stay at home mom sami

why are people so upset that sami is a stay at home mom? i think that sami has always wanted to be a wife and mother and she is trying to live that dream. if a woman wants to be at home with her kids full time, there is no shame in that, for they are taking on a tremendous challenge, and should be respected for their choice. also, she has 3 young children and these years can be critical to so many childhood developmental marks. if she wanted to work that is just fine but she doesn't and that should be well received too. besides stay at home moms need a representative on soaps just like the work force moms (I.e. hope, lexi, nicole who makes a living by marrying rich men and lying to them...haha). |

Because it's boring to watch. This is a soap, not real life and nobody wants to watch real life! If she were working, we'd see opportunities for more interesting things to happen to her. |

If she were working, we'd see opportunities for more interesting things to happen to her.  more interesting than always having to fend off stepfano. i like her as a stay at home mom and she is still very, very interesting. what does it say if a character needs a job to be interesting. i think it says they are not written well, their charcator is not that interesting to begin with, and that they depend on the job to make them interesting not the actor or the dialog. |

being a stay at home mom is the LEAST boring, and the MOST rewarding "job", any mom can have, real life or not. |

I am a stay at home mother but I can afford to be. I think as long as someone (John, Marlena) is financially supporting her that is o.k. I know this is a soap and it is not real but I tend to have a low opinion of women that sit on a welfare system without doing anything to better themselves. I understand that sometimes it is a necessity but a mother should always be looking for ways to better her childrens lives. My husband can afford for me to stay home but I am also a full time student and that can be very hard. I know an argument will be Sami has three kids at home what about daycare and all those expenses. Well, why can't she work while the kids are with their fathers or grandma Caroline. I agree TPTB need to write some type of money arrangement in the story line because it is kind of confusing to know where she is getting her money. Sami could do a 24 hour course like E.J. did and get her law degree and then she can do contracts and stuff like that for John's company and then she could work from home. Or maybe Marlena and John sent her a debit card that hooks into their account. Money on tap. |

I still get into trouble being a stay at home mom and it is kind of fun. They could have Sami meeting someone at a play date. I think she would have more time to get into trouble being a stay at home mom that if she actually had a full time job. We are talking about Sami, trouble follows her. |
