Brooke and Taylor go a few rounds, Stephanie consoles Eric, Donna shows up on Owen’s doorstep, and Brooke tells Ridge that Taylor is still in love with him.
Brooke asks Taylor who she would rather be with – Ridge or Rick? Taylor tells Brooke she’s being ridiculous and tries to deny asking for Ridge back, but Brooke presses the issue. Taylor says she’s not pining for Ridge and that she’s moved on and thinks Brooke is just trying to come between her and Rick. Brooke thinks Taylor shouldn’t marry someone else if she still has feelings for her ex. Taylor laughs at her saying Brooke has a pathological need to make her unhappy. Brooke thinks she’s just blaming her for all her problems over the past few years, but Taylor accuses her of using R.J. to rip her family apart. Brooke insists she was just fighting for her own family, but Taylor says Brooke took the love of her life away from her. Brooke says it’s obvious that Rick is not her first choice and Taylor explains that she’s just moving on and wants to be happy with a man who loves her and only her. She also points out that Rick is the one man Brooke can’t seduce away from her, which Brooke sees as Taylor’s way of getting revenge. Taylor orders Brooke to leave and Brooke asks her to think long and hard about her feelings for Ridge before she marries Rick.
Stephanie consoles Eric about Donna and he says she was right about her. Stephanie says he gave his marriage his best and she’s not surprised, because he has a good heart, which she always believed would lead him back to her. “Not that it has,” she adds. “Yet,” Eric responds. Stephanie says that’s up to him and Eric jokes that she never leaves anything up to him. Stephanie is just glad that he is here and alive and says that’s all she really needs right now. Eric thanks Stephanie for understanding and she asks if he’d like some time alone and he says yes.
Donna goes to see Owen at his new place, a.k.a. Ashley’s old house, and tells Owen that she ended things with Eric. Donna cries that she doesn’t have anyone else to turn to and Owen encourages her to explain what happened. She tells him about Pam and Owen thinks they should call the police, but she says Pam will hurt everyone she loves. Donna lets Owen know that she told Eric she was breaking things off because of him. Owen offers to call Marcus, but Donna doesn’t want her family to know something is wrong. Owen offers for her to stay with him and says that way her story will be believable. Donna sees the logic and thinks she can’t give Pam any reason to go after Eric or anyone else she loves. Owen assures her she doesn’t have to do this alone and hugs her.
Steffy wonders why she’s getting so upset about Ridge and Taylor not being together. She feels guilty bringing it up so close to Taylor’s wedding and thinks Rick is a good guy, but says their marriage could be forever. She tells her father she agreed to be the maid of honor, but she doesn’t really want to. Ridge says that he and Taylor aren’t realistic as a couple and that Taylor doesn’t have those kinds of feelings for him anymore. Ridge assures Steffy that even though they don’t live in the same house, they will always be connected as a family.
Taylor gets out old photos of her and Ridge and sadly smiles.
Ridge contemplates his conversation with Steffy as Brooke comes in the office upset that she couldn’t reason with Taylor about Rick. Ridge thinks Rick and Taylor might actually be right for each other, but Brooke doesn’t think she loves him the way he deserves to be loved. She tells Ridge that Rick is Taylor’s second choice. Ridge asks, “Second to whom?” Brooke responds that Taylor is still completely in love with him. Ridge thinks Taylor has moved on, but Brooke tells him she called him the love of her life. Ridge thinks she’s wrong, but Brooke recounts that Taylor said, “Give me back my husband.” Ridge is floored and Brooke thinks he should talk to Taylor because he is the only person she will listen to. She is concerned about Rick and also Taylor and asks Ridge to talk to her and make her understand. Ridge reluctantly agrees and Brooke is relieved.
As Taylor thinks about her life with Ridge, Ridge comes to her. Taylor realizes Brooke told him she wants him back. Ridge says, “I’m glad she did.”
