I think she does call Roman and discuss this situation with him and ask him to look into it. That is when she finds out that Sami had already asked her dad to investigate Meredith.

To bad the writers dinot give Sami or Ari a clue like a name spelled wrong or a quote that Raf would say left out so the two girls could be like investigating clues keep the story exciting... not just same old "run to Dad"

I kept thinking the same things about giving the girls a clue that would alert them that Rafe didn't write his emails (and so was in trouble) but no, you are cleverer than the writers who should have thought of this to keep the storyline more suspensful.
