Quote Sunnyflower: Quote DayzDreamin: Quote LUMIFOREVERANDEVER: Quote bghwme: What Nicole did was way wrong, and she should have told EJ the truth from the beginning. The worst thing Nicole did was trade Mia's child for Sami's and poor Mia still does not know it. She still thinks Sydney is hers. Nicole has hurt Mia, Brady, and Sami more than anyone. The bad thing is, she THINKS she did the right thing! OMG That being said, a lot of this was EJ's fault. He planned a nice weekend getaway for him and his pregnant fiance', Nicole. Then, he sent her to the lodge alone and flew off to some other country to do his father's bidding. Nicole was all alone when she lost that baby, and if it hadn't been for Brady she might have died too. He claimed to still love Sami, but he knew full well that it was his father's own hitman that was after her. While Rafe was taking care of Sami and her baby, and fighting for their lives...EJ was living the good life with his father and Nicole. He told Sami after she got back that sweet little story about how he showed Johnny her picture every night while she was gone and all that, but just like his father, he knew that with Sami out of the way; he would be free to raise Johnny the way he and his father wanted without any interference from her. He used his own wedding to Nicole as a "cover" so he and his father could put a hit on Philip, have him killed and the wedding would be their Alibi that "they had nothing to do with it." He and his father both knew that Tony's death was an accident, but they wanted to kill Philip anyway. That was just their excuse. Egotistical, power-hungry maniacs. That is what the DiMera's are. This is just scratching the surface with Ej...boggles the mind how people still want him with Sami. Great post as usual! Yes mind boogling (personally he isnt fit for a pet snake!). According to the summaries of the CDN day ahead show (our Thurs show) Lexie will read him the riot act regarding his attitude towards Sydney (you go Lexie!!!) Because it is a SOAP OPERA and Sami and EJ have tons of chemistry. A pairing, with EJ's faults and all, would be interesting, fantastic viewing, unlike her and a certain someone else. I'm watching a TV show, not trying to hook up my sister. I guess my definition of chemistry between a couple is not blackmail, kidnapping, and rape. I prefer sweet romance, and true devoted love-- that's chemistry in my book. |

Your definition sounds about right to me!! A hero is never any of those other things!! And I agree the best EJ is a sad and bwoken wittle EJ!!! |

I agree with Magic sweet romance, and true devoted love is chemistry. Showing violence on a soap opera is a terrible thing to do to the viewers, there are women watching that are in the same situation that Sami was in and Nicole is in, living with an abuser, and the show is telling them that it’s OK for a man to choke a woman and abuse her. I think it is a terrible message to send! There are so many other ways to display EJ anger and disappointment then to be an abuser. |

Good grief. I certainly hope you guys don't use DOOL as a moral compass??? I found the scene thrilling in a scary way. I look to the show to entertain me, not teach me things. |

So our shows should be about cheap hookups? The days of true love conquers all are done? Personally I find it all kinda sick that @ this point half the town has slept together!! I call that CHEAP!! and degrading! Just like EJ's charecter! Him throwing out syd was the last straw for me! |
Sunnyflower![]() |
Well, I am sorry, but that is sad. I watched DOOL when I was a teen and I was capable to see it for what it was. Sami drugged Austin to get him to sleep with her, Marlana was possessed.....It was clear to me that it was over the top fantasy. |

And actually to answer your And as a high school teacher, I can tell you that young people are so influenced by soaps and other shows that they watch. They are not yet mature enough in many ways to distinguish what is real and what is not and look up to these soap stars. Many who watch are as young as 11 or 12 years old and have little parental supervision when watching. They do not need to watch abusive behavior like EJ is displaying or a man kicking his baby out of the house. They need positive role models. As far as sweet romance and devoted love between people in love being boring, Sunnyflower-- not for me. I find it refreshing and wonderful. To each his own, I guess. |

Children aren't stupid and it is up to the parents and other adults in their lives to teach them right and wrong, not a soap opera. For heaven's sakes. and it's up to the parents to control what their children watch on television BECAUSE certain children don't have the maturity level to understand what they are watching and that it's NOT REAL!!! children DO learn things and get certain ideas in their head by the types of television shows they watch. I made the huge mistake of letting my 3 year old daughter watch Bambi. she cried for a week because bambi couldn't find his mother because the hunter killed her....it was funny in a way, because she's so innocent and i know it's just a cartoon...but it's a prime example on how kids develop and think when watching certain shows, and if they are too young to understand the big picture it can really screw em up. i keep telling my daughter that it's just a story, but we have TONS of deer in our yard, and every time she sees one of the baby ones she starts crying all over again asking me "where bambi's mother mommy?" i should have waited till she was older to let her see that movie, cause at her age she takes things WAY TOO LITERALLY!!! that being said. parents can't shelter their children 24/7, and they WILL see something that they are too young to understand. so soap opera AND other shows SHOULD be careful what they air on tv. and i'm not saying they should turn all show rated G or anything like that, but EJ with his hands around Nicole's neck was a little too much. imo anyways. |

I learned the hard way that these things aren't for tender ears(like I said I don't let my kids watch) I think maybe we need to be reminded that just because the sex is good it doesn't = anything! You need to be friends too! Thats why for me Im a lUmi but Safe isn't bad(I'd rather see that than Ejamie!! at least between Lucas and Rafe they both love her for her and their is no lies and manipulations between them!! |

EJ was being the biggest jerk in the world! He shouldn't've been so mean to Sydney. It's not her fault that Nicole lied to EJ. I personally think that she should have just told him the whole, ENTIRE truth right then and there. |

Well, that is a really nice idea and that's the way it should be, but unfortunately, in many cases, it doesn't happen that way. I am sure that you have heard of how video games, internet sites, tv shows and movies influence the way teens think and act. When they see men putting their hands on a woman and that man is popular, then, in many cases, they see it as acceptable behavior. EJ was way out of line in the way he acted toward Nicole, and the way he acted toward Sami at the funeral home. Angry and hurt, of course; physical and violent- no way. |

Its a joke you guys take this so seriously to me i like entertainment i don't die of boredom watching Safe or Lumi if i wanted watch nice couple i would go and watch the Waltons. I love EJ because he is a exciting character he is bad boy and does wicket things but he has a loving side to him as well and he shows it when he is around Samatha and his kids she loves that woman. I love the thought of a Brady and Dimera falling in love Sami is like the female version of EJ they are so alike they just belong together. |

I couldn't disagree more! Sammi is nothing like EJ. Yes some of the crimes in name are the same but the reasoning behind it is much different! Sammi's crimes(for the most part(were because of her misguided notion on love) when Sammi raped Austin(not that I was okay with it, in her head he was going to love her. Where as when EJ raped Sammi it was about stem cells, he wasn't thinking this is gonna make her snapp outta it and love me so much! He was thinking I want what I want when O want it! Also @ least Austin has no recolection of what happened where as Sammi had to choose between savng Lucas' life and letting slime touch her(with a gun pointed to her head, like she really had a choice). They are not alike! Sammi has a heart! and EJ has none! |
