It strikes me that there a some "missing" character traits that perhaps should have been developed or written in for some of the players on Days. |

Quote bghwme: It strikes me that there a some "missing" character traits that perhaps should have been developed or written in for some of the players on Days. Sami...she is 30-something now. She has 4 kids. After all the mistakes she has made in the past, it seems that she should have gained some WISDOM along the way. She is not stupid, and she said herself that she was tired of all the lies; so why did she turn around and ASK Stephanie to lie for her? Why couldn't this older, wiser, and supposedly more caring Sami just ask her that if she had any information at all that might help would she please come forward? I think there is a difference between changing and learning from your mistakes. I hope Sami apologizes to Stephanie for that one. I can understand IMPULSIVENESS and CURIOSITY, but if she just promised Rafe that she would not press what was obviously a very painful subject for him right now, why did she immediately turn around and go ask Arianna about Emily? I think she should have just confronted Arianna about the statement she made about how "that woman is going to ruin your life." I think I would have told her, I love your brother, and I know you don't think much of me; so what do you think now that you really know just how screwed up I am? Bo and Hope. They are so JUDGMENTAL. They of all people should know that things are not always as they seem. Shawn Sr. did not raise Bo to be Judgmental. He was a great man with a big heart who understood that sometimes good people do wrong things out of circumstances; and was always willing to lend a helping hand or a word of wisdom to guide them in the right direction. Hope was around Alice a lot. She did not raise Hope to be JUDGMENTAL. She was understanding and compassionate and saw the good in everyone. They are cops, so I understand that the job creates a suspicious nature. Does anyone watch "Flashpoint?" The cops on there do their jobs, but they also have compassion and understanding for the people in the story lines. Things are not always black and white, and their is a difference between "legally right" and "morally right". Stephanie thinks that her Dad was a "bad boy" who changed because of Kayla. I don't think Steve was ever really a bad person. He just liked for people to think that he was. Kayla just pretty much healed the pain he was carrying around and brought out the best in him. I'm not sure what kind of person the writers are trying to turn Philip into. Seems like he has always been a spoiled little rich boy trying to win his father's approval but never quite measuring up. He has always gone to the edge of the dark side, and then turned back at the last minute when someone appealed to his conscience or big-hearted compassion. With Kate for a mother and Victor for a father who is trying to teach him that the way to win is to not stop; but go in for the "kill." Then, I'm not sure if there is any hope for him at all. We will see. Brady...if the Kiriakis business is shady, illegal, immoral or whatever; then Brady clearly does not belong there. Or, maybe Victor is only letting him handle the legitmate and honest business deals? Victor and Philip are keeping him in the dark much the same way they intend to keep Stephanie in the dark? I don't know; but I am not comfortable with Brady being in that environment. Brady is not stupid. He should find out something and leave the premises much the same way Stephanie is doing. IMO I was going to post something about this. yeah...what IS their problem anyways? especially regarding Melanie!!!! wtf?? first Hope is talking Nathan, and is like 'yeah..THAT melanie. the one who sent Nick to prison' and NOW *****spoiler************* apparently Bo is going to "warn" Nathan about Melanie. WHY?????? even Maggie practically bit NAthan's head off, for being rude to melanie without hearing the full story. wasn't it Bo and Hope that arrested Nick. did they miss the part where Nick was all drugged out and holding melanie ransom...HE WENT PSYCHO!!!!! but in BO and Hope's eyes, Melanie's the monster? what's their problem? maybe Maggie should smack some sense into them too!!!! OH....and when Bo got all snitty with Rafe too...at least Hope rose above that one. |

IMO About Sami--- I think she did ask Stephanie to tell what happened to her with the kidnapping and all and Steph said no-- then she asked her to lie just like the kyriakis and Demera families do. I think Sami just did it because she was so desperate to get Johnny back. If Stephanie had told Bo and Hope the truth in the beginning when they asked her, then EJ would have never gotten custody of Johnny-- he would be in jail. As far as asking Ari about Emily-- that isn't the reason she went to the Pub-- she was looking for Ali. After she found out she was gone, she turned to leave and Ari was the one who stopped her and offered her condolences about Grace. That opened the door for the cemetary conversation where Ari said she was going to go sometime, too, and that's when Sami asked her about Emily. Sami being Sami--- and impulsive-- did it on a whim. I have often thought she was a little ADD--- no offense to anyone-- I work with the kids who have it and my one son does, too--- she is so impulsive and just doesn't think things through before she opens her mouth or does something. It's just like trying to kidnap her kids. Sami has grown up and changed, but there are certain traits in someone that IMO will never change and impulsiveness is one of them. |

I agree with you that they are trying to have Sami act more mature and grown-up. It has been said before that they want another Marlena. If they want another Marlena they should just bring "goody two shoes" Carrie back or maybe Belle. Sami wouldn't be the Sami we know and love if they try to turn her into something she's not. |

Oh my goodness - the way Rafe was carrying on about Emily, even the dullest of minds would feel compelled to look into it! He is coming off as a whack job, and if I were Sami, I would be very concerned and would have to look into it asap. And as for asking Melanie to lie - Sami is fighting to get her kid back. I would expect her to do anything. |

I totally agree. Sweet boring Carrie is much better suited to that role. I d0on't want them to whitewash Sami. |

I want Sami to be some different-- like not changing DNA results and plotting against people, etc., but not to change completely. Like Rafe told her before--- you are who you are and I love that about you. So, he knows who she is and what she is like. What I read is they want Sami to be a version of Marlena-- not exactly like Marlena-- that would never work. |

They should focus instead on creating enduring characters that are loved for their own unique traits. There is only one Sami and she has kept me watching over all the years in her own right. |
