So, I'm watching yesterday's show....Ej and Nicole are so great together, but anyway...

Nicole was telling Ej that she won't replace Sami in Johnny's heart and she was telling Ej that when she puts Johnny to bed at night, he cries for his mother. Ej's response, as cold and mean as it was triggered something with me.

Ej said, he's a child, he will cry, but he will get over it. He will get older, play games, have friends and the pain will disappear. This will build character. (how awful, but not why I made this thread)

I wonder if that is how kiddo Ej got through the day. Susan had Ej and left Salem when ej was a baby...much later, we find out that Ej grew up in New Orleans at his father's home. How/when/why did Susan give up her Elvis? Makes me think Stefano played some dirty pool and got custody of Ej and Ej, when he was a child, cried for his mother and his father, or whomever took care of him told him the same cruel jibberish that Ej was telling Nicole.

Ej grew up without his mother too and look how he turned out (and I in no way mean this in a positive way..he turned out BAD). I would hope he would want better for his son.

Anyway, just a thought.

Right now EJ is hurt,betrayed, angry, maybe once he steps back and really thinks about he might see that he is hurting Johnny. I do agree with you about maybe that was how it was with EJ as a child.

Was Celeste taking care of him, like Nicole is doing with Johnny?

I sure hope not LumiFE. A father's influence on a child is very strong. I'd hate to see Johnny become something his mother has feared since before he was born and when she was forced to marry him. There is one thing I'd like to comment on. I thought when EJ said difficulty breeds character it was pretty funny. Considering that EJ grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth and knows nothing about overcoming adversity or difficulties in life. Now Nicole on the otherhand would know what that is like and even she thought him saying that was wrong. Still I don't care if EJ is hurting right now.... he's going to make Johnny either resentful of him or brainwashed into thinking his mother is the evil one, when its the opposite way around. Again I reinterate that all this would have been a lot easier if Sami had never slept with EJ last May or stayed married to him when he was lying about the immigration stuff. Because IMO EJ shouldn't have any rights to Johnny. Just because he raped his mother doesn't mean he has any say in how that child should be raised. And because Sami was stupid enough to make the mistake of sleeping with him (her words, not mine) now she has to suffer the consequences or possibly losing her child to him.

Jeez, the rape again. It has been said over and over again. It's a soap opera. People do terrible things all the time on made up shows. They writers have dealt with it and moved on. It's so over. Everything in the past that Sami and EJ have done should stay there. Even if you take the rape away there would always be something for EJ haters to hate. He could turn into Lucas or Rafe and it still wouldn't be good enough.
