I am sorry this is off topic of days. May I start too say that today i lost my sister too cancer today Oct.15. I hope that all the ladies on the board will take time this month too get a exam too make sure they are safe and have no lumps are in any danger of getting this awful thing they call cancer. I wish that noone would have too watch a love one suffer through this but sadly it happens.
I know this is off topic and iam sorry too the boards but i fell like i need too make this plea.

My heart goes out to you. My sister was diagnose with breast cancer 5 years ago. She is doing ok. The sad thing is her husband died of esophageal cancer last month. So you and you family take care and love each other.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My husband and I have lost 4 of our grandparents to cancer and I know it's very difficult.

I am so sorry for your lose. I pray that you and your family get through this. I know it's hard right now. I lost my brother almost four years ago. I did not think I would ever be able to stand it but it does get easier to live with. It still hurts and I still miss him but it does get easier to accept as the days go by. I still catch myself thinking about calling him to tell him something or buying him something... I don't think that ever goes away, it just gets easier to handle and accept.

Thank you for starting this thread. Most women do not think it can happen to them so they put things off.
Even though my aunt died from breast cancer, I thought I was one of those that would never have to worry about it BUT GUESS WHAT, I had it too. I was only 31 years old when it was detected. I was divorced and trying to make a living for myself and a 13 year old. I went through three years of treatments, surgery, trial drugs, ect ect ect....before they finally gave up and said, you have to have a total radical on both breasts.... so please ladies, don't think you have to be old for this to happen to you.

I place my plee with yours. It has been almost 17 years since my surgery. I received a MIRACLE in more ways than one. I give GOD the Glory. I do not know why I was spaired so I try to encourage others and help them any way I can.


Check out the Vera Bradley Center. They have a research center that is really wonderful. They are really making headway in the cure and treatment of breast cancer. They also help families cope with things, whether it be treatments and care for loved ones and/or the lose of loved ones.

Mikey, I'm so sorry about your sister. I also had a very dear friend battling breast cancer and passed away in May of this year. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
