Eric invites Donna to come see him, Nick and Katie discuss their new family, Bridget and Brooke have a mother/daughter chat, and Ridge has a few surprises for Brooke.
Katie replays Ridge’s comments about Nick and Brooke in her mind and instructs herself to stop it. Nick comes upon her and she tells him she knows about the custody agreement. Nick says it is the right thing to do for Brooke and Katie asks if he’s okay with it, considering he and Ridge will be in each other’s lives. Nick says everything will be fine and that he and Brooke are in this together. Katie wonders if Taylor couldn’t bond with Jack because Brooke was his biological mother. Nick thinks so and Katie is surprised Taylor gave the baby to Brooke. They discuss how they will be one big happy family now and Katie says, “With my sister.”
Thorne, Felicia and Dr. Patrick gather around as Eric dresses for work. Dr. Patrick gives him the A.O.K. and leaves. Eric prepares to call Donna, and his children leave as Eric dials the phone.
Donna answers her phone and is surprised to hear Eric’s voice. He asks her to come to the house and Donna rushes out.
Bridget and Brooke are in Brooke’s house and Brooke asks how she’s doing. Bridget says she feels like she dodged a bullet. She wishes she had figured things out before the wedding, but better now than five years from now. She says it really hurts, but she’s relieved – no more fairytales or illusions. Brooke hugs her daughter as Ridge enters the house. They discuss her moving in, but Bridget declines. She is happy she can depend on both of them and Brooke tells her, as her mother she will always be there for her.
Felicia and Thorne urgently tell Stephanie that Eric called Donna to come over. When Donna comes to the door, Stephanie calmly allows Donna to enter and go to Eric’s room. Felicia and Thorne are shocked their mother allowed Donna access to Eric.
Donna comes to Eric’s room and Eric tells her the doctor says he’s ready to go to the office. Donna notes she always knew this would happen. Eric says he sees things more clearly now and Donna takes this as a sign of hope. She knew he couldn’t forget what they shared and tells him he is all she thinks about and grabs his hand. Eric responds that he’s been thinking about her too and then loosens her grip on him. He tells her he learned how much time she spent with him in the hospital, but notes that she had other things to take care of as well. Donna admits it, saying she took care of the house and the business and did it all for him. Laced with anger, Eric says, “My loving devoted wife.” He then shows her a photo of her and Owen in a magazine from when they were in Paris. The caption on the photo reads, “Mrs. Eric Forrester does the City of Lights with the new man in her life.” Eric spits out that it’s insulting and demeaning. Donna dismisses it as gossip and tells him what he saw wasn’t what it looked like, explaining all she and Owen did was kiss, but Eric still calls it betrayal. Donna tries to explain her actions, but Eric doesn’t want to hear it. He tells her the one thing he would not tolerate was cheating and explains that there are all kinds of infidelity, including emotional. Donna continues to defend herself saying she never gave Owen her heart because it has always belonged to him. She tells him he is the only thing that has ever made sense in her life. Eric informs Donna that he has made his decision and Donna tearfully asks if he’s going to leave her and go back to Stephanie.
Bridget leaves and Ridge tells Brooke he was surprised how quickly Nick agreed to shared custody of Jack, thinking he did it for other reasons than just for the boy. Brooke asks if Ridge is having second thoughts and Ridge says they have to be honest with each other if this situation is going to work out. Ridge asks Brooke for reassurance and Brooke understands that it can’t be easy for Ridge to see her and Nick together with Jack so she will try to be more sensitive. Ridge says he’s not jealous, he’s just trying to prevent anything from happening. Brooke assures him Nick won’t be a problem and that she is his forever. Ridge is appeased and then shows Brooke Hope’s maid-of-honor dress, R.J.’s best man suit and even a little suit for ring bearer Jack. Brooke is thrilled by everything and then gets a surprise when Ridge slips a huge rock on her finger. Brooke loves it, but says she doesn’t need it. Ridge counters that she absolutely does need it and asks her to say she’ll be his wife again. Brooke responds that she wants to be his wife forever.
