Um hello she consumated her marriage! There for she needs to divorce Lucas first! Just because she is a S%$Nk and din't really love him doesn't make it null and void. I missed what the priest told her I hope it's no because thats not how it goes!! If they want to incorperate religion into a show(whoch DOOL always has) they should try and portray it correctly!

You can still get a marriage annuled in the Catholic Church even if it has been consumated. If you married the person under false pretenses, or there were things that you hid from your spouse, it could be grounds. I have a friend who was married and had a child, and he and his wife had their marriage annuled. Besides, she and Lucas were never married in the church. They were married by a justice of the peace, I believe.

I couldn't agree more with you on everything. Father Matt giving his blessing on adultry and then an "annulment" is just so lame. I guess I shouldn't be that surprised from all the endless conversations about trying to justify Danloe's lovestory when its not love that they even have, its lust. I see them having zero in common, heck they haven't even dated so its so pointless and I'm not a fan. But the religion aspect is just so bad, they can't get that right- just sad.

Ah, yep!

It seems couples are either married 40+ years, or divorcing before the warranty on the refrigerator expires!

I plain just dont like Chloe. Her asking for an annulment is ridiculous.

Chloe didn't marrie Lucas in a church...they went to Vegas. Thus she would need to get an annulment via the courts and could probably have an annulment due to fraud. The fraud being that she loved Lucas.

If you're Catholic, there is only one union that the church recognizes, even when the couple is legally divorced. There are, however, very lengthy procedures that one can go through to have the marriage "ANNULED" in the "CATHOLIC" church. Salem's church is Catholic so that is the way it would go. Chloe is doing the right thing in the eyes of the church by getting a divorce and then annuling the marriage. Perhaps if more religions would undergo this process... there might be less divorces!

I'm going to discuss this in my thoughts this week, I think!

They married in Vegas by a JP. Since they were not married in the Catholic Church, there is no need for the annulment. If they were married at the Catholic Church, she'd need an annulment to marry Daniel there.

So I'm not sure why she's doing it! Writers overlooked this!!

Thank you! I am Catholic and my first marriage was annuled. Because one day I knew that I would want to be remarried in the Catholic church
So you are right about this. but what I don't get is was Chloe's marriage to Brady annuled? If not then she needs to get that done before getting her marriage to Lucas annuled. Ok I know this is getting way to technical for a soap opera, I am just telling you what I know to be true.( at least I think it's true)

You are so right on that one. In the eyes of the church, if she didn't get her marriage to Brady annuled, she couldn't marry Lucas anyway b/c she was still married to Brady. They really missed the boat on this one.

I just think the writers don't give us enough credit for knowing things like this! LOL

I am pretty sure in my state there is a three or 6 month annulment period, if you are married through the courts. The Catholic Church as stated above will grant an annulment but as another person seaid there are conditions and you have to have witnesses stating the reasons to the annulment. My mom (who was baptist) married my dad (who was Catholic) and she had to convert and have her previous marriage annulled through the catholic church. There was like a bunch of pages she had to fill out, her prev husband was abusive and he admitted to it, he was one of the witnesses, these papers then get mailed to Rome and signed off their. It was like six months before she got her annullment. Days will prob have her annullment in like a week.

She might be able to get the religious annulment after she gets the actual divorce.

If she's wanting a legal annulment, she doesn't have grounds for it.

I never liked Chloe. Sorry-but the girl who plays her cannot act for crap. She's awful. And Chloe IS a bad woman who likes to do nothing more than sleep around. I am with Victor on this one. She went from man to man...Brady, Lucas, Daniel...in less than a year it seems. And it was tacky for her to summon a priest to the park! Come on! A park? She couldn't walk her trashy butt to a church? And she acts allll happy about it too. It's like, HUH?? What is with that storyline? Sorry-I don't like Chloe, don't like Daniel, don't like their storyline. She's nothing but a walking pair of big boobs. Heh.
