Owen and Donna get intimate, Stephanie gets a shock, Brooke lashes out at Katie, and Nick starts to tell Bridget about Catalina Island.
Stephanie welcomes Eric back to the world, but he looks confused. Stephanie asks if he knows who she is and he nods his head. She asks if he’s in pain, but Eric can’t get out the words. Stephanie tells him that everyone has been praying for him to come back and assures him she will call Donna and all the children. She doesn’t want to leave him though and says, “Now that you’re back, I never want to leave you” and kisses him on the lips.
Stephanie gets a phone call from Pam who is looking dishelmed at a pay phone. Pam wants to explain, saying it’s all Donna’s fault and she was only trying to protect Stephanie. Stephanie asks where she is so they can talk and says the police will find her anyway. Pam says they won’t find her, but she won’t be far away. Stephanie pleads with her sister to tell her where she is, but Pam hangs up.
Brooke rails at Katie who tries to explain her actions. Brooke says all of Bridget’s wounds will be reopened. Katie agrees, but says it doesn’t change the fact that against all odds her and Nick are bringing a child into this world. Katie says Nick will make Bridget understand what happened, but Brooke says even though Bridget is kind and generous, she will not be able to accept it no matter what Nick does to prepare her. Katie says she has felt such shame for this but she can’t think of this child as a mistake. She admits it’s a bad situation, but it’s not impossible. Brooke asks how far along she is and Katie says she is through her first trimester and that’s a milestone. Katie is clearly thrilled, but tells Brooke it’s extremely high risk, however the baby is fine. Brooke softens a bit as she becomes concerned that Katie could be risking her health. Katie tells her it’s a risk she’s willing to take. Brooke is still furious that Katie is hurting Bridget, but Katie hopes that Bridget will be able to forgive her. Brooke isn’t sure that’s possible after all she’s done for Katie. Brooke says this isn’t going to just be another crisis, it could be the end of her world.
On the Shady Marlin, Bridget asks Nick what’s on his mind and he says, “You,” but she knows there’s more going on than that. She says she really doesn’t care what’s going on though, because it just feels so good to be in his arms. Bridget enjoys spending some alone time with Nick without a crisis to tend to and Nick says there’s always one around the corner. Bridget wants them to spend more quality time together on the Marlin because she feels like she can conquer the world. He makes her feel alive and protected. She starts to kiss him, but Nick wants to tell her something. She won’t let him though and they continue to kiss and then have sex. Afterwards, Bridget is clearly blissful, but Nick is stressed out. He tells Bridget how much he loves her, but sometimes you end up hurting the person you want to protect the most. He says there’s something he has to tell her and Bridget realizes it’s serious. He tells a horrified Bridget that something happened when he took Katie to Catalina.
Donna and Owen make out on her bed and Donna stops, saying she can’t stop thinking about Eric. Owen says it’s understandable, but Eric told her he wanted her to find happiness if something happened to him. Donna reminds him that Eric is still alive, but Owen tells her that they can make each other happy. Donna says she wants to be with him, but she can’t yet because she is still Eric’s wife. Owen tells her that Eric loves her and wouldn’t want her to be lonely. This seems to convince Donna, as she eagerly kisses Owen.
Owen and Donna get hot and heavy as someone walks up the stairs. It’s Stephanie who comes to Donna’s bedroom door and shockingly sees her and Owen getting passionate.
Stephanie comes back to Eric’s hospital room and finds a nurse with a sleeping Eric. She tells Stephanie the doctor wants her to call him and says Eric being conscious is a big step forward. After the nurse leaves, Stephanie fumes that Donna didn’t wait for Eric and that she, not Donna was by his side when he woke up. She says she couldn’t protect him from Pam, but she will shield him from this. She tells Eric that he’s taken a big step back to her and their life together and she kisses Eric again.
