Nicole realizes that Rafe is going to be a problem for her with the baby switch story, as he keeps on investigating and is suspicious of what she, Mia, and Brady are hiding. So, she goes to Stephano and tells him what is going on. He delves into Rafe's past and brings out someone from his past to divert his attention from the baby switch.

There are two different versions of this spoiler;
1. Emily, whose gravestone Rafe visits, is an ex-girlfriend. Her sister is Meredith Hudson, played by Rachel Kinsey, who Stephano has brought to Salem to distract Rafe from his investigation.

2. Meredith is the ex-girlfriend of Rafe's who Stephano brings back to Salem to divert Rafe's attention.

Both versions say that this role of Meredith, at least as a diversion, is short-lived.

I think Merideth is the sister of the ex-love and she returns to plague Rafe's mind with guilt for moving on with Sami and not being loyal to her sister's memory.....especially if he has some responsibility issues with the events that lead to her death..... JMHO & specualtion.

if this is the story line, it is so stupid. They are just grasping at straws and not writing drama. We need this baby switch to end! It is the only thing that has people watching till October, well that is pretty pathetic, because they don't have much to write to give us a good ending. Really sad at how all these years have are heading.
