In watching yesterday's episode, Kate tells EJ that if she divorces Stefano she gets nothing, but if he dies and they are still married she has controlling interest in DiMera Holdings... |

I don’t have a clue, but it certainly came out of the blue and I wasn’t expecting that bomb shell!!! I can’t see Stefano doing something like that too EJ, but maybe Kate is just trying to rattle EJ’s cage! |

We saw him offer to help when they chatted at one of the establishments (Brady's Pub?). So, he had time to think what he wanted, have the contract drafted, and wait for her to show up at his door. |

Another theory is that Stephano knows he is in poor health and could die at any time. That is why he married Kate before giving the business over to EJ. This is his "revenge" that he promised to all of his kids when they turned away from him when he was in that Marlena-induced coma. Make EJ prove himself worthy of it by becoming a murdering maniac DiMera, and then whisking it away from him at the last minute. Or, it could simple be : He told EJ that he wanted to tie up a few "loose ends" before signing control over to him, and then he married Kate. Maybe Kate was the "loose end" he was talking about. His next step was to sign things over to EJ, but he had a heart attack before he could get it done. This could very well be it. Maybe he married Kate just as Philip said, but Kate thinks that Stefano really cares for her and named her to ensure she was taken care of... but he was going to utlimately give complete control to EJ as the final "check-mate" move on Kate... brilliant deduction bghwme... good thinking! |

Knowing her past track record and what she's capable of (especially recently) I highly doubt Stefano would leave her everything. She's probably just assuming. |

She's probably just assuming. i don't think she's assuming anything. Kate is not stupid. she would have known what she was signing. It definately doesn't make sense though...Stefano knows what kind of woman she is...he wouldn't give her THAT much power. If Stefano ever died i bet Stefano would make it look like Kate did it to him, and in turn would cause the prenup to go right out the window. she wouldn't get anything if they could prove SHE killed him. |

Been a while since Stephano has been "dead." Perhaps he's going to fake his death so he can see how his empire will run without him? |

In many states if someone is left an inheritance and they murdered to get the inheritance, the state takes it and divides it up between the children, with a large chunk going to the government. Maybe Stephano did this because he feels that if Kate stands by him and doesn't try to murder him, then she earned what he has and her freedom. If she does murder him she gets nothing and E.J. and Lexie inherits. Plus his attorney probably has the combo to the safe and if Stephano is murdered he will have the evidence sent directly to the police station. Maybe he is trying to force Kates hand in a will she stand by me or try to kill me type test. I do not know about all of you but I would like to see Kate and Stephano's characters fall in love. I would love to see them as a happy couple. I know neither of them deserve it but I would still like to see this happen, maybe this can lead to a Caroline and Victor coupling. Stephano is probably thinking if Kate is a loyal wife to him, she deserves it more than his kids, who have been fickle and in the past not loyal to him. They have all turned on him at some point and if kate doesn't, in Stephano's mind she is more deserving of what he has worked for. I also think that Stephano knows that the truth will come out about Sydney and when it does E.J. will probably do everything to get Samantha to be with him again. He knows that Sami has a great deal of pull where E.J. is concerned. I think Stephano is planning for every circumstance. If E.J. and Sami get back together E.J. will leave the family business like he did last time but Kate wouldn't, I haven't seen Kate give up anything for a man. |
