Brooke drops a bomb on Ridge, Katie and Bridget face each other, and Taylor says goodbye to Jack.

Brooke looks at photos of Jack on her phone and thinks about him living with her. Ridge enters their bedroom and they talk about their day. Ridge tells Brooke that Bridget has already seen a lawyer regarding Nick and Brooke thinks that’s best especially since a child is involved. Ridge thinks she’s talking about Katie’s baby, but Brooke says she’s talking about Jack. Brooke says she wants to talk about their future, but Ridge thought that issue was settled. He lovingly tells her that there is nothing he wouldn’t do for her. Brooke asks if Nick is still an issue between them and they rehash their history with him. Brooke starts to talk about her kids and how even though they have different dads, it doesn’t matter to them. Ridge asks if she’s trying to tell him that he’s going to be a father again and Brooke asks if he’d be upset if she were. Ridge would be ecstatic if they had kids until they were 90 years old. Brooke wants them to have open hearts and Ridge says he does. They start to fool around and land in bed.

Katie is sewing on the couch when Bridget enters Brooke’s house. She asks if Brooke is back yet and Katie says she’s upstairs. Bridget is surprised Katie didn’t move in with Nick and Katie says they can barely even look at each other. Bridget informs Katie that she’s filed for divorce, but Katie protests that Nick loves her. Bridget thinks he’ll get over it and admits that she’ll probably miss Jack more than she’ll miss Nick. Bridget doesn’t want to wait around for Brooke any longer and says she’s leaving. Katie stops her saying she misses her. Katie knows it’s a lot to ask, but she hopes they can be friends again. Bridget says she’s cleared the way for her and Nick and that’s all she’s getting out of her. She curtly tells Katie that shoulders to cry on are in short supply and leaves the house.

Taylor comes to Nick’s house with Jack and fills him in on Brooke’s visit to Big Bear. Jack starts to cry and Nick takes him and puts him in his playpen. Taylor demonstrates to Nick that Jack doesn’t respond to her and bemoans the fact that she should be the most important person in the world to him, but she’s not. Nick thinks they just need time, but Taylor says Jack needs to identify with the person he thinks is his mother and that’s not her. Taylor admits that she has always compared herself to Brooke in looks, personality and style. She says she’s lost to her over and over again and she’s devalued herself. Jack was just another competition she entered with Brooke and thinks that’s what she focused on instead of being a mother. Taylor wishes she could tell Nick that she was stopping this ridiculous cycle, but she can’t and it’s not fair to Jack. She says he deserves a happy childhood and it’s time for her to step aside. Nick offers to give Taylor a break for as long as she needs one, but Taylor thinks Jack needs a mother and Brooke is ready right now. Nick doesn’t think it’s a good idea because Ridge will be involved in raising Jack and they aren’t exactly on the best of terms. Taylor doesn’t think Ridge is an issue because Jack is so happy when he’s with Brooke. She wants what’s best for Jack, but concedes letting him go will be hard and she starts to cry.

Ridge and Brooke lay in bed after they have sex and Ridge thinks they should get married in the yard without inviting anyone. He doesn’t think they can get both their families in the same room without incident and suggests that Hope and RJ can be their maid of honor and best man. Brooke thinks the only thing that matters in her life is her kids and loving him. She then says something happened in Big Bear and gently tells a shocked Ridge that Taylor wants her to be Jack’s mother.

Taylor holds Jack and tells him she wishes she could make him feel how much she loves him. She says she will always be there for him if he ever needs her some day. She hands him to Nick and leaves the house. Once outside Taylor fights her tears and walks away.
