Rick lays out his plan to Taylor and Brooke, while Ridge helps Bridget move out of Nick’s house.

Brooke and Ridge wake up in a frisky mood, but Brooke gets out of bed, much to Ridge’s disappointment. She tells him they have a very busy day and brushes her hair, while she thinks about Bridget who is moving out of Nick’s house today. Ridge calls Nick a weasel and bad mouths him. Brooke asks Ridge to stop by Nick’s to help Bridget move out and Ridge is more than happy to oblige. Hope and RJ run in the room with baskets and ask Brooke when they are going to Big Bear for the Apple Festival. Brooke says she’ll take a shower and then they can go.

Rick and Taylor are already at Big Bear and marvel at how Jack went to bed easily last night. Taylor is happy Rick brought them up to the cabin because they all needed a change of scenery. Taylor says Jack has been really good since they came to the cabin, but Rick says things aren’t working and it’s breaking their hearts and affecting their relationship. He never thought she’d be able to raise Brooke’s biological son and asks Taylor if she believes if she will ever be able to truly bond with Jack in spite of her history with Brooke. Rick says he’s only suggesting this because he loves her and Jack, but maybe Jack needs Brooke and his siblings, Hope and RJ. Taylor asks if he thinks Brooke is a better mother than she is and Rick says that’s not the point. Jack is different with her than with Brooke because he feels Taylor’s animosity towards Brooke being his biological son. He tells Taylor that Brooke and the kids are on their way up to the cabin and Taylor is irritated that he didn’t warn her. Rick says they’ll treat it like an experiment to see how Jack gets along with Brooke and the kids. Taylor isn’t happy with Rick’s plan, but Rick says Jack hasn’t been happy with her for as long as he can remember. Taylor wants to believe she can get past this, but Rick reminds her how happy her kids were with family around growing up and says this could be an amazing opportunity for Jack. Taylor doesn’t know what she’s doing wrong and is tired of trying. Rick thinks Jack instinctively knows he’s not where he is supposed to be. Taylor blames herself, but Rick says no one is to blame. However, he asks her to prove what an exceptional mother she is because only that kind of mother could put the needs of her child above her own and let someone else raise their child. Taylor angrily asks, “Someone like Brooke?” She can’t believe Rick would suggest she let Brooke raise her child.

As Bridget packs her things, Nick asks if she really needs to do this. Bridget very calmly tells him that she will always love him, but they are not meant to be. Nick wants to fight for their marriage, but Bridget says it’s over. She admits it’s partly her fault for trying to resurrect their marriage, but she won’t settle for a marriage like this. She says she’s stronger and knows what she deserves. She will find that kind of happiness, but it won’t be with him. She lets him know she has already contacted a divorce lawyer to quickly end their marriage and tells him if he really wants to help her heal, he won’t stand in her way. Nick apologizes for hurting her and the doorbell rings.

Nick answers the door to Ridge who has come to help Bridget move out. Bridget seems grateful as Ridge tells her that Brooke took the kids to Big Bear and asked him to give her a hand. She says that’s sweet of him and Ridge assures Bridget, and more pointedly, Nick, that he’s more than happy to help. Nick says he can help Bridget, but Ridge lashes out at him.

Brooke, RJ and Hope come to the cabin and the kids are excited to see Jack. They run to play with him and Jack seems to respond. Brooke asks Rick why he came up when he knew she would be there. Rick tells his mother that they need to do what’s best for Jack. He says it’s not working with Taylor and Jack because something is missing and Brooke thinks it’s because Taylor is always tense around him. Rick says they need to figure out what’s best for Jack and Taylor starts to cry. Brooke shockingly asks if Taylor is considering letting her be a mother to Jack.

Bridget gathers the rest of her things while Ridge says he’ll load her bags in the car. After she leaves to do one last check, Ridge yells at Nick again. Nick doesn’t think he has to defend himself to Ridge, but Ridge says there’s no excuse because what he did was appalling. He accuses Nick of not being true to Bridget and she deserves better. Nick reminds Ridge that he forgave Brooke for not always being true to him, but Ridge says Nick was just a speed bump in their relationship. Ridge tells Nick that once all this is over, he never wants anything to do with him ever again!
