Marcus is rushed to the hospital, Donna goes off on Stephanie, and Brooke worries, as Katie takes Jack home.
Donna rushes Marcus to the hospital. After the doctors tend to him, Donna sits with her weak son in his hospital room. The doctor tells them that Marcus is lucky after getting a serious bite like that. Pending any allergies, he should be fine, but the doctor wants to keep him overnight for observation. The doctor leaves and Donna starts to cry because she could have lost him. Marcus requests, “The next time you order snake skin shoes, make sure they kill the snake first.” Donna doesn’t really think that’s funny and Marcus wonders who would have sent the snake. Donna has her suspicions, but doesn’t want to share them yet. A nurse comes in to check on Marcus and Donna leaves.
Out in the hall, Stephanie asks after Marcus and Donna asks, “What the hell are you doing here?” Stephanie expresses her concern for Marcus, but Donna wants Stephanie to leave. Stephanie explains that the accident happened at their company and she needs to get to the bottom of things. Donna tells her she will call the police if she goes anywhere near Marcus and accuses Stephanie and Pam of putting the snake in the crate. Stephanie is shocked by the suggestion, but Donna tells her she won’t get away with it. Stephanie says this was just a crazy accident, but Donna believes that Stephanie tried to kill her because of Eric. Stephanie insists she is not responsible and doesn’t think Pam is either. Donna admits maybe Steph didn’t do it, but she knows Pam did because of what happened in Big Bear. Donna asks Stephanie if she has heard from her sister, but Stephanie says no. She thinks Pam is scared and hiding, but Donna thinks she’s just waiting to get her. Stephanie defends her sister, but Donna begs Stephanie to help her find Pam before she comes after her again.
At the hospital, Katie holds Jack, while Brooke looks on worried. Katie says she is going to have a D & C and then she will be released. Brooke suggests she rest for a few days afterwards, but Katie says she just needs to be with Jack and asks Brooke if he can spend a few days with her. Brooke reluctantly agrees and Katie is happy telling Jack, “We’re going to go home. Just you, me and your daddy.”
Taylor looks out the window at her house and recalls giving Jack to Brooke. She then flashes to memories of her and Ridge’s life together. Rick comes up behind her and assumes she’s thinking about Jack. Taylor confirms, saying she misses him. Rick misses the little guy too, but thinks he’s where he should be. Taylor knows this and Rick thinks she sees the situation as half empty/half full. He asks if he can help fill the empty part up. Taylor says he does that very well and they kiss. Rick then surprises her by saying, “By the way. We’re getting married next week.” Taylor thinks he’s joking, but Rick says he’s got it all set up. Rick notes Taylor doesn’t seem excited, but she comes around to the idea and they make out.
Once home, Ridge tells Brooke it was sweet of her to let Jack stay with Katie. Brooke isn’t so sure because she got a strange vibe and explains how Katie was clinging to Jack like he was a lifeline. Ridge thinks it was because she just lost her baby, but Brooke thinks the last thing a woman in her situation would want is another person’s baby. Brooke says putting Jack in Katie’s arms was like giving her her own newborn baby. Ridge thinks she’s overreacting, but is proud of Brooke for giving Katie time with Jack and the two get romantic.
Steffy comes to see Marcus and cries as she sits by his bedside. She asks him to tell her he’s going to be okay. Marcus makes jokes about being a snake charmer. Steffy lies in bed with Marcus and he tells her the doctors gave him some anti-venom stuff and he’ll be fine. Steffy cries as she says she never thought she could lose him and that he’s too important to her. Marcus assures her he’s not going anywhere and that he has big plans for the two of them. Steffy tells him she loves him and kisses him.
After Brooke and Ridge have sex, Brooke says she might be paranoid, but she doesn’t want people to get the wrong idea. Ridge asks, of Katie? And Brooke says she’s worried Katie is trying to replace her baby with Jack. Brooke tells Ridge, “She called him her baby. Her boy.”
In her and Nick’s room, Katie sits in bed with Jack and Nick comes in asking if she’s really up for babysitting. Katie insists she’s not babysitting, she wants Jack with her. Nick thinks Jack looks just like Brooke, but Katie disagrees. She thinks he’s all Nick, but also thinks he looks like her own baby pictures. Katie tells Nick she couldn’t have gotten through this without him and that she loves him. Nick kisses her and goes to get Jack a bottle. After Nick leaves Katie says to Jack, “I wouldn’t have been able to get through today without you either Jack. You’re my boy. You’re my precious baby.
