Beth tells Katie what's really going on, Donna and Marcus divulge all to Eric and Ridge confronts Steffy about keeping the secret.

At Forrester Creations, Phoebe walks into the S&R department and tells Steffy that her seeing Marcus is a bad idea and that she heard them talking about Donna at Bikini Beach. Steffy says Donna hasn’t done anything to them, but Phoebe says people have a right to know who they are dealing with and says, ”Dad’s taking care of that right now!” Steffy is panicked and runs out.

In Eric’s office, Eric tells Donna there are certain things you tell a husband before marrying him and this is one of them. Donna knows she waited too long to tell him and begs him not to hold it against her. She explains everything that happened when she was a teenager and Eric lovingly rubs her arm. He wonders how Marcus came to town and Marcus says he tracked her down from his birth certificate. Thorne thinks when he found out she was marrying a Forrester he came running. Donna defends her son saying he hasn’t asked for a dime, but Ridge, Thorne and Felicia think he’s being deceitful. Steffy enters and blurts out that what Marcus is saying is true. Ridge can’t believe Steffy knew and questions her loyalty. Steffy says keeping it a secret wasn’t Marcus’s idea and that he just wanted to get to know his mother. Felicia tells Marcus that no one has anything against him, but it’s all very shocking and they don’t trust Donna. Marcus stands up for Donna and tells Eric that the only person’s feelings in this room he cares about are his because Donna loves him. He asks Eric to do the right thing by her. Eric tells Donna she was foolish not to tell him right away about Marcus, but he understands why she didn’t. Felicia demands to know how he could understand and Eric says because of the three of them! Eric says Marcus is not a scandal and he looks forward to getting to know him better. Thorne again questions Donna and she starts to explain, but Eric tells her that she doesn’t have to because there’s no rule saying they had to reveal every secret to each other. He confesses that he certainly hasn’t and they have the rest of their lives to get to know each other. Ridge is outraged and asks where Eric’s loyalty is to them. He wonders what will happen the next time Donna brings scandal and asks if anyone will be in his corner. Ridge then leaves the room and Thorne and Felicia follow.

Steffy goes back to the S&R office and finds Ridge waiting for her. Ridge says he knows she was an accomplice to their lies and she let them use her. Steffy says giving up a baby for adoption is neither a scandal nor a crime, but Ridge says she should have come to him and asks how well she knows Marcus. Steffy spits out, “You’ve hardly seen me in the last four years and now you’re trying to tell me who I can be friends with?” Ridge thinks Marcus lies a little too smoothly and tells her he loves her, but warns, “Stay away from Donna’s son.”

Eric tells Donna and Marcus he is deeply embarrassed by this chain of events and Donna thinks he’s talking about her secret. Eric explains that he meant this atmosphere of fear that has been created and tells Marcus he’s happy to get to know him. Eric isn’t defending his children, but says since they were children people have been trying to take this family down and they have always tried to protect him. Marcus assures Eric that he has his back too, but he doesn’t need protecting from Donna. Marcus says he was happy to learn he has a mother who loves someone as much as she loves Eric.

In Katie’s room, Katie asks Stephen if Beth seems reserved to him. He thinks she’s just overwhelmed and then they hear Brooke yelling at Beth. Stephen goes downstairs to find out what’s going on.
Stephen comes downstairs and Brooke tells him that Beth is leaving. He asks if she is alright and Beth says she’s had a lovely time, but she didn’t have enough time to pack decently before she left. Stephen asks Brooke to talk to Beth alone and she leaves. Stephen wonders why Beth wants to leave considering what just happened with Katie. He says everyone is so happy to have her here and says if she leaves, the damage could be irrevocable and he would know. Stephen thinks they should talk about staying permanently now that the girls have worked through their issues with him and assures her that it gets easier every time he sees them. He also thinks things are better between the two of them as well. Beth tells him he’s been forgiven and Stephen thinks maybe they can get closer and asks her to trust him to tell him what’s going on. Beth tells him, “You stay with the girls. I did it for years. I don’t owe anybody anything!” Stephen realizes the anger isn’t all gone, but Beth says she always knew he loved their children and her, but she has private things in her life that she can’t bring to Los Angeles because they won’t work here. Stephen wonders if she’s seeing someone and Beth says it’s not always about love.

Brooke goes up to Katie’s room and says she and mom were just having words. Katie doesn’t understand why they were fighting and says they should give her a few days to get back to her old self. Brooke tells her that Beth booked a flight back to Paris tomorrow
morning. Katie thinks Brooke misunderstood, but Brooke assures her she didn’t.

Katie comes downstairs and asks Beth how she can leave them at a time like this? She asks to talk to Beth alone and Stephen leaves. She lashes out at her mother and Beth says Katie can come visit her in Paris. Katie says she can’t because they don’t know what the air pressure will do to her heart and asks, if she dies, will she come to her funeral? Katie thinks Beth blames her for Storm’s death because that is the only reason she would want to run away. Beth insists it’s not true and Katie says she can’t even go to Storm’s grave because of the guilt she feels, but maybe she could with her by her side. Beth says, “Ok. Maybe next visit.” Katie can’t believe how badly Beth wants to get out the door and Beth calls her daughter demanding. Katie angrily accuses her of not wanting to be her mother anymore. Beth says the mother she remembers is gone! She finally explains to Katie what’s going on saying she can’t remember things because she’s had a series of strokes which is causing her memories to slip away and that it might be the onset of dementia. There’s nothing she can do to stop it and she can’t be the woman she once was anymore. The only thing she can be is a burden and she will not do that. Beth asks Katie to let her go because Katie will be better off.
