will now instead of him. Reminds me of someone else on the show. |
