Eric pleads with Donna to give them another chance, Steffy wonders if Taylor still loves Ridge, Rick asks his mother to accept his upcoming wedding, and Brooke asks Taylor to make another sacrifice.
While Donna cowers in fear of Pam who is hiding in the curtains, Eric asks her what is wrong. When she remains silent, he assumes it’s because of their relationship and he tells her he misses her and then he kisses her. Eric won’t easily forget catching her with Owen, but he wants to try and work on their relationship. Donna breaks down and Eric notices she is trembling. Donna says now is not the time to talk about this, but Eric wants to settle things now. He gets upset saying he thought this is what she wanted and he doesn’t want to give up on them. Donna says it’s too late and things have changed. Eric asks if her feelings for him have changed and Donna says she didn’t say that. Eric angrily wonders what she is saying. Donna says she has seen the future and if they stay together it will be tragic. She has to end things in order to prevent that from happening. Eric won’t take no for an answer, but Donna says he is better off without her. Eric wonders if this has something to do with Owen and asks if she is in love with him. Donna tells Eric she will always love him (meaning Eric) and if you love someone you have to set them free. Eric doesn’t understand and says this doesn’t make sense. Donna pleads with him to leave, but Eric won’t. He wants to give them another chance and says this marriage is the best thing that ever happened to either of them. He wants it back and he won’t let her throw it away. He kisses her, but she backs away from him. Eric says, “I won’t let you.”
Steffy comes to see Taylor who asks after Marcus. Steffy says he’s okay and thanks her for checking on him and including him in the wedding. Taylor is happy to support her relationship and Steffy asks if she is really sure she should marry Rick. Steffy says she never stopped hoping that Taylor would get back together with Ridge. Taylor thinks that's normal for kids to want their parents together and Steffy asks if deep down inside she wants to be with Ridge. Taylor says she will always feel a lot of affection for him and Steffy thinks she still loves him. Taylor will always cherish the memories and misses their family, but things are good now and Rick is a big part of that. Taylor says she and Ridge had a complicated relationship, but with Rick everything is simple and he makes her his priority. She tells her daughter that everything will be okay and gives Steffy a hug, but Taylor doesn’t look so convinced.
Rick comes to see Brooke at FC and they discuss his wedding. Rick wants to be able to share this with her and wonders why she can’t put her animosity towards Taylor behind her. Brooke thinks Taylor should let him go so he can have the life he deserves. Rick insists Taylor is who he wants. Brooke points out that he will be traveling a lot for work and that he wants kids, but Taylor might not want to do that again. Rick knows there are challenges in every marriage and that it will take work. Brooke says it shouldn’t take that much work and these are substantial issues. Rick believes if two people love each other, they can overcome any problem. He is sure that Taylor is the woman for him and asks Brooke to tell Taylor that she accepts their relationship and that she is happy for them. If she can’t do that, then he doesn’t want her at his wedding. Rick is tired of trying to convince people that this marriage to Taylor is a good thing. Brooke thinks he helped Taylor through some difficult times, but asks what happens when there are no more problems or mountains to climb? Rick is frustrated with his mother, but she just wants him to be happy. He says they are going to get married surrounded by people who love them and support their union. He says if this is how she feels then don’t come!
Brooke goes to see Taylor after Steffy has left. She tells Taylor a little pain in the short term can avoid a lot of heartbreak in the long run. Taylor doesn’t plan on hurting Rick, but Brooke says she did the right thing with Jack, so she should do the right thing with Rick. Taylor is appalled at the suggestion she give Rick up, but Brooke says she will do anything to save Rick from this marriage.
